I'm a girl, and I stayed for a whole week. I was a little worried about security on my way to the guesthouse, but after meeting the owner and his wife, I felt so much better. The owner's super friendly, and he keeps the place really nice, and he's totally professional. I felt safe the whole time; the whole family is really welcoming.

I have nothing bad to say, the best part is they clean the room every day, which I really liked. It's a super safe place with a code on the door and cameras, so I'd totally recommend you stay here.

The place was very convenient for the train station and also close to the venue my sister was getting married. The price was excellent…. I actually think they should charge more especially after hearing what other guests at the wedding had paid for other places. It was immaculate and felt very cozy and was nice and quiet. Excellent comms from the owner and staff regarding check in. The fact it was a family run place instead of a big name place made it even better and it was clear the owners take great pride in what they offer…. Absolutely faultless and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would happily stay there again. Unfortunately they don’t really have an up to date FB page or many reviews which I seriously don’t understand…. Maybe they are busy enough without it but they should be very proud of what they have and shouting it from the rooftops…. It’s too easy for people to find fault these days and jump on the keyboard, but credit where it’s due. So thank you Maindee Guest house, and also your staff…. Very happy customer and I have no problem giving a big fat 10 out of 10 👌

Right next to the train station 🚉 😀 the host Was kind and put WiFi direct on the phone for me ..showed me my room even offered to Carry my bag 🎒 up ..the place was spotless my room was spotlessly clean with tea and coffee facilities. The shared bathrooms were incredibly clean ..can not fault this place and will be staying again..only down side was no breakfast..but you can go to the Duke of Edinburgh just a few mins walk away for that and opposite there is a Tesco if you need anything ...its the perfect place ✨️

Cleanliness

Working away with work and staying at this lovely B&B The family who run it are absolutely lovely and very helpful. Anything you need they go out there way and get whatever you need. Ian and his wife and son are always around and keep the place absolutely spanking clean. The rooms are very spacious and clean with new bedding and fresh towels on the bed every day. The location is brilliant and the Wi-Fi is. Great value for money lovely place to stay.

Hosts very welcoming, attentive to the needs of guests. Helpful with information about the town etc. Clean and comfortable, l felt relaxed and comfortable. The place is close to the train station and city centre. It's opposite a beautiful park.

There is nothing l could fault, the building is well looked after and service is good.

The owners were lovely and friendly and really accommodating- they were helpful when I had noisy neighbours and even put my drivers license under the door when I dropped it on the way out one evening. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and the shared areas were spotless. I even got to meet the puppies who were there for the day!

The only problem was there were kids in the room next to mine who were playing games and watching TV really loudly til the early hours. The next day Ian the owner gave me his number in case they did it again. Great service.

The owner was very helpful and accommodating. We were given a room next to the shared bathroom but no one was using it during our stay. We had a very good kip since we needed a room for a night due to the family emergency. This place met our needs very well.

Great location and a great base for stay. Owners are lovely and felt safe. Clean rooms had everything I needed was no frills but had tv and drinks tray. Bed comfy too.

No breakfast however easily accessible close by. Dated decor but have started on this.

The service and attention shown by the hosts was exemplary and made the stay most enjoyable and relaxing. And the location is unbeatable for the train station, bus stops and town centre.

The location suited our purpose, being within walking distance to the town centre but quiet at night too Ian couldn't do enough and was a welcoming host. He even cleared his yard, so we had off-street parking for our bikes
