Lots of improvements since our last stay. Bar and dining areas fully refurbished to a high standard. We were most impressed. Lovely pictures of the area on the walls. Friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Gloss paint very tired, but it was obvious work is ongoing, there was no inconvenience to guests. The food was good and reasonably priced. Good selection of real ale at the bar. Would definitely recommend a stay at The Bridge and we will be returning.

We were disappointed that there wasn't a specials board for 2 nights of our stay and on the first night both items we ordered were unavailable. However the food we did have was excellent.

I've stayed here before and would happily stay here again. It's one of those 'does what it says on the tin' places in which the Lakes excel. The rooms are on the small side but comfortable enough with decent storage space and a desk. Bathrooms are OK and the shower decent. The food in the restaurant was very good and served speedily and efficiently. The breakfasts too are good. Particularly impressive was the servicing of the room with top ups of tea, coffee, biscuits, water and great to come back to after each day's walk. Good parking facilities too.

During our visit it seemed a little understaffed so waits for drinks at the bar and for ordering at breakfast occurred and odd details could be improved though staff are pleasant and friendly. A ledge in the shower for soap/ gel would be helpful!

It was comfortable, clean, and the service was good. Friendly staff, helpful and attentive. Slept very well, had everything I needed. Room was nice, maybe a little updating needed but nothing awful. Was impressed for the price and would stay again. Nobody on the front desk when I left - just needed a heads up to get off in the right direction because the signal was very poor outside, but no biggy, figured it out in the end. Thank you for a nice stay.

Nothing I disliked, just a couple of paint jobs needed here and there. However, I got the feeling they are working through it all.

The Bridge Inn is located in a beautiful area, so close to popular walks like Scafell Pike, for example. The room was very clean, and all the amenities were very good (nice decor, modern bathroom). The place is full of character, and the downstairs pub area is beautiful and really relaxing. It has a few different sitting and dining sections to choose from.

The only thing I could mention are all the little noises at night - like barking dogs (this is a pet friendly establishment), squeaky floors (part of the character of the very old building) and noise from the downstairs pub. I didn't mind it at all, but if someone is a very light sleeper, it could be an issue

The Bridge Inn is a wonderful place. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The Inn is clean and laid out wonderfully. The room we had was lovely and big. We stayed with our young labrador, who is going through a bit of a fear period, and they were so kind and gentle with him. Even when they had a power cut due to storms they went out of their way to try and make up for that. A I am disabled and neurodivergent. It's the first time in a really long time that I've felt comfortable and enjoyed a stay in a hotel or b&b.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. We both enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff, good location to explore the Western Lakes, lovely setting by the river. The pub looks like it had a revamp, a great sun trap outside. Breakfast was spot on, staff very accommodating if you wanted something off the menu like just a sausage sandwich, nice filter coffee with other drinks options. In the evening, pub food again was good, there is a little sports section at one end, i.e tables with TVs, but plenty of room else were away from this section. The rooms were comfortable, and clean, all that you needed for a couple of nights stay., good shower, big enough bed, TV etc. Its very dog friendly (I ain't but it doesn't bother me as it's the lakes). I would stay again, didn't take a lot of pics.

The rooms even though it was clean, more than adequate and we felt comfortable and relaxed, probably needed updating. However, this is a fairly big place so it is something that cannot happen overnight as it looks like they started with the pub. Don't let it put you off, it's more than enough.

We like the pub and the location . Good selection of beers and really good breakfast and evening meals . The room was really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and nice to see that Bridge Inn icon Humphrey was still there . Perfect location for some great walks and scenery .

Slight disappointment that we were told late on our last night that our breakfast was not at the property due to staff shortages . We had to drive to the Irton Hall , but breakfast there was really nice there also .

The location was perfect for us. Breakfast was excellent and our room was lovely. It had lots of character. My partner loved dinner, the steak and ale pie was amazing. Lots of real ale options.

I was a little disappointed about dinner. I ordered an open goats cheese sandwich but felt it was very expensive considering what it was. We waited quite a while for food, I think it was nearly 40 minutes in the end but I think there was an issue in the kitchen as I overheard a staff member saying they had made a mistake . One lovely member of staff was obviously training two new members and had to keep telling them to do simple things as well as fixing things they hadn't done. I've had to train staff in that environment many times so I don't envy him at all and he kept very calm and served everyone as fast as he could.

Great pub and food - great location to stay for Sca Fell Pike - bar staff pleasant and friendly, lady for first morning breakfast very pleasant, different lady for breakfast second morning was extremely rude and unpleasant. Breakfast was excellent -cost for single room great value. recommend this hotel but not the single rooms.

Staff member on second day for breakfast - very grumpy and extremely rude even though there was just myself and 2 other people sitting for breakfast. No fruit juice or water and when asked was moaning and a very unpleasant woman. Dread to think if more people than 3 were sat for breakfast. Not sure what the issue was with her. Her attitude has resulted in my poor score for the hotel. Single rooms are small - I mean very small- bed has no head board and again very narrow so so uncomfortable. The hotel wasn't full - maybe a free upgrade to a decent room would help the reviews. If you stay in a single room be prepared for a rough time. That said what to expect for what I paid and breakfast included.

From arriving later than we expected amd checking out early the next morning, the staff were absolutely fantastic!! All very polite. The food was delicious....there was a wait for the food, however it was very much worth it once it arrived. The bedrooms were lovely and cosy , we all had a very good night's sleep. We also had a packed lunch made for us as we departed early. After a huge hike up Skafell Pike and a dip in the river leading to wastwater, we headed back to the bridge Inn for a perfect tea of scampi and chips before making our way home back to lancashire - the chunky chips are absolutely amazing!! Made the way chips should be made - the old fashioned way. Lovely, lovely, lovely!! Thank-you bridge inn for making birthday memorable!!
