The venue is located in a rural area, which is what we wanted. The surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful. I am a light sleeper, so really appreciated the fact that there was no noise at night. The room was a good size, and the bed and pillows comfy. The shower was excellent, and the room had tea and coffee making facilities. It also had a balcony overlooking a river, and a hammock ! The communal areas are large. The main area had a large tv, lots of seating, an open fire (during winter), great Wi-Fi and 4g reception. There is also a small swimming pool - well maintained, a free pool table, and hot and cold drinks available (including wine and beer) which you can purchase. The rooms also had air conditioning. The breakfasts were excellent. This is a family run place, and the family and staff were fabulous. They are very proud of their locality, and will provide you with any information that you need to make the most of your stay.

Public transport is not common in this area, which did not bother us as we had a rental car. I would suggest you will need a hire car to get around the area.

The hotel is in a great location, with a lovely walk from the doorstep to a beautiful bridge. The hotel room had a beautiful view of the mountains, and a nice balcony to enjoy it. The rooms were large and comfortable. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good! There is a pool area which we didn't use, but looked nice.

The wifi in the rooms wasn't useable, we had to go down to the reception area to use it properly. This was frustrating. Also, the toilet in our room hadn't been cleaned when we arrived.

Great position with views and peaceful . Lovely breakfast with freshly cooked egg and bacon as well as a great choice of other items. Good sized room with balcony and hammock. Well equipped plus a honesty bar area in the lounge.

Bathroom drains smelt a bit. Limited plugs for charging devices and none by the bed. No milk with the drink facility in room

This was my favorite place we stayed during our time in Portugal! It’s a beautiful, clean, and comfortable property with wonderful views, an outstanding breakfast, and super friendly staff. I would not hesitate to stay here again - I absolutely loved it.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Beautiful en quiet environment. Good location to discover the Geres national park. Our room was quickly made available even though we arrived before check in time. The hotel offers great facilities with a pool and self-service bar with good prices.

Availability of restaurants is sparse, so make a reservation beforehand if possible. Furthermore it's located in or near the park so expect the occasional encounter with bugs in the room :)

Hotel Rural Misarela was one of our trip's highlights. It is a renovated, small, cosy hotel, located at the edge of the park. The rooms are lovely and have a porch with a hammock overlooking the view. There is a large, comfortable living room, shared by the guests, with sofas, a coffee machine, pool room, many books and board games. There are also bicycles the guests can use. The breakfast was excellent and very generous. But most of all, the staff! Bernardo who owns the place with his father was super helpful, gave us great tips for hiking trails. His father was extremely nice and gave us recommendations for near by restaurants. Another very nice and helpful young woman (unfortunately I don't know her name) was very helpful, pleseant and patient with all our questions. Highly recommended!

everything was excellent. The only thing I can think of is that the hotel is located a bit far from the park's center, but for us, this was not a problem.

The hotel was better than we expected. Lovely location with amazing views. Our dogs were welcomed and allowed everywhere. The breakfast was a good buffet selection. Would definitely recommend for a rural retreat and would return again.

A wonderful family run hotel in a gorgeous area. The father and son owners were very helpful, and we loved their recommendations for a hike (the Pont Misarela) and dinner (Hostel do Geres). They stoked a fire in the communal area in the evening, and it was a very comfortable place to have a drink and relax. We would love to return!

The curtains in our bathroom didn't open properly, but it really wasn't a problem!
