We stayed 15 nights with our dog and loved Cascina Borgofrancone, her owner, staff and the surrounding area. The owner and staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful from small to major, the buffet breakfast is delicious, fresh and varied everyday, there is a Finnish and 2 dry saunas, the swimming pool is small but big enough for easy going relaxation, the rooms are clean, stylish and have wonderful views. The surrounding is magnificent, the mountain views, the old farm houses, with the freezing river Adda, the fresh lake and many walks to Colico, the waterfalls or neighbouring towns. The people from this part of Italy are so open and good! We all loved our stay!

The location and size of apartments

Rooms could be cleaner- there were layers of dust on the shelves in our apartment. The playground was very tired… there was some rubbish in it which one of the staff members put in the slide house instead of throwing it away… We travelled with a small child and on the second night there was a wedding at the venue which we were never told about. It was right under our windows and lasted until at least 1am. None of us slept that night, it was horrible. We did complain and got that night reimbursed. With that said, not sure it’s a good place for a quiet holiday, especially with children- confirm if there are any parties planned for the duration of your stay.

The swimming pool and spa facility was great. The staff that were available, were very accommodating and tried to help as much as possible. The setting for the accommodation is absolutely stunning, the barn conversion we stayed in was beyond our expectations and the food at the restaurant was amazing.

The property is short distance from Calico but transport links are not great and you need to walk appropriately 0.5 miles from the bus stop along a busy highway to the accommodation. Reception is also only available until 3pm and many staff do not know English.

Our 3rd stay in this place. There is something about this property. Its very quite and comfortable. Spa and Sauna are great. Breakfast could be better as the choice of food items is "this cake or that cake". You get the point, but cannot fault with that.

Breakfast. Could be better. There is hardly anything available for breakfast. Over the years I feel the breakfast standard has slightly declined. There used to be better choices last year and year before but now it very limited.

Restaurant facility that provided breakfast was excellent. Choice and quality always top with home made products made from home grown produce. The staff always asked if other hot drink requirements besides coffee was required. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the site was off road so, no main road traffic.

nature is amazing. The view from the SPA is beautiful. Apartment is big and has a great potential.

when we arrived the told us that they have a wedding next day ( Friday) and the restaurant closed for guests. That was one of the main reasons why I choose this place. unfortunately we had to use a car and search for restaurants in nearby villages. In the evening my son fell of the bed. the frame of the bed was to big for the bed insert (picture attached). Bed was extremely uncomfortable also in the main bedroom. The intention of my booking was to comfortable end the vacation, but was not even close to this. Bathroom is ok, but their was not a single thing where someone can hang a towel. Nothing. Not a single edge. Breakfast consisted of few sweet things and coffee. Enough for adults, but for my teenage children who don’t eat sweets, just not appropriate.

Excellent hotel/resort. Everything was so smooth and simple. Large room with great view, swimming pool, sauna, restaurant and great outdoor location to explore. What more can you ask for. We travelled with our dog without knowing much about the place or the hotel but I have to say that we will return to this property for sure. Nothing was too much for them. They even give you free bikes to explore the area if you want to. The restaurant was almost shut by the time we checked in but the guys / gals there welcomed us and make dinner for us and kept the place open till the time we were there. Not once rushed us out of there.

Nothing in particular but the only thing I can think of is the out of hour operation. The reception closes at 17:00 or 18:00 depending upon the season of the year. I thought they should leave a FAQ card or file in the room for guests who might be in need of emergency care of anything else out of hours. Not that I ever needed it but in case if anyone wants it, it will be handy if they leave a card with an emergency phone number or doctor on call etc.

Quiet location, very well kept property and friendly, helpful staff at both reception area and restaurant. Breakfast was excellent as is the spa area.

The kitchenette could do with a couple of other utilities, eg a chopping board and bread knife as well as a dust pan and brush.

We have used this property for the 2nd time and its a very good place to explore what Lake Como has to offer. Good location, breakfast and good Spa facilities if you want to use it.

Nothing really. If I have to pick then I would say the bed can be a bit more comfy and also consider opening the restaurant for Dinner more days.

Very nice location and well kept property. Beautiful walks around the farmhouse and the indoor pool and jacuzzi makes it more relaxing. Helpful staff and spacious rooms.

Breakfast includes a selection of cold items but can be better with warm items.
