The hotel is located right in the city center, close to market, cafes and restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and willling to help arranging activities, sightseeing and transportation. Breakfast was very good but the variety of food could be improved.

- The hotel is not situated on the riverfront. There is another smaller hotel in the front, right at the riverbank. - The temperature of hot water in the shower in our room was not stable. - Our keycards did not work well for few times but the staff at fromtdesk were very helpful. - The breakfast line could be more organized and better handled. I saw small cockroaches around the coffee machines. Some butter cubes in the buffet line were meletd in liquid, though they should not be served. I understand that there are not many guests during our stay and they gave discount for breakfast, chepaer than what we paid for our booking.

We stayed 7 nights (over 2 bookings), longer than average stay (winter/high season: January 2025) Amari’s location is central to all the Vang Vieng activities: convenient for walking around, restaurants and Walking Street. Our rooms faced the town. In the evening, we could hear some noise from the street, but not much and not late. Note that daytime, there are some construction works beside the hotel and if you want to relax in your room, you will hear that noise (most probably you’ll be at some of Vang Vieng’s exciting sites :) From most rooms you’ll see the spectacle of the hot-air balloons’ dance around the town’s skies. The rooms we occupied (Twin room and Deluxe King room) were large, with a balcony, but no seating area (a shame given the size of the rooms). The corridors can be a bit noisy. The bed was good. There was hanging space (I was provided with extra hangers upon request), some shelves for clothing, and a desk. The resort is very clean, not brand new, but it seems like there is active maintenance and refurbishment. The pool is quite large, sufficient for doing laps and clean. It’s mostly in the sun but obviously quite chilly in winter time. There is a pitiful amount of sunbeds (about 20 beds for 160 rooms(!?) The buffet breakfast is offering a very large range of Asian and Western options and an egg station. There is some choice for vegetarians (and limited for vegans). Dishes are of very good quality. The daytime restaurant however does not offer a single vegetarian option, except basic salad. Wifi was good. The quality of the service was professional. Even though it is a large hotel with big turnover, the team is prompt to assist. We appreciated their service attitude and kindness. The front desk offers great van pick-up from train station at 50K/p and can buy train tickets on your behalf at a commission cost similar to agents around town. It is definitely worth spending a few nights in this lovely area, as there is plenty to do.

We stayed one week (Jan 2025) General location & surrounding: Location is ideal, in the centre of Vang Vieng, therefore walking distance to all restaurants and some attractions (Cave, River). Some rooms have a view over the mountains (not ours). There is a building site on the side of the hotel and that does make some noise (only in the daytime though). Comfort & Bedding & Storage: We had two different rooms, both large, but unfortunately no sitting area except on the balcony. The bed was good (firm) and the pillows large but not too hard. There was hanging space and some shelves for clothing, and a desk. Oddly there was music played in the corridors in the evening, which one could hear from the room. Pool: The pool is quite large, and sufficient for doing laps. It is clean and the water was chilly since it was wintertime. There can be noisy groups splashing around as there are lots of tour operator groups as well as families stopping over. The amount of sunbeds or even sitting around the pool is ridiculously small. Breakfast (& restaurant): Breakfast is a large buffet, with oriental and western options and an egg station. The offer is not quite the same from day to day, which is nice on a longer stay. The staff was very efficient, and the buffet was quickly replenished and tables cleaned up even when a large group had just passed by. We did not try the restaurant as there was no vegetarian options. Condition & cleanliness: The hotel is clean and fairly well maintained, even if not brand new. Wifi: We used mix of Wifi and local SIM. Staff & Service: Staff is present and ready to assist, we appreciated their service attitude and kindness. Train tickets can be booked by the front desk. Value for money: Good.

Amari has the best view and pool in Vang Vieng. Also, you've got to love the comfortable beds!

Unfortunately, soundproofing seems to have been completely ignored by the architects and interior designers of Amari. The walls are thin enough to hear your neighbours conversation. The long hallways are tiled and seem to amplify conversations and sounds. The bedroom doors that lead to the hallway do nothing to dampen the noisy hallway. And those doors need to slammed in order for the lock to close. All that adds up to disturbance until the last guest goes to bed, and again once the first guest rises.

Everything about our stay at the Amari was beyond our expectations. The check-in process was smooth and the staff were so nice and professional. Everybody greets you when they pass, and that Laos charm is everywhere. When we first walked in the room, the first thing we did was make some TikToks lol ...we were just so amazed. First at the view, which was even better than I'd expected. I guess photos just can't prepare you for a panorama of a mountain range, shrouded in mist, with the afternoon sun glittering off the river that runs in front of the hotel. It's stunning. The room itself is also amazing. It had everything we needed. The bed is super comfortable -- most comfy pillow I've ever slept on. And the shower is a rainforest style with a glass wall facing the balcony so you can see the mountains. (Don't worry, there are blinds in the bathroom for the shy ones). After soaking in the view, we went to the pool, got some drinks and then just floated around the pool looking at the view, which is, as I will continue to mention, amazing. Breakfast was also way better than I'd expected. It's low season now and the hotel isn't even close to full occupancy, yet the breakfast was still complete -- beyond complete, actually. We ate a ton and everything was great. Great bread, fresh fruit, espresso, some hot dishes like stir fried chicken and broccoli, rice dishes, and the omelet / eggs station...amazing. The omelets were cooked perfectly both days. Crispy bacon...yogurt...the list goes on and on. And we tried it all lol Regarding the area, Vang Vieng is not a clean, charming town like Luang Prabang. It's pretty run down. So the Amari is a bit of an oasis after you walk around for a while. In fact, we didn't do much beyond walking around and then sitting at the hotel staring at the mountains. But I'll go again before long to do some kayaking. This trip, we just saw Blue Lagoon 1 and the cave.

The reception staff could not have been more helpful, including booking me a Longtail boat ride up the river AND walking me down to the set off point. The breakfast was out of this world _an unlimited buffet. The view from my room was amazing.

only one thing. Half the deckchairs around the pool were in full afternoon sun, while on the other, shaded, side there were only spots for about 16 people. And in a hotel with that many rooms, that's not many

The views are jaw dropping and so beautiful they don’t seem real! One of the most comfortable rooms we have ever stayed in, so well equipped. Great shower, super comfy bed and lots of sockets for charging. The breakfasts were superb with a huge selection of delicious food to suit all tastes. Finally the staff were all excellent and we enjoyed a fantastic New Year’s Eve party at the hotel.

The location is very central to VV. The view from the room out into the city and mountains were phenomenal.

More attention to cleanliness is required. We found bits of nuts and chips in the room. Bathroom had a bit of a weird smell. For breakfast we had to join two tables together and when we moved the tables, the floor was dirt with huge amounts of food and other bits underneath the table we moved.

This hotel was just perfect. Reading other reviews my expectations were not too high however I had no issues at this stay. It was perfect the room was exactly like photos very clean and very comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable of my trip. The location is in the heart of Vang Vieng. The shower was perfect. I have no faults with this stay. For anyone booking this accommodation I would highly recommend and just to note that this hotel is probably the best hotel you will get in Vang Vieng. The area doesn’t have good hotels. I had to move from a previous stay because of a lot of issues. If you want a good stay in Vang Vieng this is your hotel. Other reviews complain about the price but I would say the price is good for what you get compared to the other stays in the area!!
