Great place to stay: the team is very welcoming and so helpful, the hotel is positioning perfectly (everything in Front Galle is at walking distance), the design and decoration are very nice and cosy in harmony with nature. And, clearly breakfast is a must! We warmly recommend Parawa House.

There was an old single masters put along the wall on the diary floor, next to our room and a cosy place to chat, enjoy this beautiful inner garden or read peacefully like at home with birds’ songs. We did not really understand why and definitively no marching with the furniture and interior design of the rest of the hotel.

Very old beautiful villa, perfectly located on quite street. Comfortable bed, everything made in one style and beautiful old design with small nice decorations. My eyes were happy :) Nice to sit outside on bench/couch to watch/listen monkeys and birds. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quite location but you are in the middle of city.

mold on the walls and ceiling-it was very sad to see it, specially in such beautiful house. And it creates very bad smell and doesn’t matter they I opened doors and windows each time after shower -all days I had that annoying awful smell

Parawa house is located in a close proximity to all major streets in the fort zone. The house was renevated and offers a comfortable staying. The personnel was the best, all work very well. The breakfast was more of Sri Lankan offers with hoppers, eggs, fruits and fuit juice. Our room was on the first level, not so spacious but the bed was big, king size.

I think as many mentioned there is a smell of humidity in the room. Since I have asthma, they made sure that the room gets enough air but with this much rain and humiditiy, and location inside the fort walls it might be a little tricky to fix it.

It felt like home. It was comfortable and everything was a 5 min walk away. The manager and staff took wonderful care of me and the breakfast in the morning was always yummy. They clean the room daily and are happy to help you out with recommendations or requests. As a solo girl traveller, I felt safe in this hotel. It has been newly renovated, so everything feels fresh but still with old world charm. At times, the wifi wasn’t great since I was taking work calls but they did everything they could to help out with this (brought the internet modem closer to my room).

A stunning old property stuffed full of antique furniture but with a modern twist. Beds were super comfy, wifi was great and the aircon was a blessing as it was so, so hot outside. We had the whole upper floor to ourselves and breakfast was served on the lovely seating area outside our rooms. Comms were great with the owner and they were very accommodating, allowing us to shower and change before leaving for the airport. The location in the fort was fantastic too, in a quiet lane just off Pedlar street surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Really couldn’t fault this lovely boutique hotel and it was also incredibly good value for money. Don’t hesitate - book it!

Minor issue was that there were no plug sockets where the kettle was located so we had to plug it in at a bedside table. That’s it!

We loved the location, which is close to Pedlar street in Galle Fort, the breakfasts were delightful, the room was perfect for our family of four and the staff was spectacular. So helpful in every way. They truly sought to be great hosts and make sure we had a great time. They helped us arrange for trips to Unawatuna Beach and arranged for our transfer back to Colombo. They even let us keep our bags at the location after check out and then provided us with a room next door with access to a wash room to freshen up while we waited for our car to the airport. We will definitely come again and can’t recommend them highly enough.

The hotel locates within the major tourist area, the Fort. It's close to all nice restaurants, currency exchanges, shops. They provide mixed breakfast of local pankacks with delicious sauces, fruits, coffee/tea, freshly made juice. They are willing to listen to the customers' needs. Like we told them we like papaya, so we got papaya at breakfast! It's quite secure living in this sweet place although it's centrally located, because they lock the front door at 9pm everynight. No worries, they provide door key to check-in customers. It's a quiet hotel too as it's in a small alley one car can just pass through. Highly recommend living in the Fort when visiting Galle. We were kind of regret booking the first night outside the Fort although it's only some hundreds meters to the Fort.

We saw many ants inside the bathroom. We understand that because it's at tropical area and it's on the ground floor, but it's still rare to see them in a hotel.

Looks exactly like the photos! Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast - delicious, especially the pancakes and fruit juice - served at a large volume to last a while, which is perfect if you plan on sightseeing for the rest of the day. Aesthetic interior designing, furniture and colour scheme. Friendly and professional staff, always attentive and welcoming. Room is spacious, with plenty of rack and wardrobe space. Large and comfortable four-poster beds. Walking distance to all locations within the Galle Fort, and a 25 minute walk to the train and bus station.

The Wi-Fi was slow at times.

We are so pleased that we booked this hotel. We had a really lovely room, with a balcony overlooking the street. The hotel has been tastefully renovated, and we appreciated being in one of Galle’s colonial houses. The location was perfect - in the middle of all the action, yet tucked away from the noise. We were well looked after by Fayas, who was very keen to make sure that we were comfortable and that we had what we needed. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

We loved our stay as a family of 4 in the loft style family room. The breakfast was wonderful and the female manager provided great service. The beds were comfy and blankets were provided to offset the necessary air con. The location is perfect and quiet at night.

Note that there is no fridge in the room. That meant that we weren’t able to have cold water which would have been perfect given how hot and humid it was. Not a big deal overall.
