What stood out to us was how clean and safe the hotel felt, with an English-speaking front desk that made communication easy. The private parking area was secure, and the area around the park was well-lit at night, which made us feel comfortable walking around. It’s conveniently located near the town, with some fantastic restaurants just a 10-minute walk away. While the area isn’t the most walkable due to narrow sidewalks and mixed traffic from bikes, cars, and scooters, getting around town is still easy. We also loved the local vendors and the warm hospitality of the Mayan people—it added so much charm to our stay.

Our stay at Hotel Posada San Juan in Valladolid was truly magical. The hotel, set in an old Spanish colonial building, features a central galería that opens to a beautifully maintained garden and pool, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The tasteful decor with Mexican folk art was amazing throughout the posada. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the exquisite food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Valladolid, a small city brimming with plazas, local charm, vibrant crafts boutiques, and diverse restaurants. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a good bathroom. The staff at Posada San Juan went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness, making us feel like cherished guests. They even provided umbrellas for our stay, which was a thoughtful touch. A special mention goes to Pupe, the friendly dog, who added extra joy to our stay with his playful presence. My husband and teen also enjoyed the mezcal tasting, which was a unique and delightful experience. Valladolid itself has become one of our most cherished memories. The city's rich history, colorful architecture, and vibrant culture provided the perfect backdrop for our stay. Wandering through its streets, discovering quaint shops and charming cafes, and soaking in the local ambiance were experiences we will treasure forever. Hotel Posada San Juan is more than just a place to stay; it is a gateway to experiencing the heart and soul of Valladolid. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for an extraordinary and unforgettable experience in this enchanting city.

the breakfast went well and the laundry service was exceptional and fast. The manager was extremely helpful throughout, incl the fact that he went out of his way to assist my wife with wheelchair assistance to visit ChichenItza, much out of his way to serve. He also oflfered local transportation, again out of his way. Also, the food at the restaurant was the best we had during our entire stay in the Yucatan. This was greatly appreciated.
Hotel expense was high for the area. Also, i would suggest grip handles for the shower for all people, incl handicapped.

The building is truly beautiful and charming, and the staff were amazing. Not sure it was family-owned, but it gave me that impression. Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable, and breakfast was generous. They had a large private parking, which was super handy as well.
It would have been nice to have proper loungers near the pool, rather than hard wood chairs, which were pretty uncomfortable to sit in.. but this is more a suggestion for improvement rather than anything else!

A lovely, unique and peaceful hotel run by fantastic, friendly, attentive, helpful and professional staff, who made us feel so very welcome. Lovely room with a fantastic bathroom, and excellent air-conditioning, which was needed in the Valladolid heat. The hotel itself is beautiful, with great decor (lots of Mexican folk art), nice patios where you can sit and chill, and beautiful pool areas. The breakfast is amazing; fresh fruit, coffee, juice, etc, as well as eggs cooked however you want them. The chef literally came up to our table to ask what we wanted. Incredibly tasty! We also liked the location - really close to the central square (10 min walk?), but far enough away for it to be quiet. Building 2 (stayed in a superior room there - well worth it!) is quieter than Building 1, as it sits back from the road. It's an ideal place to stay when exploring Valladolid, an incredibly lovely town - and doing day-trips to nearby archeological sites such as Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and Coba. We stayed 4 nights here, which was ideal for what we wanted to do, but could easily have stayed longer as we fell in love with Valladolid!
Leaving Valladolid!

The room was large and airy, I was in building 2. I was on my own and had 2 double beds in my room and a traditional Mayan hammock. The windows had wooden shutter on the inside, air conditioning and bottles of fresh drinking water. The large bathroom window was covered with mesh (no glass) so you felt you were showering outside. It was completely private. There was a beautiful swimming pool in the garden and breakfast was served on a covered terrace. Breakfast was lovely, there was a buffet on fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, juice. And you could order your eggs done in a variety of ways. We wished we had more time here. They organise tours for you they are well worth it. If you get a chance go on the tour to Ek Balam and then on to their private Cenote which you have all to yourself. It is magical. Santiago our driver was amazing and Mr Juan our guide was so knowledgable. We only had 3 night here and didn’t see everything you need at least 4 night here. Valladolid is a beautiful colonial town.

The team was amazing and made you feel right at home the moment you walked in. The itself is beautiful, just the right size and well located - within walking distance of all areas of interest in Valladolid but also a great starting point to visit the area. We had the privilege of going on a full day excursion to Ek Balam and the hotel’s private cenote with Santiago. Truly the highlight of our trip - Santiago was a great guide for us all day and the cenote itself is breathtaking. What they do there for conservation is amazing and totally worth the splurge. Three nights did not feel like enough and we were sad to go!
Wish they could accomodate early to-go breakfasts when leaving hotel before 7am for visits.

Loved this hotel! From when Gabriel collected us to bring us to Valladolid, ( & stopping at Cobá to give us a flavour of Mayan culture) it was all amazing. Everyone was so eager to help ( my husband became quite ill) and Rubin and Gabriel were so attentive. Breakfast was gorgeous but the setting of this little oasis is even better. As my husband wasn’t well I opted to eat dinner in hotel. this too was fantastic, as were the cocktails! Thanks so much to Gabriel - recommended an unbelievable guide in Rio Lagartos ( biologist) and a driver to take us there, both whom accommodated a change of day due to illness. Would def return, thank you.

Travelling as a family with 3 older teens. Staff were incredibly helpful - sent us to some less touristy cenotes. We had 2 cool and spacious rooms in building 2 and the verandah areas beside the pool were lovely and relaxing. Tucked away from the road so traffic noise was at a minimum. Breakfast included and was cooked to order as well as small continental breakfast available. Sighing walking distance of main square and a bit of a longer walk to Calzada de los Frailes.

Everything was amazing. From check in to check out. The hotel is immaculately clean and our room was spacious. The beds are very comfortable. We loved the interior design of the hotel, it's decorated with local artist's work. The whole crew was amazing, and we want to emphasize the warm welcome, great customer service, excellent communication, and help we received from Maria Jose. Ruben made us a delicious Moot's Paap cocktail! Thank you, Posada San Juan for making our stay wonderful and unforgetable!
Nothing.
