Well … location you either love it or hate it , there is a price to pay for views!!! Nothing around and to get there you SHOULD TAKE taxi recommended as it will be a challenge to find or get there. I wouldn’t use Tuktuk personally , it’s off-road bumpy and dusty long way .. hotel is beautiful if you want to have eco friendly Nubian living Food was great , a bit too oily for me but very tasty. We were in hot time so it was very hot ! Room takes time to cool but comfy to sleep. Pool helps to cool , also a steep walk down the dune to the beach !! We didn’t bother about WiFi as we know in Egypt is a problem , had our own phones with data

Pool needed a little cleaning .. bathroom showers need some fixing and perhaps deeper cleaning , it’s clean but looks scruffy with some left overs from building times perhaps. Small bottle of water over a dollar is a bit too much . Being an eco kind of resort should get great filters that customer could have an option not to use plastic ..

Everything! This place is amazingly beautiful.

Getting there is quite the drive. Better signage with arrows for directions along the way would be an improvement. Communication is a little slow when asking questions.

This is a special place. It is well designed to make the most of its incredible location at the top of sand dunes overlooking Aswan and the Nile. The buildings are lovely, bright, and colourful inside and out. My room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed for a three night stay. The bed was very comfy, and it had the best pillows. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. Nirvana, Hussein and Sara all helped to make my stay a memorable one. The food here was the best I had on my travels through Egypt.

The resort is located a bit far but easily reached by a free tuk tuk provided by the resort. Having said that it’s location has the most breathtaking views. The resort is very well maintained, beautifully built and complimented by it’s decor and vibrant colours. Breakfast and dinner was of good quality and we truly loved having dinner overlooking an incredible view. The pool is a plus to the resort and we happen to use it alot.Last but not least the staff are super friendly and helpful. Thank you Abdull Sad,Tarak and all the rest whom we happen to meet while on our stay . Hoping to see you again someday.

I recommend having some snacks one can buy while relaxing by the pool. Other then that there is nothing negative to say about Kato Dool

This hotel is now one of our favourites. It was such a unique place to stay. If you are hesitating, don't! It was a great choice. The decor, in traditional Nubian style, is colourful and amazing in every last detail. The location allows for an outstanding view over the Nile river - we couldn't stop looking at it and we stayed in the infinity pool for a long time just watching the boats. The pool is refreshing after a hot day. There are also comfortable lounge chairs around the pool area that also have a view (as well as from your balcony). The drive to the hotel is up a long bumpy road by car or tuk tuk and you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but this allows for a very quiet stay and the beautiful view! We were worried about not being in Aswan but, in our opinion, this was better. The shower pressure was great and the air conditioning works very well. The bed is very comfortable with great pillows and linens. The staff is kind and they arranged all our excursions and drivers and that all worked very well - on time and organized and we thought it was reasonably priced. It is perhaps best and easiest to organize airport pick up and excursions with them as the hotel is quite isolated. We ate dinner at the restaurant every night and the food was the best we had in Egypt - the Nubian tagine was great. There is a large variety of food to choose from. The breakfast was eggs done any way you would like, baloney and cheese slices and yogurt and pita. It is served fresh (not a buffet) which we liked, just leave a bit of time for it to be served. There was plenty of food to fuel up for the day. We watched the locals and tourists swimming in the Nile for a long time and wanted to try it and the staff showed us a staircase down the hill behind the hotel for us to walk down. It looks steep and long, but is reasonably easy - ask the to show you - it was so fun!

There is no wifi in the rooms but the wifi in the restaurant and pool area worked well. Everything else was fantastic.

We had an amazing stay in this unique hotel. It was a last minute booking and it was the highlight of our stay in Aswan. The staff were friendly.

This hotel is truly exceptional. While the location is slightly outside the main area, the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk service that conveniently takes guests to the Nubian village, which makes getting around easy and enjoyable. What truly sets this place apart is the breathtaking view over Aswan — it's absolutely worth it. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and offer incredible panoramic views that make your stay unforgettable. I highly recommend staying at this hotel for anyone visiting Aswan. It’s a peaceful retreat with excellent service and scenery that’s hard to beat.

What a remarkable location, perched high up on the banks of The Nile, overlooking Aswan in the distance on the other bank! Blissfully quiet. The buildings themselves are quite remarkable, in absolutely fascinating Nubian style. The staff are delightful and the food varied and delicious. The complex is located at the very end of the road so there is no passing traffic. There is easy access across the Nile from below the hotel. The gorge at this point is very steep but transport is provided to the ferry point by the hotel.

The approach on the road through the Nubian Village is lengthy.

Kato Dool is like a remote desert outpost. That is the sort of thing that I really enjoy, so I loved it. We went into Aswan town and to be honest, it's pretty rubbish. So I would recommend being here and visiting the sights, to them come back to this remote hideaway. The food is good and we stayed healthy for the 4 nights we were there. Seeing the sunrise over the Nile and going for wanderings in the desert were special and memorable!

It's Africa. Not everything is perfect. But roll with it and it's all good!

I truly enjoyed my stay at Kato Dool. The architecture and colors of the property create a magical atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The place was very comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, offering many interesting activities to enjoy during the stay. The staff was exceptionally kind, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely caring, which made the experience even more special. Another highlight is that they organize trips to Abu Simbel Temple at a very good price, which I highly recommend. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay and suggest everyone visiting Aswan to try Kato Dool Wellness Resort.
