Have stayed a few times. Love the hotel. Staff go above and beyond to make things right for guests. Love the quality of bedding, specifically duvet which is warm but not heavy and not the huge lump type that so many hotels are adopting. The building is so beautiful and it’s lovely to see it kept in such good order by the hotel group.
2 breakfast tea bags! I know I could just ask for more but surely easier if at least 4 there allowing for a drink on arrival and one the following morning. Would like to see twin bed option in accessible room.

Lovely big room. Exceptional high ceilings reflected the era the hotel was based in with really lovely architecture inside as well as outside. Bed so comfortable and facilities were excellent. Everything you would need. Staff were lovely. Was amazed to be told a free drink was available between 5 and 6pm which included kids. I was there with my 3 grandchildren. There was a table top football table which the boys loved and a room which showed a film on a big screen for the kids. Food was excellent. Kids menu was varied enough. Breakfast was great too. Hot or cold but continental in basic room and breakfast price. All in all very central hotel. A very pleasant stay.
Slightly more varied menu for evening meal with more vegetables but the menu as is was all very nice.

Impressive historic building, situated perfectly for the Palace Theatre, museum etc. Very friendly, helpful staff, breakfast was wonderful, rooms with good quality mattresses (fitted with toppers), high ceilings and bags of natural light coming in.
Just little niggles really, room could have been cleaned more thoroughly, there was a used tissue behind the bedside cabinet on arrival, and moving the beds to hoover underneath every couple of weeks would be a good idea. In an otherwise immaculate bathroom, leaving the toilet seat fitted askew somewhat spoiled the aesthetic.

Room was beautiful and spacious. Shower was amazing Bed was sooooo comfortable. The greeting on arrival was lovely, the desk people and the person at breakfast were superb
Stop serving PG tips as tea. Yorkshire tea is the only tea. The breakfast doesn’t seem to be value for money. I get it if you want to have a belly buster breakfast and fill your pockets for the rest of the day. But £22 seems a little excessive for a bowl of yogurt and compote and a pot of tea. I would really rather I just paid what I ordered like I would at a restaurant and the continental part of the breakfast built into the price of the room.

Amazing service from all staff. Free upgrade to the room was above and beyond and most welcome. The balloons were there as requested on arrival and also a bottle of wine which was a nice extra. Awesome building and room. The social hour was a pleasant extra. Breakfast was delicious.
Air conditioning in the room... it was hard to find the control and then operating was hit and miss - didnt seem to work at first. It was too cold on arrival! When returning to the room on one occasion the interior security latch stopped us getting back in the room! Only way to re enter the room was for an engineer to hammer off the latch! Breakfast was delicious but let down because it was a little cold!

The decor, location and staff were amazing. We had a room with 2 double beds and it was the most comfortable nights sleep with great amenities.
Breakfast wasn’t great in the morning, there wasn’t a huge selection, nor much flavour and the food was just warm. We were upgraded rooms which we were very grateful for, as we had requested a twin and been given a double. If we had stayed in the original double room, I definitely wouldn’t have classed the stay as reasonably priced and think this along with the breakfast wouldn’t suffice a 5* rating. This wouldn’t put us off returning in the future, if the price was right.

The building was beautiful! The room was really spacious and very close to the centre and transport links. Staff were all lovely and very helpful. The bar area was nice and the breakfast was delicious. I was hesitant to stay given there were many reviews noting the noise at night, but we experienced hardly any despite being on the first floor facing the busy road on a bank holiday weekend!
The bed was a tad hard for our preference and I personally had trouble sleeping due to the thickness of the pillows. I mentioned this to the team and within 10 minutes the issue was resolved. This is obviously preference-based, but if you prefer lower pillows and struggle sleeping without one, I would recommend bringing one of your own. I would like to note that this would likely be the case for me personally no matter which hotel I stay in, so should not be interpreted as an issue specific to this hotel. Overall we had an amazing stay and would happily go back!

On entering the hotel we were knocked out by its astounding architectural beauty. The staff were very helpful and polite in fact it was a perfect welcome. On the way to our room again we noticed what a beautiful old building this was and how well it had been looked after. When we opened our room door it had a WOW effect. After unpacking we went for some late lunch and upon our return to the room found our PJS had been folded and placed on the bed with a chocolate on each pillow, a lovely little touch. We then called in at the hotels "Refuge" bar. We were greeted by a DJ playing 70s funk. The music was not too loud that we could not have a conversation and the bar itself was a place I could spend many an evening in. After we returned from our concert to our room we enjoyed a great nights sleep . Considering it was in the city centre and next to a tram track it was very quiet. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide choice of cold and hot food. My wife had fruit and I had a bacon butty a great end to our stay there. We are already planning a return trip there.
Everything was great

The whole experience of the hotel was exceptional from the moment we arrived, Staff on reception were attentive, hotel was in fabulous condition, the room was great, bathroom and shower also. The breakfast was superb, again with attentive staff, engaging in conversation with us and a beautiful setting. The location was also fantastic, being within walking distance to pretty much everything. The next time I am in Manchester, I will be booking again.
Absolutely nothing, everything was amazing and made the stay so very enjoyable.

Gorgeous, characterful building, comfy, clean room with nice, well thought out extras. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good quality.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property, I have stayed there before and definitely would do so again and again. This time there was a small glitch with our room. It was one side of a locked door to an adjoining room, both are usually used as a family suite. We could hear voices from the other room via the door which disturbed our sleep. On check out, the staff member I mentioned this to, took note and added this to my details for next time.
