The staff were exceptionally nice and the breakfasts were really good. The room was really a suite and very comfortable. The only downside to our stay was storm Darragh which inhibited our sightseeing plans. The three wrens distillery is very close and the gin making experience well worth doing.

Only the weather

From the initial greeting upon arrival to the final departure, the experience of staying was amazing. Incredible people in a wonderful property and amazing views. We will be back!

There wasn't anything that I experienced that could possibly be disliked - except maybe that the distillery wasn't open on a Sunday (on the list for next time)

So clean and wonderful friendly welcome, beautiful room and lovely en suite. Great location and views over the lake. Such a lovely experience to be in a building with so much history, breakfast was exceptional and staff so genuinely lovely.

Communication was brilliant, we received in depth check in details and also a call prior to arrival. The North Wing is amazing and we arrived to a very warm welcome, a tour and even cake waiting. The attention to detail is second to none. There were lots of little touches that make your stay perfect. Our breakfast was also amazing. The food, local knowledge, friendliness and being in the middle of nature make your stay unforgettable and so relaxing. Thank you so much and we will be back.

Stunning location, really peaceful. Gorgeous room and view. Lovely bed linen and pillows, very comfortable bed. I think this was the best hotel bed I have ever slept in! Lots of nice little extras like cake, fresh milk on arrival, etc. Very helpful staff. Delicious and generous breakfast.

As the North Wing only hosts 2 couples you share a (large, spacious) breakfast table with two strangers. Many people wouldn’t mind this, and we didn’t particularly, but perhaps flexibility to have separate tables when the guests don’t know each other might be a added bonus. It did make me think it would be wonderful to return with friends or family!

The overall feeling was one of tranquility. Everything was at a slower pace a real place to relax and unwind. Our room was delightful from the luxurious bed to the immaculate ensuite and the selection of tea and coffee. The downstairs sitting room was lovely. Breakfast was superb. Thank you Blair for the warm hospitality. Truly a unique experience.

Couldn't fault a thing.

What a stunning place to stay! From the mile long driveway, to the beautiful settings and suite, we could not fault this amazing place. And to add the finishing touch, Blair made our stay even better with his attention to detail and his wonderful cooked breakfast the next morning. We will certainly be looking to go back again in the future.

We enjoyed the history of the property, the grounds were beautiful and well kept, providing a real feeling of serenity and peacefulness. The hospitality was exceptional, both kind and thoughtful, with great attention to detail. Our breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. The Abbey has been faithfully restored, again with attention to detail and comfort in mind with sensitivity to the history of this amazing family home.

Out of the way. Host Blair is exceptionally accommodating and very effective. Stephan was extremely helpful as well since we cam by train and had to get to the Abbey via taxi. Breakfast was off-the-chart!
