Great location, comfortable beds, easy check-in.
The staff had twice (once over the phone and once in person) indicated to us that we would be able to leave our baggage for a Cumbria Way luggage transfer. In practice, when we woke up the next morning, the bar was all locked up, there was no other reception area, and there was no staff on site. Nobody was picking up the phone, either. After about 20 minutes, we ended up flagging down one of the kitchen staff who was coming into work, and she agreed to handle our baggage. But the experience was stressful, and it was very unclear what we were supposed to do.

Very reasonablely priced, the council car park is 30 seconds away (if you download the app at the car park it's much cheaper do not use the machine), not overpriced at the bar either and the location couldn't be any better with amenities located withing walking distance, great if ure going to the cartmel races as only 20 mins away and spotlessly clean

For the money you really can’t go wrong. Very clean and bright room. Shared bathroom but it was only down the hall. I stayed on a Monday night before doing the Cumbria way, they unfortunately weren’t doing food but recommended plenty of other places to go. Also Greggs and a Tesco’s a very short walk away.

the room and facilities were great apart from not very clean. staff in the bar were lovely and helpful. location was brilliant, did not have breakfast so can't comment on that.
room didn't look like it had been cleaned, there were old newspapers and a packet of opened crackers left in bedside drawers. there was a wet towel on top of bedside cabinet and floor hadn't been brushed or hoovered as there was loads of dirt on the floor. my daughter went downstairs to ask for a brush to brush the floor and was met by a very rude cleaner who was trying to say that she had hoovered!!! the sinks in the kitchen area were dirty and i was even sceptical that the sheets on the beds had been changed??? I did not complain when we were there as we didn't always see staff, and when we did they were very busy in the bar. there was no tv in family room as was supposed to have.

Spacious room, comfortable beds. I like having a proper bathroom too, I’m not a fan of cramped en suite facilities. Excellent central location.
Nothing really, although it would have been useful to know that no one would be around in the morning, as there was nowhere to leave our bag to be collected by Sherpa van. This was quite tricky but we were helped out by the very kind owner of the guest house across the street.

Perfect location for touring this part of the country, the bar food was lovely, and the quaint shops all around walking distance made it that bit more special, book dinner well in advance, esp at the weekends as everywhere get fully booked. I will come back again.
The place is pretty plain but lovely, everything worked for us. Even the shared shower room.

Rooms above a good pub with great staff. No en-suite but a perfectly nice shared bathroom that was clean. Very central so ideal for Ulverston. You can hear the pub below of course but it closes about 11-11.30pm and doesn’t open early so no issues.

Room and hotel was stunning, staff were extremely friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed staying here and if I'm ever back in the lakes, I'll make sure to stay here. Top class all around!
Nothing could have been better tbh.

Stayed there to start my journey on the Cumbria Way walk. Perfect way to start the walk early next day. Breakfast not provided but able to top up with food before setting off. Ideal place to stay.
It was ideal for what I needed.

great location, central in town and easy walking distance to all pubs and bars, very accessible and parking on site is a huge bonus
had a disturbance with other guests in the early hours of the morning, not the hotels fault but there was a big argument outside our bedroom door which made it difficult to sleep
