Staff were amazingly and friendly willing to go the extra mile to help with the enjoyment of being in the local area , great selection of drinks in the bar the locals all happy to chat and make you feel welcome , room was what we expected hot water and good power for the shower, room was clean bedding and towels all fresh and bed was comfy had a lovely nights sleep , tv , kettle and tea ,coffee ,hotchocolate and bottled water facilities in room with extra available if we needed right outside our room . The globe inn was very much an ideal stay for us as travelling out 3000 miles around the uk coastline.we will be very happy to use again when we passing through, thanks so much for making us feel welcome

Nothing was to dislike

Great location and very cheap. Other guests have commented it's needs refurbishment and they are right but we personally liked the laid back style. Back of the pub is always open so just walk in to your room (which does have a lock). Gosforth is a very small village with a great sense of community so no issues.

While we liked the fact we were left to our own devices we wished the towels were changed after our 2nd night.

Perfect location for us as it was just a 20 minute drive from the bottom of Scafell pike we had climbed that day! Very friendly greeting upon arrival and the room itself was absolutely spotless. The facilities were basic but everything we needed and more than we expected for the price of the room.

Our only problem was that there was no onsite parking. There was a free car park nearby however this seemed to get very busy.

Location and value for money is fab. We stayed for one night and makes a good & affordable base for hiking Scafell Pike. The room is better than what we expected & had the basic necessities that you’ll need. We appreciated how clean it was. Free parking located 200 yards from the property which was great. Local shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

One downside was how much we heard from the room above- which made it difficult to get off to sleep. Interior walls needs some re-painting as there’s areas where it looks run down. Other than that, the Inn is well kept.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of towels and a nice hot, powerful shower. All kinds of drinks were provided, including a bottle of spring water, which I thought was a nice touch. The TV and Wifi worked well.

It felt a little impersonal, leaving in the morning without seeing anyone. It would have been nice if there had been some food and/or real ale in the bar.

We had a very nice stay at a good quality/price ratio. We were very welcome with our 2 dogs, with no extra fee charge. Will be back again!

we were late but they made accommodations for us. pet friendly. decent size room . a Corby trouser press! tea and water and coffee and biscuits much appreciated! nice hot shower ! very comfy bed !!! really pleased we found it !

shame we couldn’t get breakfast and yam cafe next door which looked lovely also closed Sunday/ Monday . able to get croissants from Budgen’s up the road though. parking tricky at night arriving ( tiny village single road ) but I later found a car park 3 min walk away which would have been fine if I had seen it

It was just what we needed a clean, comfortable room for the night whilst visiting the lake district at short notice. It was exactly what you would expect for what you pay for. The staff were friendly, the pub below had reasonable priced drinks and you could not hear any noise from the room. Perfect location to reach a number of well known walks.

The location was very good, with most of the necessities close by. TV was placed at a good angle and able to turn to the direction of user's choice. Trouser warmers were available in every room. Hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and water, along with boilers, were available in every room.

Curtains aren't dark enough. The shower tap is the one that you rotate all the way to the hot end. So you get chilling cold water before getting the warm water.

I like the kettle in the room with tea coffee and hot chocolate. The location is absolutely brilliant in beautiful village not far from Wasedale.

I expected the room to be showing the signs of wear and tear from the previous reviews and it didn’t bother me as the room was clean and all I needed for the night.
