The staff were amazing, they were always around and made sure the stay was smooth. The breakfast was great and time to have breakfast was flexible. The main area of the hotel where you have breakfast is really nice with Old architecture, high ceilings and an indoor garden with natural light. The stay was great value for the upmarket area inside Galle Fort.

When I booked this hotel, I was expecting to have a nice view from my room or from a common area however I think only one or two rooms have a view of the Fort and the sea.

This is a well located property inside the Galle Fort walls. You can access the whole area by walking. The room was a good size, the bathroom was modern. The air conditioning worked well. There were no toiletries or hand towel and when I asked none were available. I got an extra towel instead. The shower was good. Beds were comfortable and pillows were good. The breakfast was excellent, fruit platter, eggs and sausages and plenty of hot toast. The staff were helpful and attentive. We would stay at this property again

The location of sunset Galle fort is great and the staff is very courteous and prompt. Mahender took extra care for our needs specifically as we were travelling with a toddler and she loved the place and the cats which come and go.

There are only 2 sea view rooms and perhaps the room on the first floor is the best room of the property. So I think there should have been differential pricing for sea view rooms on the ground floor and first floor as the ground floor room is a bit smaller. Other rooms are spacious good and comfortable but there is lack of ventilation.

The location was perfect! We needed a hotel for the day to shower, change, and leave our luggage somewhere safe and central as we toured the historic area of Galle Fort. We were flying out at midnight and this was the perfect hotel for our stay as it was close to a roundabout where Uber's could easily pick you up.

There was dripping coming from the ceiling air conditioning above our sink, which I am sure is easily fixed.

The staff was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is located in a prime spot—just a short walk from the Galle Clock Tower, popular restaurants, museums, the lighthouse, and even bathing spots. Galle Fort is a stunning location in Sri Lanka, and staying here gave us easy access to everything it has to offer. Breakfast was a simple yet satisfying English breakfast, served with a fresh fruit platter and coffee. And all of this came at a very reasonable rate. Location is fantastic. Away from the hustle of the busy areas of the Fort but within easy walking distance of them, the ramparts and Galle town. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms clean. Lovely ambience and a reasonable fish restaurant right opposite. The staff are exceptional in their attention and very friendly and helpful in all ways, doing what they can to make the visit comfortable. When I asked for a special Sri-Lankan breakfast, a delicious home made meal arrived both mornings. Definitely a place I would return to. Many thanks to Sanji and his wonderful companion for taking so much care of us.

We felt very lucky to discover Sunset Galle Fort and to be able to book a sea view room. This was the ideal location for us as we were attending both the Galle Literary Festival and the cricket. It also very close to the ramparts for walks. Mr Mahindi and staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, great value and kept me going all day! There was always someone there to welcome us home.

Anywhere in the fort is a good location, so this hotel fit the bill. The room was reasonable. Very comfy mattresses. The shower was good, although the rain head was too low for me. You can use the other head if you're fussed. AC was good and not loud. Breakfast was great. Probably the biggest fruit plate I've had in Sri Lanka. The place was quiet out of season, but I could see how it might get echoey with more people.

One of the lights was flickering badly. I was told to use the working light. One of the power points didn't work. There was a second one, so no drama.

breakfast was fairly basic but perfectly acceptable. the staff although lovely couldnt retain information, we were asked tea or coffee 3 times before we got the coffee :)))) the room was a little small but comfortable, the plug socket was hard to reach and there was only one in the room. also only one person could take payment and we tried to pay 4 times as we were checking out early we wanted to pay before

The host took very good care of us and fulfilled our wishes. He even insisted in getting up at 4 am in order to offer us breakfast on our final day, that was really nice gesture! Earlier check-in was possible as we arrived early in the morning.

There was no window to outside in the room and the air got a bit sticky.
