The hotel was good, the food was good, the location was easy to get to and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay!

The mattress was too hard, consequently our nights sleep was to say the least quite uncomfortable!!! Thankfully our room was quite quiet where we were! We also dont like being called 'guys' when being seated and served in the restaurant! It seems to be a new thing amongst serving staff in restaurants. It is an Americanism and for some, it has replaced the politeness of a 'yes Sir or Madam'. We appreciate that you are not a Prestige hotel, however good manners go a long way with your patrons and for those of us who are old school or from a vintage era..!!!

Nice property close to a beach peaceful and quiet bar / restaurant nice everywhere was dog friendly ! staff in bar / restaurant so lovely ! They were all so lovely and helpful and plenty of treats for our dog!! We had dinner on Sunday and it was tasty our server was lovely !! All the staff encountered expect the receptionist on arrival was lovely and helpful!!

The miserable receptionist who checked us in clearly annoyed by us turning up huffed and puffed away asked for my card when i asked if she will authorise it she said no i case you break something … i work in hotels and never have i been this rude to anyone… the room had no lamp or chair hairdryer i had to get from reception and got an iron but now board … just a few little things….

Lovely staff felt very welcomed and comfortable. The food was incredible ,the area was gorgous and peaceful.The view from the window was immaculate and definitely a huge highlight of the room and we loved watching the sunset it took our breath away.

My only concern was that I saw a chef in the kitchen with quite a long beard and hair and I was worried a hair might end up in my food ,luckily it didn't but the initial sight and thought did worry myself and my partner. The TV however didn't work I did try to retune it but it said the signal and tv aerial weren't connecting or something, I looked behind the tv and saw the aerial wasn't plugged in and when I tried to plug it in it wouldn't stay in the socket so the tv was unusable but that wasn't a major issue.

Very spacious and clean hotel. Parking is great and free. Safe play area for children. Dog friendly. Staff in the restaurant very kind and helpful in the evening restaurant and at breakfast, checking in ok although, receptionist didn’t seem she wanted to be there, a smile would have been nice to be more welcoming. 7 minute drive to the dunes but a little far to walk for those who are not walkers and the very narrow road could be dangerous. Parking at the dunes is pay by app, £1.50 per hour.

Fridge in the room could have done with a clean inside. Water did not stay in the sink to cool the Artois as the fridge was not cold.

In a lovely location away from busy towns hidden in the countryside and only 3 minutes from the beach. The hotel has a lovely exterior with a presentable reception. The restaurant and garden have a welcoming feeling and the bar staff are lovely. The rooms are a large size with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are a little outdated but otherwise good to use. The Dunes is a dog friendly establishment.

The tv in the rooms are tiny. You may aswell put your phone on the wall to watch so there's not really any point using them. House keeping never replenished the toilet rolls as my wife and I were here for 4 days. We did find a dog hair in the bed.

Gorgeous hotel! Loved the decor especially in the dining area and the chef on the evening was exceptional! We had a Sunday dinner and the sausage and mash and both were so tasty!

The breakfast wasn’t very good, think because the hotel was quiet it had been sat there all morning from opening and we went down for 8.30am and everything was overcooked and the lady serving in breakfast was so rude and totally changed our opinion of our wonderful stay from the night prior….i would say everyone in that room would have the same opinion of her…. id change the staff up to have one of the other friendly members of staff greeting you in a morning instead of her. The two men on dinner service were so lovely and helpful and friendly and the girl receptionist that checked us in was also! So it’s a shame she let the team down.

I booked this hotel for my mothers 80th birthday stay 2 nights 1st night we invited family down for a meal. Check in was fairly easy Hannah at reception was very helpful and polite. I had booked dinner on the 1st night in the hotel for a family birthday celebration. The hotel provided us with a private area the champagne room to have our meal as there was 12 of us which was nice. We had to put in a pre order for our meal and everything came out starters and mains with no issues the service was quick and very efficient the staff were all very attentive during our evening dinner and any request were all met. I had a birthday cake for my mother which they kept for me in the kitchen and brought out when we requested after our meal. They gave us plates and a knife to cut the cake and the left over cake they wrapped for us to take away. After dinner we sat in the bar for after drinks. There was a wedding on during the day and night but was held in the other side of the hotel so you didnt feel instrusive. Our 2nd day we took a taxi over to walney for Sunday lunch then came back to hotel for drinks I asked the staff for a knife and plates again so we could enjoy some of the birthday cake again. We were the only ones in the bar so was nice and quiet. We were all satisfied with our rooms we were given upgrades at a discounted price as it was a special birthday and I requested an extra bed in one room which they set up a zed bed which I was told was comfortable. The hotel grounds are lovely. All in all we had a lovely stay at this hotel and would recommendband use again

Is a bit out of the way but easily to get a taxi into local town

Nice hotel, the location was great for us as we were visiting for a show. It is remote which we liked though it may not be for everyone if you want to walk to town. The room was spacious and clean, lots of storage although we didn't need it as we only stayed for the night. We had a drink and meal in the hotel before going out, meal was really nice and the staff were helpful. Dog friendly, we didn't have our dog with us, but would consider coming back and bringing the dog.

Only things were the room could be more modern, but it was clean and so it wasn't a particular issue for us. We had a roof space and had to climb on the bed to open the velux, which may be difficult for some people. The bathroom was a wet room which was fine but could do with a shower curtain or mop in the room as the bathroom was wet for a while after showering.

Good choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereals and cooked breakfast. Very welcoming young man with a wonderfully positive outlook on life. He took the time to explain where everything was and generally made me feel welcome! The food was regularly topped up from the kitchen to the servers. Nice and spacious area to eat inside and out.

The room was too warm for me, radiator on in bathroom, so I happily slept with the velux window open. I took the opportunity to peep out during the night and managed to catch a glimpse of the full red moon, twas a bonus!!

The food was very tasty, We did have to wait along time for our food but when it came, it was good. The staff were young and very polite but we have 3 separate mistakes with our food and drinks order. There were 2 older members of the restaurant front of house staff but this didn't seem to help. We have stayed many times at The Dunes but it's the first time we've had an evening meal. Maybe, we won't try it again. It wouldn't stop us staying again, we've eat breakfast twice and that has always been a good experience.
