The check-in process was smooth and there is a free car-park directly opposite to the hotel. Our room was clean, spacious and well-equipped. I liked the tea and coffee selection and the biscuits were a nice touch. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom was the biggest bathroom I have ever seen and there was a nice selection of toiletries. There was a good selection of hot food at breakfast and the service was fast and efficient.
We were served the worst cups of coffee after our dinner in the restaurant. The food was lovely but please sort out the coffee. the coffee at breakfast was good so I know you can do it.

room staff and service were all as expected, I have stayed here before and it is a pleasant hotel to stay in. The rooms are nicely furnished and the staff are very nice.
The only thing I dislike, and there is nothing the hotel can do about it, is the road noise outside the hotel. This comment is really for other customers to be aware of. The hotel is on the corner of two busy roads and unfortunately it seems like every young lunatic with a super loud exhaust system and huge stereo in their car, like to use that particular junction, so you may not get a good nights sleep.

An interesting and excellent quality hotel with character in a central location. Free parking across the road and an easy walk into town. The staff were helpful, professional and friendly. An older, traditional building that has been sympathetically modernized, including a nicely fitted-out bar, used by residents and locals, with discreet background music, a nice selection of local brews and a good atmosphere.
Slightly noisy in my road-facing room, but not to the point of disturbing sleep.

A well appointed, clean and modern hotel. Exactly as I would expect a hotel to be. Although an old building that I remember from my childhood it has obviously been completely renovated and the rooms are modern and clean. The food is excellent and the breakfasts superb.
The hotel location lends itself to very limited parking offsite from the hotel itself and no offer of assistance was made with our baggage or if we needed assistance with baggage - some disabilities are not obvious. The reception would do well to ask as the car park is across two major roads. We are not disabled but it did stick in my mind for other patrons. Returning to the car park in the evening all spaces were taken (approx. 20) so we had to park in a pay (by app.. a nightmare for the technically challenged - me!) and display.

A little deceiving from the outside as it looks a little run down, but only closer do you realise it’s a listed building! Very clean and you can see they have held onto a lot of original features of the building including the lift! The room was plush and big, bed so comfy I didn’t want to leave it. Plush carpets. The staff were super helpful and friendly - including one who turned out to be a mixologist and created me my very own cocktail! Sorry I didnt catch your name but you were fab!
Nothing not to like

Room was spacious with a huge walk in shower, everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the staff - especially Michelle on reception - couldn't have been more helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was lovely and very reasonably priced. Location was great too - will definitely be back!
The mattress cover on the sofa bed sounded like someone was eating crisps in bed every time the kids moved, had to get up and check - definitely the cover and not the kids eating crisps

Great rooms and excellent bars and atmosphere
Maybe not offer to have the bar as a Carlisle travelling fans pub as it was chaos. We came for the game, but left the bar and went elsewhere due to the chaotic nature of those fans escorted off the train and straight into the Duke Of Ed Bar. Bad move!! We came for the game, but are not young football hooligans.

We stayed in an executive suite for two nights, first night of our stay, we looked at the size of room we had and it seemed smaller than we thought it would of been especially for the price, as we had to book through booking.com as when we rang the hotel direct we were told there was no executive’s suites available yet they were available on booking.com, so we went ahead and booked it, fast forward my husband speaks to manager and after only 5 minutes of speaking with him, which we found strange like he knew it just wasn’t what we had paid for, anyway he offered us a choice of executive suites we would be able to move to for the final nights stay at 11am the next day, I presumed when others had checked out! also he added breakfast on to our stay for the two nights which was fabulous of him. The manager and staff were great only downside the food at breakfast time were just a let down the first day the sausage came out burnt and the fried egg was rock hard and more or less the same the second day, defo rate the hotel would stay again but not both with the breakfast

The room was very spacious with a lovely comfortable bed. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, iron and toiletries. The room looked out over the Main Street, but there was absolutely no road noise; the double glazing was brilliant. The staff were very helpful, especially Barry on reception who helped us with advice on where to find local amenities. Free parking, just across the road is very handy.
Nothing to complain about at all.

The hotel was lovely, we were on the ground floor which is great for me as I have walking difficulties, the room was spacious with a lovely en-suite bathroom which has a lovely roll top bath with separate shower cubicle the whole place looked very 50s which was beautiful had no faults with the hotel and the staff were perfectly happy and helpful, if this hotel was in another place id certainly go back and recommend it to family and friends.
We didn't like the town this lovely hotel was situated in. On the internet it stated that there was a shopping centre with a variety of stores with great places to shop eat and have a good time. When we were walking around, Barrow in Furness we saw that the shopping centre is closed there was plenty of barber shops, charity shops and an in door market but nothing to say that we would go back or recommend Barrow in Furness to anyone, if it wasn't for having a lovely hotel I think we would have left after looking round the town centre. There is absolutely nothing going on and I don't think we'd go back.
