We had an incredible stay at Vista de Olas in Mal Pais, which offers stunning views of the Pacific coastline. We were welcomed with warm hospitality by Roger, the owner, and his friendly staff. Roger made it a point to check in with us daily, ensuring that we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our stay.Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The infinity pool was undoubtedly a highlight of our stay. The views from the pool were breathtaking, especially during sunset. We loved relaxing there in the evenings. We also appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly approach, primarily powered by solar energy.Overall, we had a fantastic stay at this eco-friendly hotel. The combination of stunning views, excellent service, and a commitment to sustainability made it a memorable experience

The view is stunning especially at sunset The bathroom is a gem. In general the whole propriety is nice, quite, and well maintained

The majority of the local stuff is unfriendly. If you are looking for a Costa Rican vibe of pura vida you won’t find it here. Although we tried for three days we didn’t get a single smile or a single “bon provecho” “con mucho gusto” from the two ladies taking care of breakfast. The breakfast is also below average for Costa Rican standard

Luxury, peaceful hotel with very friendly staff! The cabin we stayed in is picturesque with unobstructed ocean and beach views. The thoughtful design is classic with a unique feel and the cabin felt really private too. We loved how spaced out the cabins were. We also loved that there is an indoor and outdoor shower and we enjoyed showering under the stars. It was also the first place we have stayed at during our Costa Rica trip that provides shampoo and conditioner which was a nice touch. The infinity pool is a wonderful way to chill and relax with stunning views and we thoroughly enjoyed having a delicious aperol sour while watching the sunset. The hotel is in a tranquil location, which allowed some peace just outside of town to feel more secluded and at one with nature, away from the noisy main road but very walkable to the centre of Santa Teresa to enjoy the beach and restaurants. We were really happy with the location and don’t think we would have liked being in town. The breakfast was delicious and nutritious with fresh fruit and something different on the menu each day. Overall, we loved our stay and the hotel owners were very hospitable. We enjoyed hearing their cool stories and admiring Heidi’s creative eye for driftwood. We will recommend this hotel to our loved ones.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The view was amazing, the pool fab, especially the pool bar that serves cocktails. The garden was spotless, the staff very friendly and helpful. Our host Roger, was able to assist us with what to see and do in addition to helping with our onward journey.

Could do with a proper kettle in the room. Coffee machine was there but I like a hot cup of tea. Xx

Location could not be improved. Our host, the owner, was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our conversations about the area and the hotel.

Would have like a bit more variety in breakfast menu. More information about the very large holes and dips in the very steep dirt road, particularly as we arrived at night, in the dark, would have been appreciated! Better signage at the food of the hill, discreet but visible, would help too.

It’s one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever been to with the most beautiful view. You have a perfect view of the coast from an infinity pool with pool bar. Rooms were huge and so cozy. The owner as well as his team were just amazing and made us feel super welcome. It felt like we were spending time at a friend’s place, even though they were super professional about everything. There food was amazing, too. We’ll definitely come back.

Amazing views from the pool/restaurant area. Clean comfortable casita with ac and ocean view. Owner and employees very nice and helpful. Quiet, small hotel. Free parking. Good breakfast included, with fresh fruit. They have activities run by the hotel like fishing and surf lessons. All in all a great stay!

You don’t sign any bills and we were a bit surprised about the amount we had to pay in the end. No hotel guest can stay at the pool area for a minimum spent. Unfortunately it was very crowded and clothes and towels everywhere

This is the most personal experience I ever had in any hotel. Hotel owner goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Hotel rooms are separate bungalows where you can enjoy your privacy.

Very welcoming staff, wonderful room and excellent facilities (air con, good shower, safety box, fridge and coffee machine in room), great food and cocktails, amazing infinity pool, good breakfast included consisting of fruit, toast, gallo pinto and scrambled eggs, coffee and juice.

This hotel is up a steep dusty hill and is a long walk from the main strip of shops and restaurants in Santa Teresa so taxis/ATVs are required to get around if you’re staying for more than one night.
