First of all, I wanted to say what hard working staff they have. A special mention to both Amy and Michael. From entering the hotel to leaving the hotel, it was a lovely experience. Our bedroom was newly refurbished. You definitely need to prebook their restaurant, Oscar's if you are there on a Friday or Saturday night! The food we had was absolutely gorgeous! The featherblade beef and the beef wellington was amazing!

That there wasn't more comforty chairs and tables in the bar area inside.

The staff was very warm and welcoming, making check-in very smooth. The room was great, very comfortable, and with a lovely view. I stopped here to rest for a night before travelling further north and it was the perfect place to have a rest. I had a drink in the bar before dinner in the restaurant, and again, the staff was very friendly and it was really nice to see the them being able to have a laugh with each other whilst still providing great service. Food was very good and I felt well looked after. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. Check-out was quick/easy and I really appreciated check-out wasn't until 11am, which gives you a chance to have a rather leisurely morning. All around an excellent experience and I will definitely be coming back!

A beautiful hotel. Designed by Edwyn Lutyens 1914, this hotel is worth staying at just to marvel at the architecture. Our room overlooked the entrance drive and had a lovely view of the neatly kept garden to the front. The room was comfortable and quiet, with tea/coffee and bottled water provided. A wide screen TV , comfy bed and powerful shower we're Stand out facilities. The staff, from Reception, Housekeeping to Restaurant/Bar were all polite and helpful. Notably, the weekend we stayed there were 2 wedding functions on. Neither impacted on our stay or caused any disturbances. We would recommend this hotel.

It was my friends wedding it was amazing food was amazing & staff were lovely & helpful

I booked last may @ £126 when it should have been £150 paid straight away to get the cheaper rate or it would have been £150 my friends booked where they could cancel they all cancelled as 2 weeks before the rooms went for £87 at least 5 of my friends got better deals leaving it till last min also I messaged to get a kingsize bed but only got a double all my friends that paid £39 lest got suites or better rooms than me paying loads more so that was a bit disappointing I couldn’t cancel to rebook as I didn’t have that option 😢

From beginning to end the service was fantastic, Esther on reception was maticulos, professional, and had fantastic knowledge of the area. The manager was very courteous and engaged with us, told us all about great offers and was extremely accommodating to my diabetic needs. Felt very welcomed. Grounds are beautiful building sensational. The room was everything we wanted and more. Massive bonus was the under floor heating in the bathroom, I could of happily stayed in there for the night 😂. The breakfast was plentiful and had exceptional quality from locally sourced farms. Continental, English, vegan .... Beautiful.

Only thing I would change if I HAD TOO. would be the pillows, a little on the harder side but I still managed a really good sleep 😴

Breakfast is not buffett - eat as much as you can - though the croissants and yoghurt and fruit salad are eat as much as you can. Cooked breakfast you have to order. The room was clean but could be cleaner as we were expecting it to be squeaky clean on the basis of what we had seen. Dinner was not good. We liked the carrot and orange soup but the edamame pods side dish was one that we could not eat. The baked butternut and lentil wellington was not good to taste. The falafel and coriander croquette was not appealing either but we were very hungry so we had to eat. The buttered roast vegetables were good but too rich. There is massive room for improvement on these dishes. Plus the website highly recommends that you book their restaurant when you stay there - Oscars - as it is very busy over the weekend. We did not book it and we managed to find a table. It was not that busy.

Food as described above.

Breakfast which was included was amazing, every morning we were greeted with smiles and the selection for the continental was vast and amazing. Also the choices on the menu for the cooked options were something to be desired, i had something different all 3 mornings of our stay . We had an evening meal on the last night of our stay and that was excellent as well and just charged it to my room.

There wasn't anything really, that I didn't like. There was loud music from the weddings of the evenings. But we were told of this before hand via email and again when we arrived. And to be completely honest it really didn't bother myself or my wife. We found ways to distract ourselves.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The hotel and grounds are fabulous and maintained to the highest standard. Our room was amazing. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to the Craven Suite. What a fabulous room! Large, modern, beautifully decorated, and luxurious. The entire staff at this hotel are wonderful. Friendly, helpful, and ultimate professionals. An amazing hotel and staff. An absolute must stay if you are in the area. Thank you to everyone at Abbey House for making our stay so wonderful.

Room decor and bed was very comfortable with all the extras needed, good selection of hot drinks and water

Our room was 2 floors above the dance floor, where a wedding was taking place, this was noisy, which we was informed about, but a lot of wedding guests on our floor, so there was a lot of commotion and doors banging from midnight to 1am ish, then it quietened down, so we didn’t really have a quite room. It would have been nice if we was in another area away from wedding guests.

Very attractive environment, spectacular building and grounds, lovely to walk through and to walk in 5 mins to local attraction of Abbey ruins centre, easy free parking, exceptionally attractive bedroom suite for my 4 nights. Very friendly and approachable staff, gym. Dinner was excellent - twice I had great steak. Lovely dining rom and breakfast rooms and even a marque to use. Handy for local shops and pubs/restaurants and the beach. They responded well to my egg requests. A wedding took place every day by chance, but there was no problem with parking or noise despite live bands playing - they even supplied ear plugs for guests, which were not necessary even though I was directly above the function room :-) Very friendly staff and in the bar, dining room, at reception and in the grounds. Especially in the restaurant, the lively (I think called Wawa) waitress being exceptionally fun and smiley. Richard the groundsman is very welcoming and does an excellent job making the lawns look perfect :-) Good menu for dinner, something for everyone and not expensive. No wonder that it is popular for weddings.

Let down by breakfast service - extremely slow even at quiet times, and repeatedly I had things missing and had to wait to get what I'd ordered. Breakfast toast seemed thin lifeless cheap bread, barely toasted, I had to ask each time for it to be toasted more. I know its is very subjective, but the porridge was watery, thin and tasteless. Many staff milling around, but none scanning the room to see if anyone wants anything or clearing away when they brought things out - hence the slow service.
