Nearly everything was perfect, lovely clean and comfy room, nice bar, really nice food and friendly staff. Saturday dinner and breakfasts were lovely.
Tell us there is no food or Sunday evening, we only found out by chance conversation with the staff, even though we'd mentioned it on Saturday, and that our friends would be joining us on Sunday evening. That is the only issue but we'd planned the day around being able to come back to the hotel on Sunday evening and stay there. Doesn't say it anywhere on the website or in the restaurant itself. Only a small thing spoiled an otherwise perfect stay. We will probably be back but better prepared next time..

Room and hotel spotlessly clean superb shower pressure, big fluffy towels, great parking, excellent cooked breakfast, , good value for money. Long term staff wonderful. One chambermaid been there 21 yrs. Lovely grounds and outside patio.
Insufficient staffing levels, One regular staff member serving breakfast as well as covering reception and answering phone. Far to many demands on one person resulting in little errors. Never saw the owner who resides in hotel. Bit fawlty towers at times. Missing tea spoons, milk, etc on laid tables. Orange juice was foul, awful tasting concentrate. They bring in temp staff as support... when they have no choice . Young persons who have no hospitality training and are slow, lacking communication skills and unable to smile. I would stay there again as the good things outweigh the poor things. There is a lack of leadership at this hotel and it could be so much better with very little effort.

The Chase is well located, with wonderful staff and is a highly pleasant place to stay. I had breakfast included with my overnights and that was plentiful and of high quality. Bedding, towels, room facilities, i.e. kettle and biscuits all fine and everything spotlessly clean. I also used the restaurant and bar for an evening meal and can recommend that too.
I'll add a mention for the water pressure here. This is most likely a local plumbing matter and not really the fault of the hotel, however, if it's something you're especially sensitive to... Shower water pressure was on the low side. As the shower is from the mains plumbing and not a separate power-shower appliance, I'm not sure how much better it could be. Similarly, the loo has a notice on top to say give a brief press for a short flush; press and hold for a full flush. The idea of saving water is fine, but I couldn't see any particular increase in flow between the two supposedly different options. Anyway, small points and overall an enjoyable stay.

Excellent location, walking distance to marina, quick check in, nice breakfast and helpful staff. The room and bathroom very clean with fresh towels, coffee station with some biscuits, bar with all sorts of alcohol with reasonable prices. Plenty car park spaces so no problem to park even large vehicle (there was bus event and one of historic buses parked over night too and there was still space for more to come). Lovely garden with some mature trees.Wifii covering all rooms and garden.
Nothing to complain and I usually have something to report, really well maintained place to stay

Good location, nice surroundings, garden well maintained
The evening meal was great, but there was no lounge area to relax after the meal, although in summer you would be able to relax outside on the patio and garden area. There was not a written breakfast menu, so it became a question and answer session, especially for the wife who is vegetarian. They appeared short staffed, we had to ask for some glasses and for the juices to be replenished, throughout breakfast not one table was cleared away after the guests had finished their meal.

This hotel is set set in a stunning location; it is exceptionally clean, the food was wonderful, but best of all were the staff who are absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much and everything they did was done with a smile on their face. My family and I were there under sad circumstances - a funeral- we not only stayed at The Chase Hotel, we also held the wake there too and everything they did was wonderful! I would highly recommend staying here to everyone and I would certainly love to stay again.

We always choose to stay at the Chase Hotel whenever we visit Whitehaven, and it's easy to see why. The hotel's location is simply perfect, being within easy walking distance to both the town center and the picturesque Whitehaven marina. Whether we're in the mood for a leisurely stroll through town or a scenic walk along the waterfront, everything is just a short distance away, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel itself has a charming and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the local area. We appreciate the thoughtful details in the room decor and the comfortable beds that guarantee a good night's sleep. We also enjoy the on-site amenities, including a lovely bar and restaurant where we can unwind with a drink or enjoy a delicious meal without having to leave the hotel. The breakfast options are varied and of high quality, providing a great start to the day. If you're looking for a place that's close to all the action but still provides a peaceful and comfortable stay, the Chase Hotel is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it for its unbeatable location and consistently great experience.

Hotel was well located just outside the town centre. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful
I liked the fact there was a bath but it might be a good idea to fix a grab handle to it. Bizarrely, a couple of times the TV in the bedroom came to life in the middle of the night. The hotel is listed as being in Inkerman Terrace but there seemed to be no actual road of that name so the hotel took a bit of finding

Relatively small but comfortable room, clean; large secure car park although floodlights bothered us a bit during the night. Good breakfast.
Being shouted at by the chef for bringing bikes into the lobby after being told we could store them indoors. Receptionist sorted out the misunderstanding. For those cycling Hadrian's Wall / Coast to Coast, you can securely store bikes indoors overnight but they should remain outside (in a locked cage) during the day.

I stayed in Room 33, cannot fault the facilities or cleanliness but unfortunately the radiator would not turn off which meant the room was either stifling hot or you opened the window and the traffic noise disturbed you Food for breakfast and in the restaurant in the evening was excellent. The best thing about this hotel is the staff who do their upmost to please you. Cannot remember all the names but in particular, Natalie in the evenings and Emma in the daytime are amazing
