Breakfast and other meals was excellent. The room was definitely an 8/10 out of the 17 properties that I stayed at for the C2C Walk in July 2025.

I arrived via taxi very late (actually around 12pm to 1am) due to train issues. I was unsuccessful contacting the hotel via email to notify them of late arrival due to train stoppage. I luckily ran into hotel staff on Friday night at a pub across the street and was able to get into my room. Travelers should make sure they have an international calling plan or SIM card as many of the places on the C2C Walk are remote and there's no guarantee staff (busy) will be on What's App or paying attention to email.

Super friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed for a great stay. We ate breakfast and dinner both days and they were excellent with accommodating allergies including gluten free (their gf fish and chips is excellent! They don’t have gf beer though). The pub is busy on weekends but closes around 11pm, there is another pub across the road which still had some loud patrons after the Manor closed but this wasn’t too bad, we had our window open because of the heat (their is no air conditioning and it was unusually warm 27C) but I think of the window was closed we wouldn’t have heard people outside. Everything was clean and comfortable. The room had coffee, tea, water and biscuits. There was space to put away clothing. When we needed help finding things like taxi or atm they were very helpful and always had time for us even when they were multitasking. The town itself has a lovely beach and the cliff walk that starts the coast to coast is a must-do. We were not there to hike specifically so we got a taxi to the quarry near the St Bees lighthouse and walked back from there to the town which was fabulous.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was clean and had most things needed for a short stay. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, hot meals and toast, plus hot and cold drinks. The hotel had a nice restaurant and the bar area was ppopular on an evening. We stayed for Sunday lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The accommodation was easy to find with its own parking and near to the train station, which was handy.

Some rooms need updating, which I think must be underway, as the room we booked wasn’t available due to it being painted at the end of our stay. We stayed in a front bedroom which had single glazing and it was noisy with traffic from early in the morning during the week. St Bees is small with few amenities, if you want to get away from hustle and bustle, this is ideal but if you want a variety of pubs and restaurants, Whitehaven would suit you better.

Sunday Roast was exceptional lots of meat and veg, sticky toffee pudding was so light and gorgeous custard creamy. Breakfast , which was included was lovely. Our server was efficient, polite and bubbly.

Unfortunately the room let it down by being cold, heating didn’t come on until later. Also large cobwebs in bathroom and sleeping area, something that could be addressed in minutes. Although we overlooked a main road we didn’t hear traffic or customers leaving bar

Clean, well presented, staff were helpful, room was lovely and welcoming, bed very comfortable with bright white crisp bedding. (The towels were probably the best I have had at any hotel) Everything looked brand new and well looked after. Breakfast was lovely, cooked to order with plentyful toast, fruit, cerial, yogurts, etc. The special touch of a welcome card from Jackie who services the room was well received.

The Manor was a great place to stay before starting the Coast to Coast walk with my daughter. It was easy to get to from the train station, the staff was very friendly, the food/drink great, and beds comfortable. The breakfast was especially appreciated as we had a variety of choices and were able to fuel up for the first day. It was also right across from the small village shop where we stocked up on some items. I would definitely stay here again!

The location was just right for us. We needed to travel up to Whitehaven and the hotel is literally 500 yards up the road from the train station. The hotel has it's own car park which is a bonus. All the staff were fantastic and very friendly couldn't ask for more & the food served in the hotel was exceptional.

The only fault I could find was the mattress on the bed it wasn't very comfy. I do prefer a firmer mattress so this could be me being a little picky.

There was nowhere to escape the dreadful and over loud music in the bar area, we could even hear it coming through the floor in our room! Our room needed the bathroom door lock fixing, the sash window repairing/replacing and there was no toilet brush and no anti slip mat for inside the shower.

The property was just a short walk from the train station, however for drivers there is a large car park. We entered the bar area and welcomed in and taken to our room, had the usual complementary stuff, but the teas and coffees were fairly local, and nice, large shower. We had an evening meal excellent and breakfast also excellent, we enjoyed an evening walk around St Bees really enjoyed

Nothing it met all our needs clean and pleasant great staff.

The staff were helpful, the room spacious & the bed comfortable. It was good to have in-house entertainment as well as some across the road. Easy walking distance to the beach.

Room 9's wardrobe was in an odd position & difficult to access. there could have been a clothes rail in the recess by the bed. Food was average & beer prices high.
