Nice bedroom away from the bar area so lovely and quiet. Bed was comfortable and was clean and good facilities. Breakfast was tasty and arrived fairly quickly. Good position near the train station so didn't have to walk far with our luggage. No traffic noise as village quiet in the evening. Nice bar area downstairs with friendly locals

Not the hotel's fault but had a largish party of other guests who had drunk all the orange juice and milk, and it took us a little longer to be served because they got to breakfast first. The hotel did put more out once asked.

Last minute booking. Fantastic location, The Staff were extremely welcoming. We didn't have dinner as we arrived too late, the bar didn't have an empty seat so I assume it was great. We had dinner at the pub opposite which was lovely. And good value. The breakfast was tasty and more than enough to get the day started it was included in the stay on a Friday night for two £60 total... Amazing value.

The coffee. I would strongly suggest cafftiers as opposed to the old coffee pot style from the 90s TV show Colombo 😂 The coffee was not great and cold (personal taste) Easy fix. 👍

One night stay, nice room and facilities in the pub. Quiet, back in room no noise from people in the pub.. Friendly staff Would defiantly stay again. If your looking at this as a start or end date for the coast to coast walk I'd suggest you book it. Breakfast full English included and dinner Saturday night at a competitive price. Village Post Office/store opens til 8pm. Monday to Saturday, maybe earlier close on Sunday? Manor Inn almost directly opposite a nice pub too. Decent selection of beers in both. Five minutes to the beach. Two minutes to the train station.

On arrival a small pack of biscuits/similar could be left with the tea/coffee making facilities.

The room was so homely. Had all the home comforts. Room was really big. Very clean. Was left tea and coffee in the room. Staff were really friendly and booked it very last minute but not an issue . The breakfast was lovely and you booked your slot so was nice and hot. Very organised. With pub being so close if on your own would not be an issue and food looked lovely. I had such a pleasant stay even though booked so late. Would definitely recommend.

There was no parking but the train station was only minutes away. It is on a main road , which you would not realise with the pictured featured but it was not an issue.

Friendly and attentive staff and owner. Spacious room. Comfy beds. Very good shower. Very clean room. Nathan, the owner, despite us not asking, supplied us with extra heater when the weather turned colder. Excellent breakfast with good quality ingredients. Restaurant food also great quality. Decent selection of beers at the bar. Great location. Excellent value for money

Breakfast was excellent. There were a lot of choices, we opted for the veggie breakfast the first morning, it was delicious and very filling. The next day we decided to go for a lighter version!! Scrambled egg on toast, also very good. Welcome, room and staff fabulous.q

There is nothing we didn’t like. Don’t be put off by the exterior. The Queens is an old building and needs work, which is obviously getting done.

The single room was clean and comfortable, with all basic needs covered (soap, tea & coffee, towels etc). The breakfast menu included a selection of omelettes as well as traditional cooked breakfasts.

The person in the room above mine was pacing about in the late evening, the small hours and early morning, so I had little sleep. Some sound proofing would be good, or residents with more compassion for fellow guests.

The hotel is charming and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, unfussy and clean. With a good shower. Breakfast was good, as was the service. I will be staying here again in September and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the local area, or as a good starting point for the coast to coast walk.

The seven hour drive from Essex, but that's on me.
