Literally across the road from the train station & 50 metres from the gig venue we were attending meant hardly any walking for our stay. Friendly reception. Room was nice & appeared freshly decorated, larger room than expected, good size TV & a fridge & fan was in the room. Quiet & comfortable stay.
Would have given 10/10 if we wasn't rudely disturbed by a knock on our door while in a state of undress at 09:35 & upon opening the door I was greeted by a member of staff (maybe a cleaner I think? Hope it was staff member anyway?) who asked me when I was checking out.... our check-out was 11:00, a hour & 25 mins later that morning, so that instance should not have occurred, very unprofessional, hence a 2 point deduction to 8/10.

Very close to the train station, 5 minute walk to the shopping centre, both my children were very comfortable and the reception staff was very friendly and helpful and tried to make sure we would be comfortable.
The lift was broken so we had to carry luggage, a baby and a pushchair to the top floor. Reception did offer to change rooms but unfortunately we wouldn’t all fit in a double room, there was a big brown stain on my oldest daughters quilt cover and the carpet had quite a bit of hair on them still. but overall we had a comfortable stay, the staff were very welcoming and helpful and it would be an option to stay here again

I stayed at Aston Court and was genuinely impressed by the experience. The location couldn’t be better—just a minute’s walk from Derby railway station, which made my arrival and departure completely hassle-free. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally polite, helpful, and professional—always ready with a smile and quick to respond to any queries. Special thanks to the reception team for making everything so easy and pleasant. The room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, with thoughtful amenities that added to the sense of convenience—perfect for a restful stay. The bed was cozy, and everything was spotless, which I deeply appreciated. The hotel also offers great value for money. For the price, the comfort and service exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was generous, with a good variety to choose from—especially the continental spread. I’ll definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Derby. This hotel strikes the right balance between affordability, comfort, and location, making it ideal for both short and longer stays. - Thanks Reshma and Bipul, Cheeers . We had a great stay at Aston Court Derby City Centre. The location is excellent, just opposite the train station. Although it is not a new hotel, it is clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the Manager, Mr. Himanshu, who helped us whenever we needed it, and to Reshma, who was very helpful during our arrival. The service speaks for itself, and we highly recommend this hotel!
The lift was out of order by the time we arrived, but that wasn't much of a problem at all because the staff were very willing to help us out.

Reception Staff were excellent but we're being made Redundant as New Owners were in. Breakfast was good eggs cooked to order the Lady was very pleasant and helpful. Bar didn't open until 3pm
Rooms were a bit tired. Was told that the Hotel had just had an expensive refit. Yes it looked like it had in some areas but not the rooms. One room in are party had skid marks on his bed sheets asked for room to be cleaned but it never happened just got ignored.

It was my second stay in this hotel (June and October 2024) - main reason for choosing this hotel was the locality (next to railway station, close to the city centre and the venue of concerts I attended in both instances). The hotel is reasonably comfortable, I didnt have breakfast as I usually tend to eat later, but I did have light dinners in the hotel which were always freshly prepared, tasty and sufficient (I am a vegetarian and vegetarian options were available). The staff is nice. friendly and helpful and generally I can recommend this hotel. If I come over to derbe again, I will happily use their services again.
I always stayed on the groundfloor and in autumn / winter it may be a bit chilly in the room. I do recommend to keep the door to the backyard closed :) - but I didnt ask at the reception for this as I wasnt freezing. This is just a kind suggestion. :)

The bed was very comfortable and clean, there was hot water, and the public areas were clean. It felt safe there and was very quiet. Great location. I would definitely stay again.
It was not a problem for me but the lift was out of order. It was beyond the control of the staff but the site I had booked with, Booking.com, had overbooked so, for a few minutes, I did not have a room but the staff managed to find a single room for me for which I was very grateful.

This hotel is all about the amazing staff. The 2 ladies working the evening I stayed could not have done enough for the guests. They managed a busy bar and the reception desk superbly. The room was of a good size and the bed was comfortable. Whilst the bathroom wasn't the largest it still offered enough space to get what's needed done. I also appreciate the fact they had placed a fan in the wardrobe and then advised of this when checking in so I knew about it as it was a particularly warm evening when I stayed. All areas of the hotel had seemed to have a refurb and was very clean. Perfect location for both the railway station and city centre.
If I had to find something, the shower could be a little bigger but still did the job and would only fall into the "very minor issue" category.

In general it exceeded my expectations. Neat old hotel with its own charm. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were decent (I assume they are the same every day though, so might get stale after a while). Located right outside of Derby train station, very convenient. Perfect location for Download Festival attendees :)
As many other reviews mentioned, water issues. Water would randomly stop and you are standing in the shower cold and wet waiting for the next serving of low pressure water to come through. Wifi was fairly slow, especially during our final day. Speedtest showed 0.5 mbps.
