The food was very tasty, We did have to wait along time for our food but when it came, it was good. The staff were young and very polite but we have 3 separate mistakes with our food and drinks order. There were 2 older members of the restaurant front of house staff but this didn't seem to help. We have stayed many times at The Dunes but it's the first time we've had an evening meal. Maybe, we won't try it again. It wouldn't stop us staying again, we've eat breakfast twice and that has always been a good experience.

Wonderful, welcoming duty manager, despite our quite late check in! Staff were all friendly and the breakfast was lovely. One of the best buffet breakfast scrambled eggs I've ever had! Ideally located as it's near to the main motorway, however it's just far enough out that it's quiet and peaceful. The decor is really well done and there's a lot of attention to detail. Bravo to the designer! We will keep this as one of our places to stay when we need a few nights break away from our busy jobs.

The bathroom could do with an update - the sealant around the bath was a messy job and the bath was chipped, but the shower was fine. Overall with this being our only complaint, I'd say that's pretty good going!

The property is easy to get too, very warm and welcoming as you go inside and is decorated really nicely all way through from the entrance to the reception, restaurant and rooms. The staff were so friendly and gave our dog loads of attention and treats. We booked in at the Coast restaurant and couldn’t believe the quality and affordability of the food and drinks! The portion sizes were very generous.

The room we stayed in had a sky light window so it couldn’t be opened and during the night the room did get very warm which made it quite uncomfortable and our dog couldn’t settle. Some of the guests were quite noisy and you could hear the doors closing but that was to be expected for a Saturday evening.

The hotel inside is very well presented. The room we had was big and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was out of the way, so it was peaceful. The staff were always smiling, which is a plus, always nice to see. Dog friendly. We have dogs but didn't bring them. The food was reasonably priced and very nice. I would definitely come back again.

Although I like the idea of it being dog friendly, you should try to keep the dogs away from people who haven't got dogs as it may put people off whilst eating. I did see the separation rooms, so maybe that was the split, but if so, we weren't told.

The quality of the evening meal and service was great, as was my bedroom, very nice and comfortable!

Breakfast was the only negative I had, it was okay but not up to the quality of the evening meal.. My colleague suffered a dreadfully disturbed night due to a dog in the bedroom next or near to him that barked the majority of the night! He was too polite to complain as like me he has dog's so all in favour of you being pet friendly, however the owner should have dealt with this better and I think it only fair you are aware of it..

From arrival we had a quick check in and entered our room. It was so clean, spacious, amazing view, comfortable bed, great shower. Was very warm as it had it been a very warm day. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was amazing and staff are a valuable commodity by far.

The room was warm, too warm really and the hotel didn't supply fans, there was no heating controls! No hooks for coats or towels in the bathroom, no shelf in the shower so you have to keep everything on the floor! Very limited plug sockets and non near a mirror (not good for women!) The wardrobe was unstable and furniture just out of line, but all in all the bed was comfy and breakfast was amazing!!!

I’ve stayed here before, lovely hotel and great location. The food is very good and the bar is open late on weekends (sometimes 24 hours). Free parking and some staff are lovely.

The economy room was terrible, I couldn’t book my usual double/twin room as the Saturday was fully booked. The shower door was broken off the hinges, shower attachment itself was ready to fall off the wall, terrible water pressure, toilet flush barely worked and the button was broken, vanity light didn’t work, very small double bed, no fridge or hair dryer, small cramped room. Breakfast staff were rude, spoke to me like I was a toddler when asking about where I can sit, they were on their phones, few swear words heard across the room.

Really nice design and feels very cosy at the Dunes Hotel. Lovely location and nice for a quiet relaxing break, really liked the interior throughout the hotel. The rooms were spacious and very nice, the bed was comfy and would definitely consider returning.

We had an issue with one of our meals which was the only flaw of our trip. However the staff dealt with it well, offered us a refund on that meal and offered to make a new one which was good. A couple of round of drinks on the house would have been nice, but at least a refund for the food was offered. Apart from that it was all good.

The Dunes is located on the outskirts of Barrow in Furness, not far from the estuary. The hotel is quite modern and well appointed. Room was clean and comfortable, although I did struggle with the shower, which was very small. Good cooked breakfast, and passable coffee. No complaints about the accommodation, although probably best to check ahead to see if there are any functions on first.

Only gripe was the hotel was hosting a wedding reception and the other guests were less than considerate. Very drunk and very noisy!

Breakfast was v good, the evening meal we had was excellent. We have stayed before so no surprises with the room which were of high standard, only negative was the postage size tv, but you don’t go away to watch tv so we will forgive them for that. Our only complaint was not with the staff but rowdy and foul mouthed neighbours. When we mentioned this to the receptionist we did not approve of the loud foul language, we were moved without hesitation, without even asking to be moved. All credit to the staff for that. We also had 3 dogs with us but they were welcomed by all staff who made a great fussy over hem. Only reason they didn’t get full marks is I never give the top marks to anyone or anything. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Size of tv was our only gripe but as I say you don’t go away to watch tv.
