Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Good reception as well. They also have an elevator, but sometimes it does not work. Fortunately they fix it the same day. The room I had was spacious, it had a wardrobe which you can lock with a key, a nice desk and also a very handy table next to the desk where you can easily put your suitcase on (or in as well). Is has airco and a ceiling fan. Bed was good too. Bathroom spacious as well with a large mirror. Hot works, but takes about one minute to heat up. Toilet could have been cleaned better, but it was good enough. It flushes well and they also provide enough toilet paper. Furniture is a bit outdated though, but the basis is good. Breakfast was good, I really enjoyed the Poha but they also serve enough european/western options such as eggs, pancakes, toast etc. dinner was also decent. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and it was perfect to relax and recover from a long trip. For European standards this would easily pass as a 3 star hotel :)

The location is not ideal, but they can't really help that... i would recommend a riksha/three-wheeler to take you around and show you all the temples. But don't expect to find a good and easy accessible grocery store nearby. (At least I did not see it)

Overall this was a lovely place to stay. Obviously their mission as a training restaurant is a big drawing point. The staff is very nice and they certainly try their best. Some are very beginner and some don’t speak much English, so patience is important. But they really do care about you as a guest and make you feel welcomed. And they go out of their way to help with things like ordering cabs, finding places for you to see, and bringing things up to your room. The rooms are also quite nice. Everything worked as it was supposed to, including the air con. Linens and towels were in pretty good shape. And the location was great. Close to all the temples and monasteries, but far enough away so that there is less noise and fewer hawker/beggars lurking nearby.

The food here isn’t that good and it’s a little bit pricey. Everything tasted a bit bland, not exactly bad, but certainly not what I’d expect for that price. The staff doesn’t offer to refill your water with a meal unless you ask. In a hot country at a hotel of this price, that really should be expected. The bathrooms needed a bit of work. There were some weird stains on the wall and the shower would get way too hot to use after a few minutes. It just had a very outdated feel to it.

- Good, peaceful location - The food was good - breakfast and dinner - Service at restaurant was fast and good - The reception was helpful and arranged an rickshaw to help us with the trip to the temple - Nayan at the Reservations was very helpful in explaining about facilities to explore Gaya. He also helped arrange a good cab for a trip to Nalanda and also to drop us at Patna International airport. - Enthusiastic young staff. They are training local youngsters for employment in hospitality which is very encouraging to see.

One member of our team had a fall and needed ice/medical treatment. There was no medical help at hand. There was no ice available too, we pushed for it and finally got some at night. The towels were torn and filthy and worn out - even when asked for a change, they got torn and stained ones again The bathroom drains were clogged when we checked in and had to get it cleaned by request More tea bags could have been provided. They just had 2.

The Bodhgaya Hotel School is an excellent place to stay in Bodhgaya for visiting the Bodhi Tree where Buddha has attained Enlightenment more than 2500 years ago, the Maha Bodhi temple which marks the spot and the other Buddhist temples from various countries, located in the area. The hotel itself is just behind the giant (80-feet high) Buddha Statue, which is a popular attraction. The room was nice and clean, the food at the hotel's restaurant has been excellent and the staff is really nice. Most are students, and they pay a lot of attention to their guests' satisfaction. The manager from the reception desk has also been super helpful providing excellent advice regarding the places I wanted to see, and getting me rickshas and a taxi with well-manered drivers and very good prices. I highly recommend this hotel. If I return to this area I will definitely stay there again.

The Bodhgaya Hotel School was outstanding - the people were the most helpful, so kind, always available and supportive with every inquiry and request. The rooms and location were exceptional, and a wonderful variety of food in a lovely restaurant on site. So happy! My 3rd stay in Bodhgaya, and I will always now return to BHS - absolute kindness & quality. I already miss the site of the 80 foot Buddha facing the sunrise each morning.

Nothing truly could have been better, except of course to stay longer.

Smart modern room. On Giant Buddha Road, so central for all temple visits. Excellent food: best dal soup I've ever tasted and aloo paratha was also excellent.

The room could have done with a fridge - if only for the water. I was aware that it was a school, but I don't think the (very) young man with limited English should have been left unsupervised at the front desk (on the day of my check-out). In terms of arranging the cab to the airport, it was unnecessarily stressful - for both of us.

A modern, clean, and comfortable hotel with pleasant rooms, excellent breakfast, and hot water showers that would put any 5 star hotel to shame! The staff, some of them trainees, were efficient and friendly. A change of rooms due to some technical issues was no problem, and the midday check out was most welcome. A good choice, away from the surging crowds, and near the Great Buddha statue.

Nothing. It's a bit of a, walk to Mahabodhi Temple, but that means you can take in others such as the Japanese and Bhutanese. Enjoy the village.

The hotel is run as part of an social programme training youth in hotel management. The hotel staff go out of their way to ensure you are well taken care of. The location is a short autorickshaw ride from town, and so it is away from the main hustle and bustle. Just 15 mins walk from Root Institute. I felt at home and very comfortable at Bodhgaya Hotel School and would return if I return to Bodhgaya.

This hotel radiated from the kindness and good will of the staff. They were all extremely attentive, kind and professional. I became slightly ill while I was there and they took exceptional care of me. My mother couldn’t have taken better care of me. It was extremely reassuring. They kept the rooms very clean and everything was well cared for.

There was little they could do about the building that was going on in the area. It’s all over Bodhgaya so there is a lot of cement dust in the air. The students might want to look a little more closely at breakfast foods for westerners. Everything they cooked was good, but maybe more toast, egg, and cereal choices would be good.

The whole team are amazingly friendly, responsive and super helpful, especially thank manger Aditya for all kinds of help to make my stay easy & comfortable. The room is clean, spacious, comfortable & with all essentials, bathroom is also clean with powerful hot shower, very resourceful after a dusty day. The food is tremendous yummy, well-prepared and satisfying, and dining area is just relaxing & lovely. All in all, a jewel and a home @ Bodhgaya, thank you all 🙏

Neighborhood was playing music very loud from evening till next morning, for 2 or 3 nights🤣 because of wedding. guess it’s part of India, no one to be blamed. Fighting with mosquitoes team, luckily next day Aditya gave me the repellent.
