Excellent location for visits to KU campus or downtown Lawrence. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Whoever designed the bathrooms didn't do the hotel / guests a favour. A rack or hooks for towels or clothes is missing in bathroom and main room. A curved shower curtain over a rectangular shower cabin is programmed flooding. I understand that a hotel does not service the rooms during a two-night stay - it's cheaper and saves a bit of laundry. But when everything by design stays moist, a change of towels would have been nice. The information on Booking.com about parking fees is false. Parking is USD 25 per night.

Hotel was gorgeous, had amazing curbside appeal. Inside was very nice. Had a restaurant and bar area off the lobby. We enjoyed dinner there and it was good. Service was great. The first room we were put in was not the room I was expecting according to pictures from room details when I booked it. It showed that our room selection would have a nice large tub and it did not. The door was also broken. Once we got it open it hung from the hinge and no longer lined up with the frame to be able to close unless physically picked it up every time and closed it. I went back to the front desk and explained these things and she happily upgraded us to one of the newly remodeled suites on the 6th floor. It had a balcony, a kitchen, a huge bathroom and was very nice. We enjoyed our stay there and the rooftop bar was a nice place to relax and enjoy the nice evening and views.

Having to pay for parking, I think the price for the rooms more than pays for being able to park in tje garage. Should be included.

First - what a location. A completely unique building situated just on the edge of Kansas University. My room essentially had a view of the football stadium, and the walk to campus was incredibly beautiful. The Hotel is literally just steps from the center of campus. The building is unique and historic, a bit odd, but not clinical or identical to every other hotel you've stayed at. The room was dominated by the king bed, and a very comfortable bed it was. The bathroom was nice, but nothing exceptional. Absolutely no complaints about comfort or cleanliness. All top notch. I would 100% stay there every time I need to visit KU, nothing else is close!

There are some issues that could be improved. The parking is under the building and I didn't realize that it had a fee. In the USA you sort of know when you are going to pay for parking, middle of a big city --- you're paying for parking -- Lawrence Kansas (na they don't charge, really?). I think you could park on the street next to the hotel for free, so consider that. The other thing was that my room had breakfast included (as per Booking.com), but was still charged for breakfast, a small slip, but annoying (I didn't check my invoice until a week later). I ordered a Bagel with Lox, and while good, it wasn't lox but crumbled salmon, a little odd. It was still good and the staff were delightful. Still a wonderful place, but little areas to improve upon.

We spent a lot of time on my alma mater's campus which is where the Oread is located. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and server Chloe was outstanding at service and hospitality. It was really busy on Saturday as we watched the football game at the bar with many other people. And we had a fabulous time in great part due to her hard work and attitude. I was an HR Director for thousands of employees at the US Forest Service and high potentials always impress me. Hotel is very nice and clean. The parking garage is safe and important as campus parking is always a challenge otherwise.

We love to stay at the Oread. Lawrence was where I grew up and the Oread is the nicest hotel.

The building is beautiful and the room was very comfortable with an amazing view of Lawrence, KS. The staff was wonderful and did their best to make sure that our stay was relaxing and we had all the information we needed to really feel at home. I would not hesitate to stay again.

It is hard to imagine what could have been better. Overall everything was great, there was parking on the property, there was a good breakfast. The only thing that the hotel staff said they did not have were slippers for the room. However, that is a very small point.

The place is beautiful and a great location

Everyone and everything was amazing however the windows in the room were filthy and the front entrance doors were dirty also. Look closely at my sunset photo and you will see all the dirt ( I have my receptionist clean our front doors of my business daily as a suggestion)

Comfortable beds and very helpful manager.

It was cold. In room and in lobby. No sockets in the lobby so we weren’t able to work there

I love the location of The Oread! Walking distance to KU campus which is a bonus since we were visiting for Freshman Orientation. The view from our room was overlooking the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and the Campanile! Bonus, just steps outside our hotel door, was the 5th floor terrace with 360 degree panoramic views of the KU campus and downtown Lawrence!

The location is amazing. I was there for the college visit day and you can't find a better hotel location, as you know!

The room was a bit sterile for my taste. I would have liked to have a rug or carpet when getting out of bed. Or something in the room that helps it feel a little cozier. I'm not an interior designer so I'll leave that to them! :)

Staff was courteous. Rooms were spacious and clean, as well as the hotel itself. Good restaurant and bar on site. Close to everything KU.

$25/ night parking
