When we booked to come here. We got such a nice surprise. We did not know we would actually be staying in a 17th century Fort. We originally booked 3 nights but ended up staying here for the rest of our holiday for 3 weeks. All of the staff here are so nice and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The lady is very nice always asking if there is anything she can help with. The boys that cook the nice breakfast and do the cleaning are also very good. There is a train and bus station about 10vto 15 minutes walk from the fort so it is very easy to get about. We traveled to a few places but always chose to stay back in the Fort at Khalid guest house. I can definitely recommend Khalid guest house and Thank you to all of the staff for a lovely and enjoyable stay. ❤. Xx

A beautiful room located right in the heart of the fort with views of the sea - the owner and manger were amazingly helpful and kind, the breakfast outstanding, and the best shower ever, definitely would book again! It was lovely wandering around the fort in the evening and early morning- such a great location and any assistance required was met with a smile

Really comfortable bed, helpful staff, especially Fayas ,they could not do enough for you. Breakfast superb, with very charming young woman explaining what all sri lankan food was and the correct way to enjoy hoppas etc. Really lovely central location, sea view from balcony. Would recommend

Everything. From the freshly prepared, authentic breakfast, to the attention to detail and customer focus of the entire staff. They truly left no stone unturned in ensuring our excellent stay. Although the original house was facing problems, the replacement was arguably even better and no stone was left unturned in ensuring our satisfaction.

The room is superb! Spacious, well-designed, and with a beautiful bathroom. It’s right in the fort, but very quiet, one of the only two guest rooms in a beautiful, antique house. Khalid and the staff were very nice and responsive. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Staff were lovely, location in the fort was perfect, could see the sunset from balcony. Breakfast which was just down the lane was delicious.

There’s a little maintenance required, like balcony rail, but didn’t detract from our stay.

Khalids is a delight. Beautiful rooms in the Pedlar Street location. Perfect breakfasts. Delightful people. Much nicer than a boutique hotel!

Breakfast was an experience. Fresh fruit eggs pancakes toast coffee/ tea and more if needed it. The fort's seaward walls were a few paces away as were bars restaurants
