For a budget hotel, the room exceeded my expectations. It was clean, and the room was dark at night. The bed was comfortable. The shower offered pressured, hot water. I felt safe in the area. The hotel is run by a family on-site who were very helpful.

I chose to overlook that the interior could use updating because I chose to book a budget hotel. The shower curtain would not remain closed because of the angle in which it was installed, and a couple of zip ties handled that problem during the stay so the floor would not be soaked.

I needed a cheap room and that's what I received. I was concerned with location and safety but I was not familiar with Lawrence so I don't know where the safe/bad parts of town are. But the staff were good, genuine people. They deserve success

It's an older motel and it shows. I didn't ask for the breakfast times so it could be that I missed it, but I didn't see anything that indicated a hot breakfast. But still, something is better than nothing.

Whenever you stay at these smaller local type places you don't expect much, but the Virginia Inn was a very pleasant surprise. If I need to ever stay in Lawrence again, I will definitely go here. It's a basic room, but was clean and had good decor. The staff was very friendly and talkative. I was there for a concert so I didn't use the room much other than to sleep. It was close to the venue and convenient. Good experience.

This budget motel is well kept up with a unique decor and thoughtful renovations. We enjoyed the tile floors and quality furniture. Everything worked. The room was quiet, bug-free, and odor-free. The same smiling person was on duty in the evening and again in the morning. Morning coffee is in the lobby, but the room had a fridge, microwave, hairdryer and tub-shower combination. The room was set back from the highway, so it was relatively quiet. We asked for a ground floor room with parking in front, and we were offered a choice of light or darker decor. Across the busy street is a large Dillon’s grocery, and both fast food and sit-down restaurants are nearby.

The continental breakfast in the lobby was just grab-and-go pandemic-style with prepackaged granola bars and bottled juice or water.

The bed was extremely comfortable and staff was very nice. The area felt safe and I appreciated the security cameras and well lit parking lot. Breakfast options were limited and could’ve been a little better. Some options to heat up in a toaster oven would be nice.

Room could use a little TLC as far as repairs and updates but it the bed was comfortable and I felt safe.

Room is comfortable, location is convenient for our needs, and the price is great.

Housekeeping services were average. The bed was only made once out of 6 days (but that's something I can do.) Towels were not replaced based on what we had used, so a couple of days we were short.

The room was large and clean. There were plenty of towels and pillows. The bed was comfortable and the room smelled fresh. The hosts were extremely pleasant and accommodating. We got in after midnight and she was wide awake and super friendly. It was an exceptional stay and the price was perfect.

First, the owner was SO friendly. One of the friendliest hotel owners that I have talked to along our journey. That right there was worth staying. Then.. the room.. it was immaculately clean. We had NO problem walking barefoot around the room. Our feet were still clean. The beds were comfy. The hotel as a whole was fantastic. Would DEFINITELY stay here again if in the area!!!!

There was nothing I didn't like!

The owners continue to make updates to improve the property. Exterior painting and outside lights made a huge improvement over previous stays.

This classic college town motel is charming. It's close to the KU campus. The place is well-maintained and a bargain compared to the nearby chain hotels that raise rates to take too much advantage of the KU calendar.
