Beautiful, small hotel right by the calm beach. Very clean and well maintained. Fantastic pool and delicious food (amazing breakfasts with outstanding home-made jam). However, the best part is the staff. Extremely helpful and professional (but not intrusive nor pushy as oftenly on Zanzibar). Navena is super friendly and one of the best hotel managers I have ever met. Together with the team, she will make your stay very comfortable and relaxing. We highly recommend this place!

Please be mindful that apartments (not villas) have limited view at the sea.

Great service . Wonderful staff . Very helpful and kind managers. Family villa was comfortable ideal for family or two couples. The location is very quiet and beautiful. If not for the work, we will extend another week .

I stayed 7 nights we used the hotel restaurant every day . Breakfast was great, but after a few days, I needed something different than the usual menu .

the apartment was like in pictures, clean, spacious, nice view to the ocean ( just palm disturbed a little bit to much to the terrace)

Food - weak point of hotel ( we had poisoned with food - wife-2 times ( one of them shortly before way to airport, were sick for 12 hours( all way to airport and all flight) myself -2 times while staying- my advice avoid fresh fish and Benedict eggs, other food was good just sometimes to salty or oily, price of local wine overpriced 5 times)

Their villas are amazing. Great place to relax and enjoy your vacation away from touristic beaches and annoying sellers. The staff was very kind and always with a big smile.

Only negatives are the small food portions compared to ther price, the litthle bit expensive transfer rates and the not so good wifi connection.

We had a wonderful stay at Clove Island, thank you so much! Staff super friendly and helpful, perfect location for day trips, delicious food with many vegetarian options, nice and cosy pool area, rooms perfectly clean, comfortable, handy to be able to cook your own food (we stayed for one week and got some groceries). Loved that hotel is small and quiet, felt very relaxed, we were looking for a quiet place just to read and enjoy the sun. We walked to other hotels just to have a look and we kept saying Clove Island looks the best in the area :)

The only note, more for the Zanzibar in general, the beaches are very dirty, so sad to see such a beautiful place covered in trash and plastic. Each hotel cleans it's own little territory, i wish there was more effort put into keeping the beaches clean.

The hotel was clean, inviting and on an absolutely stunning location on the beach. The facilities were always immaculately kept and we felt able to truly relax while here. The staff really made our experience and all were friendly and willing to work hard to make our stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. Special shout out to David, Mary and Zoe in the bar and restaurant who were fantastic! We had some issues with the air conditioning unit in our room and the management were quick to give us a solution which meant we could continue to enjoy our stay. The food in the restaurant was very tasty, and we thought reasonably priced considering the slightly remote location of the hotel. Because of this we enjoyed eating in the hotel most of the time. The drinks fridge was well stocked however the drinks could sometimes have been a little colder. In terms of activities this hotel makes a great base from which to explore the island, and the hotel was able to book reliable and safe travel around the island. We went snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, BBQ on a sand bank. Overall we really loved the location, the hotel was very clean and the staff really made our stay! A beautiful holiday and we are already looking forward to returning to Zanzibar and this hotel!

We found the beds a little hard for our taste, we would have liked an option to have a mattress topper.

We liked the freshness of the daily breakfast, the over all menu options for the dinner and the excellent customer service. The room was lovely and clean. Bed was a little hard for me but that is just personal preference. In particular the managers we met were all fantastic, very friendly, polite, informative and welcoming.

For us as a family with a 6 year old there was limited things to do at the resort as it is very small and secluded and would perhaps suit a couple better than a family. Also the pool was very cold and not heated ( which seems to be the same all over Zanzibar) and so was not great for swimming ( unless your brave). The beach is not one of the best and the sea not great for swimming.

The establishment provides outstanding amenities; however, it does not include a fitness room. An additional location is situated further north; nonetheless, this specific branch exhibits several advantages, including a greater level of privacy. As a frequent international traveller and a Building Surveyor based in the United Kingdom, I assess the standard and quality of design of the complex with its services as exemplary, warranting a five-star rating. Great place. beautiful Villa. very confortable and clean. very calm area of Zanzibar. great view. The garden and the area around the pool is very well maintained. At low tide you can see the fisherman fishing and woman harvesting the sea weeds. it is a great place to rest by the ocean and the service is great. The breakfast and the juices are so good

There were no sun beds on the beach, so it is difficult to enjoy the beach Clove island is far from the village and from any shops. Taxi is needed all the time.

What was not to like? Excellent location; really quiet away from the hustle and bustle of touristic places. Nice beach, really big villa (we had the 4 person) with view directly on the pool and beach and ocean. Really clean, super friendly staff, good breakfast, good choice of food for diner. We had a really great time.

Normally when power goes down (which is happens every now and again) the generator takes over within a couple of minutes/seconds except for our last night; it gets pretty hot without airco. I assume it was a one time problem as all the other nights were perfect. Besides that the mattress are quit hard so if that is your thing this is definitely the place to be.
