The Alma Lodge was in a great location, and was clean and welcoming. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a fan available, which was very welcome given the heat outside. The hotel was relaxed and quiet.

The lack of a lift might be a problem for guests with mobility issues. Despite having a sign outside saying that the Lodge had a restaurant, they only served afternoon tea, so getting an evening meal was a little challenging. However, the staff were able to recommend local options and the hotel is well-served by local takeaways.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is overwhelmingly large and certainly sets you up for the day. It is a well run and managed hotel. One enormous advantage to staying at the Alma Lodge is paying half of the the cost one would have to fork out for inferior and overpriced accommodation in Manchester, whilst only being eight minutes away from Piccadilly Station.

The room was slightly noisy with the tv from the adjacent room just a bit too audible. A bedside reading lamp would be welcome.

Location for me was perfect as I was looking for something close to family. Easy to find, good amount of parking. Staff friendly. Initial impression is that it is an old building and dated but is clean and well presented. There is a bar area, dining room, 24 hrs reception. Room was a single room, adequate for my stay. Tea/ coffee making facilities. Tv. Well lit. Bath & shower. Clean bathroom, spotless fresh white bed linen & towels. Comfy bed. Desk and chair. Small single shower gel&soap supplied in bathroom

Dated (but it's an old building. Paper thin walls so you hear every word when people are walking up the hall past your room. Shower was very poor pressure. No shower mat for the bath. Slip hazard. Bland decor. Reminded me of a uni dorm. No evening meals, only breakfast. Nothing too much to bother me though, overall a good experience for a 1-2 night stay.

Enjoyed our breakfast. Friendly staff. Location worked for us to attend a graduation ceremony at Manchester University. The Hotel is easy to reach from major roads and the staff let us leave the car there to travel in by uber. Public transport was also an option. NB Some satnavs take you round the back where there is no access. Stay on the main road and you see it.

We stayed at the end of some very hot weather and air con would have been nice. Fans were provided (as were electric heaters which could be very welcome in winter).

I have used this hotel before and the location to Hazel Grove and the Town centre is excellent. The rooms are clean and quiet, breakfast is good and the beer at the bar is very good. The staff members are very helpful and friendly. There is plenty of parking which is a big bonus.

I think it depends on the room you get, the WiFi was terrible in the bedroom, this wasn't the case on my previous stay. The beds are firmer than what I am use to so the first night sleep is a bit odd, I got use to it after the first night. I would have liked for there to be a restaurant facility for evening meals.

The location was perfect for our trip & ideal for the venue we were attending. Good amount of parking.

Breakfast was good on the Saturday but terrible on the Sunday, We arrived for breakfast on Sunday at 08:05, paid £12.50 for breakfast only to find no cooked meat available for the full English breakfast we had paid for! We had to leave at 08:30 to get to our venue and at 08:30 there was still no sign of any cooked meat for our breakfast. At least 4 of our party of 8 ended up paying for the full breakfast and ended up with only eggs, beans, tomatoes and toast! The staff on duty kept telling us it would only be a few minutes delay but 25 minutes later we had not choice but to leave.

Facilities were great. Lovely comfy bed and super pressure in the shower. Complimentary toiletries was a nice touch

Everything was great apart from booking in. There was no pleasant greeting and had to wait quite some time for a miserable member of staff to man reception . The woman ( I was told had worked there for quite some time) could not be bothered and greeted us with “NAME?” Not at all what you need front of house after a long journey. On departure there was a lovely young lady who was very pleasant and apologised for our miserable check in. Shame she didn’t do check in. Would have given 10 out of 10 otherwise.

The room was big, nice and clean, check in was no probs, even though it was late at night. Breakfast wasn't bad, although a bit sparce.

For the size of the room, the bed seemed quite small. Used to something bigger, so maybe that was just me. I thought the breakfast offering was a bit sparce. Came down at half 9. No hash browns left, very little scrambled eggs, had to ask for a plate and bread. What was there was good, but if you're offering breakfast till 10am, then that's what should be on offer.

Staff were exceptionally friendly, and welcoming to my dog as well. Parking was plentiful.

Off the main public spaces it was a little tatty in places and the rooms could do with sprucing up. The shower was pretty awful. The lack of a lift is an issue, although I appreciate the difficulties in the building. The charge of $18.99/night for the dog was pretty steep as we stayed for three nights. If you really want to be dog friendly, this should be reviewed.

Staff very friendly , beds were superb, Breakfast Buffet was excellent, plenty of choice , Bar open to 12.30am , free parking was a huge bonus ! Location was ideal, albeit set off a main road , sleeping in their comfy beds was no bother, very handy for travelling around by car or park the car & take the bus 192 outside petrol station will take you to Mersey Square , main shopping area for Stockport. Good selection of shops/ places to eat. If you fancy a wash & blow dry , I recommend Majestic hair salon , go passed McDonalds , turn right , it is on the right next to Barbers, ring to make a booking on 07837551112 You can also take 192 to Manchester Piccadilly about 30mins . 199 bus from Bus stop outside hotel we take you to Buxton , where you can see where Buxton bottled water comes from. Last but not least Room No 1 was brilliant just at the top of the stairs. Enjoy your stay we did !
