I would definitely give them a 10 for trying. The efforts are quite obvious. They are indeed super catering and friendly. I also enjoy the location, just outside Galle Fort with access to many real local people markets. I love the little balcony for a beer. They were so kind to let me borrow a bike for an easy ride around.

The room is very basic. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and stuff. I am lucky as a middle-aged bald guy who needs not much. There is no blanket but just a sheet. Lucky I prefer fans to air conditioner. This is not what I didn't like really but rather what I wish them to already know before a guest comes in to tell them.

Everything was perfect and staff could not do enough for us - we felt like family we were so looked after. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and changed each of the three days we had and was delicious and plentiful served with real coffee which was appreciated. Pool was great after a day out exploring with nice fluffy towels available. Owner provided us with exactly what we felt like - some dhal and rice - which wasn’t even on the menu. Also arranged for our laundry to be processed promptly. We were sent on our journey with some lentil vade because we had commented how much we had enjoyed them at breakfast. Rooms were spacious and aircon worked well. Shower pressure fantastic. Loved it and wished we could have stayed longer - was exceptional!

Leaving

Good location, spacious rooms, good basic breakfast. Short walk to the Fort and town/shops. Quiet location. Staff friendly and helpful. A good option to explore Galle and close beaches. Manager Iflal was able to assist with some issues and arrange transport.

The first night we stayed in the top floor room. It was spacious and had decks. It also has a lot of glass walls. It was too hot and very light at night for us. After talking with Iflal we were moved to another room which was perfect for our needs, on the back of the property, darker, cooler and with an amazing bathroom.

Hotel situated in a green and nice area in Galle, pretty close to the fort. Deluxe room is big and comfortable and breakfast (included) was rich and tasty. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and it is good quality/price. Iflal, hotel manager, was very kind and helpful. He gave us good tip about restaurants, spa, and visit to the fort. He reserved for us the bus to the airport and came with us to make sure we had the seats he booked for us!

The hotel was located very well. In a quiet location and about 7 minutes walk from Galle Fort. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The room was very spacious and at the same time comfortable. The balcony was simply huge, with sun loungers and palm trees. Everything was very clean, of high quality, good pressure of hot water. Very friendly, helpful staff. When we left for another place, the hotel manager had arranged for us a car at a good price. I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay close to the Galle historical center, but in a quiet place! I think if you take the Orchard room on the 3-d floor, you will be impressed as much as we were.

I cannot commend this hotel enough!! Communication before hand, location, staff on arrival, facilities were all first class. The staff were exceptional. The manager, in particular, was superb, with advice and guidance. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. Within 15 minutes walk to Galle Fort and only 200 metres from a really good restaurant. They really looked after us and we’re very flexible around our own particular arrangements.

Nothing

Villa Upper Dickson was the perfect place to stay in Galle. It was outside the fort, so away from the tourist traps and closer to the local town. I regularly walked to and from the hotel alone and in the dark and felt completely safe. The room was comfortable and huge with excellent Aircon. The staff were accommodating and went above and beyond to help me.

The bathroom wasn't very clean but as soon as I alerted the staff, they rectified the problem.

The location was great. Walking distance to the fruit market and shops and a short walk to Galle Forte. It was very quiet and the room was very spacious with a good size bathroom and decent shower. The breakfast was delicious. You could have a continental breakfast or a Sri Lankan one. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had an early check in which was good and greeted with a fresh coconut water drink and a lovely cold towel to cool us down. Manager and owner did everything they could to make us feel welcome and were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the pool was fantastic. Photos on booking.com were as it was, very good! I would definitely come back to this hotel.

A good size room close to the main street. Good hot showers.

The first room I was given the TV and WiFi were broken. The room adjoined the dining room which meant a loud conversation was clearly heard in my room. Thankfully, they agreed to change rooms. No satellite TV only local channels and the breakfast was meagre for the money. I thought the accommodation was expensive for both accommodation and breakfast. I had hoped by spending more, I would get something superior.
