This is an old motel that’s a bit tired but it’s clean and comfortable and pet friendly. We were worried that the trucks would keep us awake but they settled down just after 10 pm. There is a great pub just over the road. Lamb shanks were served by a great publican eager to please and happy to chat. A movie on Foxtel tv was good to fill in the evening.

Fixed open louvre window to bathroom which meant keeping the door closed. Not so easy to use the bathroom at night without fully waking up.

An excellent stop for a night while making the drive from Melbourne to Adelaide. It's noisy, but not too bad. The room is bigger than you would think, with all the facilities one could want for a quick stay. The bed and shower were really great too!

For what it is, nothing really - a group were having a conversation outside til 10pm, and the noise carried into the rooms more than one would have thought, so perhaps some extra soundproofing. But really, this place was lovely. Not much to do in Kaniva, and no chance of getting a coffee in town before 8am (or anything else, as everything was shut).

Catarina the manager was such a warm and welcoming face when we arrived worn out and tired after a long drive. She explained places to get dinner that evening and was more than accommodating with offering a cooked breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was the best value meal and was of the highest quality absolutely delicious!!! The manager went above and beyond for us compared to anywhere else we have ever stayed at.

The motel was older and it is not that we didnt like it because it was very clean and just what we needed. But this is the only negative I could possibly find.

The building doesn't look anything exceptional from the outside but inside the room the best possible use had been made of the space to give a really comfortable, clean and well equipped room. There was even an electric blanket in case of cold nights. Chris was exceptionally helpful with information about the best place to eat (Kaniva is a small town with limited facilities) Sadly, we couldn't enjoy the breakfast that we'd hoped for because the town experienced a power outage that morning, the worst one they'd known! The menu had looked really good value for money. Although it's near the main road the traffic noise didn't disturb us at all. If you're looking for somewhere to break your journey between Melbourne and Adelaide this is an excellent choice. Make time for a stroll round the decorated sheep trail and to see the silo art.

I chose this motel as I needed wifi for a zoom meeting that evening. However I had trouble connecting to the network. The reception was still open and the lady showed me the trick, and it worked a treat! No problems with joining my meeting. Otherwise the location was excellent and easy to find as the sun set, and right opposite the hotel for dinner.

I can't really think of anything, basically ticked all the boxes for a good value budget motel.

Christina our host was absolutely fantastic. She greeted us on arrival and made us feel most welcome throughout our stay. Definitely order breakfast while you stay but be prepared the serves are massive. Our room was clean and comfortable and I had the best nights sleep I'd had the entire time we were away. It's everything we wanted and a whole lot more, a perfect end to our trip to unwind in a small town. Can't say enough about the service!!!

Updated modern bathroom but rest of apartment very old and dated, clean and comfortable although bedsheets yellowing and stained, kept awake by trucks but that’s what you get in a country motel on a highway. It was a convenient location for us for a one night stay after a late night function

Bedsheets were clean - felt starchy and pressed -but old stains - need bleaching or replacing

What a memorable stay in a gorgeous little town with some of the most friendly people I have ever met. True country Australia. Cristina was an incredible host and couldn’t have looked after us more. She absolutely spoiled the kids, location was perfect and well the breakfast. Best value ever! You can tell all of the food is made with love. Would definitely stay again.

I loved the warm welcome from Christina on arrival. Despite the fact that she is struggling with a cancer diagnosis, she was bright, cheerful and positive . I travel alone everywhere, and have for over 20 years and I need to travel on a budget. The motel was an older style, however spotlessly clean, fabulous value and exactly what I needed after driving from Melbourne.

The manager was extremely welcoming and upgraded me to a better room. The room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed for my stay. I decided to have breakfast and I must warn you that you won’t leave hungry @ $12 for the meal it is well worth ordering.
