Hosts where perfect place and views are totally it was like living in your own grand designs home David and partner definitely gave that experience even though their is plenty to within an hour away we were so entrapped with the beauty nature reserve next door estral 100 ft feet in front off you with mountai views a beach 5 minute walk totally secluded england coastal path at back gate shops within walking distance we has no reason to explore anywhere else it was surreal perfect relax from hustles of live thak you Mr and Mrs David I hope many enjoy the experience we had see you again

Leaving to come home lol

I loved the house which I thought was a 1950s Modernist house at first but it's fairly new and based on the look of a harbour master's house. A stunning location and views with interesting walks around it, lagoons and coastal walks which used to be old industrial areas. David was very friendly and helpful.

Booking.com described the breakfast as superb breakfast, which implied, I imagined it was a full English breakfast so I was surprised it was a continental help yourself breakfast. Different loaves, a bag of brioche, butter and jams, teas and coffees, orange juice. This would have been alright and the seating has a fantastic view and I would still have booked it but I would have liked it to have been clear.

Carol and David were great hosts, being friendly and accommodating. The room was bright and airy, with a very comfortable bed and beautiful views. It was nice to be able to help ourselves to food in the atrium dining room at any time. A selection of pastries, muffins and cakes was available, along with croissants, bread for toast, butter and yogurt. So you wouldn’t go hungry! Fresh fruit was also available. All in all, a lovely and peaceful stay.

No problems with the hotel.

This place is brilliant. I stayed here when doing a ‘Wild Weekend’ with Cumbrian Heavy Horses. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. It was really useful to have the fridge and microwave available for guests to use, and the self-service breakfast and drinks available at all times. There was also always water and fruit available in the corridor. David was so friendly and welcoming. It was a lovely quiet location overlooking the sea and I enjoyed evening strolls along the coast path. I would definitely stay here again.

At the risk of sounding like a coffee snob, there is only instant coffee (I brought some filter coffee and a mini-cafetière with me).

The room and facilities were great, David and Carol were great hosts, Carol even came outside to make sure everything was OK as we had our car bonnet up as the coolant was low and enquired if we needed help but we just needed a top up of water , but I know she would've helped if needed 😊

The bed was very bouncy more like a water bed, my husband toss's and turns in a normal bed but this one made me feel like I was on a water bed i moved every time my husband moved 🤣

The hosts live upstairs and were quite warm and friendly. They gave us a great orientation tour and answered all our questions. They thought of many small details like providing reusable bottles of water and having a few snacks. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious with plenty of hot water. The home was impeccably clean. The location is remote, which was our desire, but still only about a 7-8 minute drive from center of town. Highly recommend.

The breakfast items were mainly prepackaged muffins and cereals. Fresh bread was available for toast. That's only a small detail, really. Overall, it was a great place.

Listening to bird song whilst having breakfast in the beautiful Atrium, which overlooked a wildflower meadow and the Duddon estaury and surrounding mountains. Nearby there is a ruined harbour and a short walk to a bird reserve.

my husband would have prefered a bath instead of a shower, but you cant have everything !!!

The hosts where extremely friendly and helpful. They did not provide a cooked breakfast but had a meals area that had a microwave, air fryer, fridge, kettle etc that you could use any time. Cereal, yoghurt, bread, pastries 🥐, muffins and fruit 🍎 where available to eat all day. You can buy food in town and bring it back to prepare if you want. Lovely setting and good areas for a walk.

The mattress was a bit soft for us but other people might find it ok … we have back issues and prefer a firm mattress.

The house was stunning and clean and the views amazing. David and Carol were very welcoming and we were free to come and go as we wished. Bed extremely comfortable and linen smelled lovely. Wish we had one of the front bedrooms as the view was stunning not sure why we didn't we would have loved that. Lots of breakfast stuff available.

We would have liked better barbecue facilities, we would have expected a built in bbq in that wonderful back garden. We had brought bbq stuff as it was in the description but there was only a standard bbq we would have had to pull round and there weren't facilities to clean it afterwards. A sink in the kitchen area would have been nice there was a point where there were no cups left and we had no wash up facilities. Furniture was a bit old but perfectly serviceable.

Fantastic value for money, the hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly but were not intrusive. A fantastic choice of fruits, breakfast items, juice etc which was available at all hours which was very welcome after a long day of tourism when we couldn’t be bothered to drag our 3 year old back out for dinner. Lovely garden and path along to the beach. The room was perfectly clean and the view was lovely. A lovely little gem of a place which was great value for money.
