We had the most amazing time at Octant Évora. Thank you!! We were travelling with our 1 year old daughter and this is the first truly family friendly hotel we have ever been to. There were toys and play areas everywhere. Small details like microwaves, bottle warmers etc. baby monitors. Everything was made so easy. The hotel itself is lovely and feels very luxurious. There is one pool for kids and three separate adult only pools which are beautiful. We left our daughter napping and enjoyed spending time in the adult pools which are small and intimate - we mostly had a pool to ourselves which was amazing. The hotel has great grounds, animals you can meet and a lovely lake walk. Staff were super friendly, helpful and generally brilliant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with young families, but anyone could have a nice time here

The aircon in the rooms was so cold. I slept with a dressing gown or jumper on! Sadly it was too cold for our daughter, despite adding lots of layers, so we had a few wake ups in the night when she usually sleeps through no problem. Unfortunately you are not able to change the aircon temperature as it is part of a centralised system. As many reviews stated, the food was not great. We did a taco night and whilst the setting by the food truck was beautiful, the tacos and risotto were terrible. Similar situation with the main restaurant. The tea bags weren’t replaced each day in our room which was a bit annoying for our morning tea!

We hired a villa for 4 nights in April for two adults and two young children (age 9 and 7). We just wanted to relax and explore the local area - the town of Évora and the surrounding countryside, including the cork oaks and ancient olive trees. Apparently it’s really hot in summer (35-40C)… even in April it was peaking in the mid 20s C. The villa was very spacious, with two good-sized bedrooms, and well-equipped, including a kitchen. The outside area was private, good for relaxing by the pool with views of the countryside. Our children loved the farm and the kids’ play area. There were lots of tame animals for petting - goats, sheep and a pony. The kids’ club was well organised and our children enjoyed some the activities - pottery and pizza making. We chose the hotel because it had an indoor pool (the outdoor pools are too cold in April!) Pool was a bit small but did the job - we went every day. Restaurant food (including the breakfast buffet) and service were generally quite good, especially the grill menu, but the bar and restaurant lacked a bit of ambience. Possibly the wine could’ve been more free flowing! The local old railway line is a great spot for cycling and running. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend the hotel - fairly good value for money and something different from the Algarve!

The outdoor areas are lovely. Nice walks around the grounds and cute goats. Indoor communal areas and restaurant are really nice big spaces. Very dog friendly and a big plus you can take them everywhere including the restaurant. Food was great. We only ate from the bar menu so didn’t sample the dinner menu but there was a good variety of options. Service was a bit off though, pleasant staff just lacking direction.

The room was generally a little bit tired and particularly the bathroom which just felt old and in need of a good refurb….terrible shower. Very child friendly which is a plus if you have your kids with you but gets a bit much if you don’t. Very much a Kids Rule zone! Excessive charge of €50 per dog per night shocked me. My dog was made welcome with a bed and food/water bowls which I appreciated but even so this was too much and increased the cost of the stay to a point I felt didn’t warrant the overall offering.

The location from the moment you arrive makes you transform into a relaxed state . An authentic oasis , respecting its surroundings nestled in nature . The staff was so amazing from booking to check in and tirelessly helping to resolve an issue I had with my reservation . Always delivered with a smile . Also the massage we received were of great quality with very knowledgeable Practioners .

Only a few small suggestions . Potentially an area for drinks inside for adults , maybe even leveraging the spacious open lobby area . Outside when the weather is nice is no problem ! Also maybe considering to separate the kids activity area from the main dining room as at times it was a bit noisy . But these are small suggestions .

We loved the hotel and it was an amazing stay with our 1yr old. The location and facilities are beautiful. The room is super spacious and great to have a baby - cot and amenities for kids provided. The balcony was great to hang out. Super comfortable bed and amenities. The outdoor possibilities for children - animal farm, games, garden, playroom - made it super easy to have our baby. Plus the food was great and the service too.

It was winter so the pools outside were very cold and the indoor pool is very deep, so not so great for children. But still the pool was a nice temperature and our daughter bathed in it

The property is stunning and quite vast. The lighted path throughout that takes you to little places to sit, have a drink and admire the view were so nice. It was the ultimate place to relax and unwind after a full day of travel. The rooms were spacious, and well decorated. Staff couldn't have been nicer. It is very kid friendly. We stayed at the beginning of the off-season so it wasn't an issue for us. I could imagine if you are a couple without kids that the summer would be quite packed.. just something to keep in mind depending how you like to travel. In all, we were pleasantly surprised. I knew it would be nice, but it definitely exceeded expectations.

The breakfast was lovely. Everything you could want plus more. The dinner was... fine. A bit bland, a bit boring and a little overcooked. We ordered the tiger prawns and one of the pizzas.. it was just meh. Our server was a delight though.

Beautiful spacious grounds with lots of little pockets of interest and beauty to admire or relax in. Lovely modern interior. Some outdoor areas didn’t seem open / were under construction (additional eating areas/ kids playground)? therefore would be great to go back to see the developments. Great to have the range of pools (adults/kids/indoor) especially for some peacefulness and when it was too hot outside!

Our only downside was the room we were given was next to the outdoor bins, not the most beautiful view and noisy on collection mornings. A shame really.

Great stay with kids, so many cute little touches like a teddy bear in the room, robes in their sizes, a little table to draw on next to reception check-in, kids club etc - they've thought about it a lot. Good varied menu for kids and nice wood fire oven pizzas. The villa was perfect for staying with kids.

The pool both in room and resort were FREEZING. To the point where the kids who usually don't care didn't want to get in. That really impacted our stay. The hotel is 20mins from Evora, just something to work into your overall plan, its not right next door.

Everything. From the moment we stepped in the hotel, to meeting the staff, the Christmas dining service, the general atmosphere of the hotel and even the guests, the services like the fitness room, pool, sauna and massage treatments - we LOVED. The rooms are so spacious and a great size to chill out in. Bathroom, all good. Outdoor mini plunge pools with the seating area, lovely way to relax with a book. The farm - adorable. Loved going to see the goats and pigs every day. We did an activity booked through the hotel of the horse ride which was also lovely too.

Nothing to be honest. I couldn't fault the place.

The service and stuff were super friendly, welcoming and always in focus to make our stay the best. The design of the hotel and the rooms was very beautiful and the indoor pool was also accessible with kids. Breakfast was amazing with fresh honey and many options.

The outdoor family pool needs some deeper cleaning - maybe hard to do whilst guests are around and something for the closing time.
