Everything was great. It is a nice, small, simple hotel around 15 minutes from the ferry and 10 to reach the Menaggio centre. We had the full breakfast (10€ per person) and it was a great decision - scrambled eggs freshly made with bacon, cappuccino, tea, juices, some musli with fruits and yogurt, bread making station (toaster, bread, butter, cheese, some sliced meat, jams and Nutella), there were some pastries and cookies as well. Highly recommend it for simple breakfast with a great view. The room had what we needed, the bed was comfortable and the view from balcony was great.

Our stay was nearly perfect. The room was large and clean with high ceilings and much charm. Our view from the balcony was spectacular. The hotel breakfast was very good in a comfortable room with a beautiful view. Dinner and/or drinks and cheese are offered. The hotel stood out as unique and memorable, in a rare combination of quaint and luxurious. Parking was free and handy. The only facts for guests to keep in mind are that there is no elevator and the walk to the hotel from town and the ferry is a few minutes up a hill. Neither of these are true negatives as the hotel would not be as special with an added elevator ruining the historic design or the peace and view of the location being affected were it right in town.

We were late arriving due to transportation problems. Hotel staff not only graciously accommodated our late arrival, they offered a late meal in our room as we did not have time to stop for dinner and local restaurants were closed. Their kindness turned the worst travel day in memory into a good feeling of being taken care of. The rest of our stay was very pleasant. Menaggio is a wonderful town, not as touristic as Bellagio and Varenna, so you feel like you are in Italy. The hotel breakfast is good. We took a day trip by ferry to Bellagio, which is lovely, and had a nice lunch. It was nice to be able to return to the hotel for a simple dinner. I wish we had a little more time to walk around Menaggio and to check out the local restaurants. It felt like Varenna did when we stayed there 30 years ago.

One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk up from the lake, but we had a great view of the lake from our room and Menaggio is a sweet little town.

Hotel Location in the hills, so the view of the lake from the Room Balcony was spectacular! (We enjoyed evening wine and morning coffee with this view) Hotel bar for drinks (eg. coffee & wine), and it was not too expensive to buy and take back to room. This was great as there wasn't any other options within a short walk for this. Room size was good, and the en-suite bathroom was big! Staff were very friendly.

No elevator (that I could find), so this is worth bearing in mind if you need one. Hotel breakfast selection didn't look big. It wasn't included with our room selection, but I'm glad we opted to eat out. The road outside the room was a little noisy during the daytime, but it didn't affect our stay.

The hotel is on the hill, with our room overlooking the hotel's beautiful garden which is full of flowers overlooking the lake. Stunning view really The location is also perfect, it is in Menaggio, a beautiful town on lake Como, which is a calm, laid back, and classly place (unlike other areas which are busy and noisy) where you can dine or have a drink by the lake.

Nothing. But note, the rooms do not have aircon, which was fine when i visited because the weather was crisp, clean and cool breeze, so i slept comfortably with the balcony door open. So check which season you are visiting and whether it becomes very hot.

Tidy hotel, in a lovely location, very quiet and a great balcony with views across the lake and mountains. We spend most of our time outdoors but the facilities were good, and dinner and breakfast were on offer and looked good (we ate out). Be warned the hotel location is about a mile outside of the main town and it's up a hill so a degree of fitness is required. The walk down to the town is via some cobbled steps, it's actually very nice, but not for platform shoes....

I think each room could really do with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool.

Clean and comfortable accommodation. I stayed in a garden-view room, and it was just as nice as I expected. It was great to have my morning coffee on our small garden-view terrace. The breakfast was so good too!

Nothing. It is a bit uphill from the center of Menaggio, but the alleys in the area are so beautiful that we didn’t mind walking around. We had a car, so there was no problem with our luggage.

The owner and staff were so incredibly nice and did everything they could to make our stay better. We had dinner in the garden one of the nights and we honestly felt like royalty. The rooms are spacious and clean and had a spectacular view over the lake. There was parking for our car. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this place!

Although we didn't need it, there is no airconditioning

We had a great stay at this iconic location! We stayed in a room facing the lake with a scenic and unforgettable view, greeted by friendly staff and it’s quite close to Menaggio promenade (note that is possible to walk up there but with a suitcase it’s a bit unconfortable but the going down is easy)

The only thing which was unexpected was that bathroom was in a different room, but it’s your own and it is actually nice!

This is a lovely hotel a bit uphill from the lake. It is very cozy with nice views of the lake and mountains from the room. The room itself is very clean with everything you need. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty. There is a place to park your car, so it is very convenient.

No air conditioner in the room. There is a ventilator but in a hot summer weather its barely sufficient. Make sure to close window shutters for a day so that the room is cool in the evening
