Meals are top notch if rather large portions for pensioners. My only suggestion is that maybe have two portion sizes so there is less waste. On one occasion I did ask that a portion of the chips on be shared between my husband and I which they was happy to accommodate and meant we didn't waste. Love this hotel, it's our second visit and we will certainly be returning. What's not to like, we highly recommend this hotel for anyone. The beach is a stones throw from the hotel, views are amazing, It's peaceful and relaxing with lovely walks. Staff go out of their way to make your stay everything you could wish for.

While there the internet went down in the area for around 36 hours through no fault of the hotel as the outage was widespread. We always carry cash so this didn't make any difference to us, a lesson to always carry some cash for emergencies. The hotel staff were very helpful in a difficult situation not of their making.

I've previously stayed at Seacote with my son but this time we returned with the whole family. The views from the hotel are amazing and I was thrilled to have a beachview once again. The rooms are exceptionally clean. Beds are comfy, updated bathroom has decent shower with pleasant free toiletries. Food in bar is nice. For me this hotel is all about going to a non touristy area, mainly walkers, with spectacular scenic views. It's quiet, a bit dated but such great value for money.

There are places where the hotel is a bit tired decor wise but if you stay here you'll be out exploring anyway. Bear in mind there's a couple of pubs and a post office in the village but it's pretty remote. (We loved that.) My only critique to be honest was no drinking water in the room but I bought bottles from the bar downstairs. Oh and could do with a plug near the bed.

Food was very good - both breakfast and evening meal. Very nice bathroom and walk in shower, a bedside light you could actually read by if you chose to - very unusual!

The bedroom was a very good size and very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, it was next to the lift/lift shaft and was quite noisy when the lift was operating. There was also no view to speak of, just mainly flat roofs. I have found myself in these kinds of room before, and wonder if they are reserved for single occupants! I think rooms like this could be offered at a slightly reduced rate, although I realise I could have upgraded and that the hotel needs to utilise all its rooms. I also think I paid a very reasonable rate, so it's not a serious complaint.

The staff were amazing from reception staff to cleaning staff to bar staff and waiting on staff all had amazing attitude and banter. The room was clean and accommodating. The view was perfect and so glad we could take our dog Willow xx

Windows could have been cleaned (to admire the view better). Room would have been cooler with a fan or air conditioning. The evening sun was shining straight into our room…..did not want to close it off with curtains 🥰 No plug sockets near the bed. This did not stop us from enjoying our couple of day here….. just a suggestion 🥰

great location, very helpful reception staff who, without being asked, immediately changed room to accommodate our needs, spacious room with courtyard access (Villa 3), food good but large portions, nice beers, friendly helpful staff, for the most part, excellent access for dog walking. In view of the above we would be very happy to stay again. Without detracting from any of those points, I was exceptionally relieved and grateful for the manner in which staff dealt with finding my wallet left behind in the room. They had contacted me to inform me about this before I realised I'd 'mislaid'it. 10/10 for honesty and effort. Thank you to those involved.

There was a lack of inter-departmental communication around breakfast, which resulted in us sitting around for twenty minutes waiting to be served. The situation arose because we were eating with the dog, so needed to take breakfast in the bar area rather than restaurant, and on this occasion, the system broke down. It won't happen if we visit again as we now know how things should work. When breakfast did come it was good quality and generous, the dog being given a sausage of his own :)

Nice old hotel almost on the sea front. We had a fantastic room with a good view over St.Bees Bay. Room was decorated with modern decor to a good standard. The Bathroom was immaculate, with a really good shower. Plenty of free to use toiletries. My wife rates an hotel by the softness of the provided towels (LOL). No problem here, lovely and soft and plenty of them. Bit cool in room when arrived, turned the radiator on, and the room very quickly warmed up.. So yeah, great quick overnighter for us. Read the reviews on here about staff being unfriendly. Complete opposite to what I found. Had a great conversation with the lady on check in. Also decided to eat and have a couple of drinks in the restaurant. The staff in there were very accommodating and friendly. P.S. If the Grilled Pork Chop and Bubble and Squeek is still on the menu when you arrive when you get there, try it. It's fantastic. Just what you need after a cold walk down the beach. It really needs to be added to the main menu.

Absolutely nothing. Really great for us. Quick overnight stay, but made very welcome.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. We booked a twin room and ended up with a sea view which was amazing, very thankful for that. The room was clean, the shower was powerful and great. The staff were amazing and super friendly. I can't recommend this place enough, I already want to come back and I only left yesterday! It's right on the beach too with a stunning walk just on the doorstep.

There's nothing I didn't like. I will say though, if you can't sleep through noise request a room away from the bar. Our room was right above the bar toilets so we heard everyone and the hand dryers. It all ended by 11/11:30pm though. It wasn't a complaint at all for us because we can sleep through it, especially after a hike! But ask for a quiet room if you can't cope.

Would be good to have come continental choices. Otherwise only catering for UK breakfast wishes. Just spent two weeks travelling through Europe and had plenty of Hotel breakfasts. The UK should be leading here for European-wide guests. Previously on a separate stay I had met a couple from Swizerland who were also staying at Seacote Hotel. The area draws clients beyond the British shores. They expect us to be on par with their other experiences, or better.

Mounted Television on a wall bracket should now be standard in bedrooms. It makes placing the head down on the pillow and having a relaxed pre-sleep news night far more comfortable even if guests should just use the bedroom for sleeping.

We were welcomed at Reception. The Hotel was clean and spacious. The Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good. I enjoyed beef lasagne, which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the fish which was a large lightly battered and fresh. Both well presented served with chips and side. Lovely lounge area for relaxing. Good atmosphere in Bar, friendly staff, plenty of tables for socialising. In the room the view of the sea front was delightful. The linens were spotlessly clean, however beds were the old spring type may need to be updated. Convenient walk-in shower, modern facilities. Free toiletries.

TV remote didn't work properly.

The hotel was in a good location to the beach . Plenty of parking . Breakfast in the hotel was lovey, and they even do lunches and evening meals too . All staff was friendly and welcoming.

I didn't like that dogs where allowed in the bar area where people was eating ( there was another larger bar and think dogs should only be allowed in there) Also if people are allergic to dogs it may set off thier allergies , some dog owners had thier dogs on thier laps and on the chairs .
