Charming and home-like. Parawa House, though modernised, is filled with character including many of the original features of the ancient house. The staff were not only delightful but very helpful. They created a relaxed environment which enhanced our holiday. The small number of guests staying at Parawa created a unique ability to feel at home which meant every morning we could linger over a long breakfast (with unlimited coffee), return from morning activity for a quiet siesta for some while others enjoyed time on the private second floor terrace. Some nights we had private pre-dinner drinks on our terrace before going out for dinner (to one of dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance). One night we even had a meal from Lucky Fort Restaurant across the street brought to us and served as it would be were we in the actual restaurant. Next morning Parawa staff washed and returned the dishes to the restaurant. It was these extra touches that enhanced our 6 night stay. We did some amazing bespoke day trips organised by Samitha and guided by Hiran. These were curated specifically to meet our needs and therefore perfect. At one stage half way through a tour we decided we wanted to change plans. 'No problem at all' was the response of Hiran our excellent guide, he was only there to please us he said. Of particular attention to detail and first class ability to interpret guest needs was Fayas. Although at times we pummelled him with questions, requested him to cut our exotic fruit, and asked other zany miscellany of him, he always smiled and charmingly obliged. I would recommend Parawa House for people who want a lovely relaxed stay in a relatively private place.

Unfortunately construction work was rather noisy at times.

Great place to stay: the team is very welcoming and so helpful, the hotel is positioning perfectly (everything in Front Galle is at walking distance), the design and decoration are very nice and cosy in harmony with nature. And, clearly breakfast is a must! We warmly recommend Parawa House.

There was an old single masters put along the wall on the diary floor, next to our room and a cosy place to chat, enjoy this beautiful inner garden or read peacefully like at home with birds’ songs. We did not really understand why and definitively no marching with the furniture and interior design of the rest of the hotel.

Very old beautiful villa, perfectly located on quite street. Comfortable bed, everything made in one style and beautiful old design with small nice decorations. My eyes were happy :) Nice to sit outside on bench/couch to watch/listen monkeys and birds. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quite location but you are in the middle of city.

mold on the walls and ceiling-it was very sad to see it, specially in such beautiful house. And it creates very bad smell and doesn’t matter they I opened doors and windows each time after shower -all days I had that annoying awful smell

Parawa house was a beautiful place to stay in Galle. The hospitality was great, breakfast was fresh and delicious. The room was spacious and clean, there was also a fan and an A/C for extra comfort. We got upgraded which was lovely surprise. We loved our stay at Parawa house.

We did request an early check in that was approved however we did have to wait 2 hours for our rooms so after a long flight we were quite uncomfortable in our travel clothes while exploring the city. The bathrooms could use a look over in terms of final touches such as paint splatter and a bit of mold however nothing that couldn’t be fixed easily.

Parawa house is located in a close proximity to all major streets in the fort zone. The house was renevated and offers a comfortable staying. The personnel was the best, all work very well. The breakfast was more of Sri Lankan offers with hoppers, eggs, fruits and fuit juice. Our room was on the first level, not so spacious but the bed was big, king size.

I think as many mentioned there is a smell of humidity in the room. Since I have asthma, they made sure that the room gets enough air but with this much rain and humiditiy, and location inside the fort walls it might be a little tricky to fix it.

It is in an excellent location in Galle Fort. It’s on a side street (feels like a narrow lane, in reality, but that’s urban history for you!) but close to Pedlar St which has good restaurants and some gelaterias. There’s a very good curry restaurant across the lane. The fort area is quickly walkable and lots of options for eating, drinking, and exploring in general. The room was very nicely made up and the breakfasts were excellent.

Nothing to say - all I needed was a comfortable room and a decent breakfast and attentive staff and all that is present here.

Wonderful colonial house, well decorated and in a perfect location. Just off of the main road in a quiet yet central area. As it was my bday, they’ve upgraded our room for free, which I’ve really appreciated. Breakfast is fresh made and different every morning and the quality is excellent. There’s also water tank as refill for free. Rooms are spacious and facing the inner courtyard. Staff is welcoming and so kind. Absolutely one of the best place in the beautiful Galle!

In our room there was quite limited space for our belongings but that’s just a minor consideration.

It felt like home. It was comfortable and everything was a 5 min walk away. The manager and staff took wonderful care of me and the breakfast in the morning was always yummy. They clean the room daily and are happy to help you out with recommendations or requests. As a solo girl traveller, I felt safe in this hotel. It has been newly renovated, so everything feels fresh but still with old world charm. At times, the wifi wasn’t great since I was taking work calls but they did everything they could to help out with this (brought the internet modem closer to my room).

A stunning old property stuffed full of antique furniture but with a modern twist. Beds were super comfy, wifi was great and the aircon was a blessing as it was so, so hot outside. We had the whole upper floor to ourselves and breakfast was served on the lovely seating area outside our rooms. Comms were great with the owner and they were very accommodating, allowing us to shower and change before leaving for the airport. The location in the fort was fantastic too, in a quiet lane just off Pedlar street surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Really couldn’t fault this lovely boutique hotel and it was also incredibly good value for money. Don’t hesitate - book it!

Minor issue was that there were no plug sockets where the kettle was located so we had to plug it in at a bedside table. That’s it!

We loved the location, which is close to Pedlar street in Galle Fort, the breakfasts were delightful, the room was perfect for our family of four and the staff was spectacular. So helpful in every way. They truly sought to be great hosts and make sure we had a great time. They helped us arrange for trips to Unawatuna Beach and arranged for our transfer back to Colombo. They even let us keep our bags at the location after check out and then provided us with a room next door with access to a wash room to freshen up while we waited for our car to the airport. We will definitely come again and can’t recommend them highly enough.
