This hotel is a blissful sanctuary of peace and beauty on the edge of VangViang..... at the moment, they have eight delightful Villas overlooking their own small rice fields and looking on to the sensational mountains. There are six other rooms in the central area. This is an exceptional hotel with wonderful staff and nothing to criticise at all. We lovedvit and had four very happy days in ViangTara.

My stay at Viengtara Vangvieng Resort was absolutely unforgettable. The resort is perfectly located—surrounded by breathtaking limestone mountains, lush rice fields, and the peaceful Nam Song River. It truly feels like a hidden paradise in Vang Vieng. The bungalows are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with a natural touch. I loved waking up to the serene view of the fields and hearing birds singing in the morning. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with both local and international options. One of my favorite parts of the stay was enjoying a coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains—pure magic! If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in nature with great hospitality and comfort, I highly recommend Viengtara Vangvieng Resort. I’ll definitely be back!

Warning!! Unless you choose the “villa”’or “bungalow” you are not in the room shown in the pictures but rather a room that is pretty dark and looks over the garden on one side and the car park and road on the other! The villas are very expensive but as it was our first place in Laos, we upgraded and they are absolutely beautiful and very very comfortable. We loved our stay here, but our kids were in the “superior double” and their room was very dark and dingy which was fine by them as we were out all day and they hung out in our balcony with the stupendous views over the paddy fields. The staff are so friendly, and the restaurant has the best views of any restaurant we saw in Vang Vieng. Shame the food isn’t very good as with the right chef, it would be full every lunch and dinner! Thank you for our stay, we loved it!

I recently stayed at the resort in one of their villas and was immediately taken aback by the breathtaking view from our balcony. Despite traveling during the burning season, we were lucky to have good visibility. The staff was outstanding, always helpful and attentive to our needs. Additionally, the laundry service was affordable, professional, and impressively fast. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-stocked with complimentary amenities, making our stay quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed the stunning green fields and unforgettable sunsets from our balcony, which were undoubtedly the best in Vang Vieng.

A few minor drawbacks did surface during our stay. The water in the room consistently remained lukewarm, and we encountered a large number of insects and frogs near our villa, which created noise at night. However, the complimentary anti-insect spray provided by the resort was effective in keeping insects at bay. The resort's location outside of Vang Vieng made it difficult to access, and a built-in pick-up service or more detailed instructions from the hotel would have been helpful upon arrival. Additionally, while we appreciated the breakfast service on our balcony, the food was somewhat lacking in variety.

One of the most beautiful views we ever had: green rice fields, mountains and hot air balloons overhead. Quiet at night yet close to the city center, shops and restaurants. Nice balcony with sitting bags. Good airco that makes little noise because compressor is on the rear side of building.

Shower was not very clean. Restaurant is expensive and not very busy. Breakfast looks nice but some items are not very good and were waisted on us. Breakfast included only one coffee, but we picked up another one at the restaurant at no charge. Would have preferred a buffet. A bit noisy in the early morning with engine sound, probably paramotors. Cabins are close together, so not too much privacy when sitting outside.

The location is stunning. We were in awe of the view at the front of our villa. It was so relaxing to sit out there and have a beer at sunset or breakfast in the morning. The room is tastefully appointed and the AC worked very well. The restaurant was cute too. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful.

The only comment we would make is similar to others, the bathroom is a little smelly and needs a bit of a refresh. But if we closed the door we didn’t notice it.

Very impressed. The room has privacy. The view is very beautiful. In the morning you can see the mountains and fog, including beautiful rice fields. In the evening you can see balloons in front of the room. I would like to commend the staff here. They have a service mind, are friendly, take good care of the guests, are polite, and provide great assistance. The breakfast is beautiful and delicious, served to the room. The atmosphere is good. If you want to relax and don't want to go anywhere, you can lie down and look at the view on the balcony in front of the room, which is very nice.

There are paramotors flying over the hotel since 6am. The noise is heard in the bedroom. Not suitable for guests who want to relax and don't want to wake up early.

The view from the rooms is second-to-none... can't honesty think when I've stayed somewhere with such spectacular scenery! Breakfasts were wonderful, the staff went above and beyond to help with anything we needed, and the rooms were excellent. Can't recommend it highly enough. Also had some blindingly good (and pretty spicy) chicken wings and duck larb as a late snack on arrival - can highly recommend! Exceptionally good value for money, and what a special setting.

Nothing related to the hotel! Only one word of warning - if arriving on foot, the little wooden bridge over the river isn't particularly fun at night with a heavy suitcase!

The VIEW! Wow! Amazing location. Could spend all day sitting taking in the view from sunrise to sunset. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was nice on the balcony. Beds super comfy!

The villas are in need of major refurbishing - they are falling apart. Seating area on balcony is not safe. For the amount changed per night money should be spent on up- keep. Bathrooms are beyond the point of cleaning too. Very grubby and smelly. We also had rats running in the roof which could be heard all night. A pool area would be an added bonus.

The reception staff were very nice and went the extra mile to forward on some personal items we accidentally left behind at checkout - very grateful for that act of kindness! They also arranged a local tour and gave us good advice. The view from the restaurant/bar is completely stunning. It is the pic you see in all the Laos guidebooks.

Some rooms back onto the road while the bungalows are out on the rice fields and are much nicer. Book the latter if there is availability. We were able to switch mid stay.
