It’s a cute property in the city centre. Rooms and facilities are adequate. Nothing fancy or luxurious. It’s very well located at Hamillius station and very easy access to number of restaurants, shops, city tourist information center, and main attractions. Staff is very friendly, I interacted most with Stephan at the reception, he is very polite and helpful. Breakfast is fulfilling and self managed. You can boil some eggs, toast some bread, there is jam butter fruits cheese (ham I think as I did not eat it) croissants etc. pretty fulfilling The breakfast area is cosy There is a kettle and some tea/coffee sachets in the room. Also bottled water.

The bathroom is of a decent size but the shower area is small and high. So travellers need to take extra care while getting in and out of the shower. For a 2 night stay- manageable

It was in an excellent location, it was safe, it was clean, it was cozy, and the staff wonderful. It was great to have a restaurant as part of the hotel to grab something quick. The breakfast was wonderful including some of everything, including fresh eggs, and a boiler so that you boil them on the spot,! They also had a fresh orange juice . I love that they provided two bottles of water for you daily in your room. Love this property! The Sculpture artwork also a very nice addition. Linens were white and crisp. I would definitely stay here again.

The only request I would have used for decaffeinated coffee. I would make the check area with the two white plastic chairs, a little more welcoming, and representative of how wonderful this property is. I would jazz it up in the picture so that it showed some of the sculptures and a beautiful welcome sign with a beautiful chair to sit in.

I loved that I needed to quickly escape from a not-so-great property, and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. I loved that they offered to take my luggage, and I was fortunate enough that the room was already ready, so I was able to check in early. I also forgot my outlet converter and I was able to borrow one. I loved the location in relation to the restaurants, the shopping, the bus routes, and the scenic views. It couldn't have been better. I also loved the charm of the hotel. I didn't want some luxurious overpriced hotel. I wanted to feel like I was in Luxembourg- and this hotel gave me that. Private bathroom, windows opened to allow fresh air, lift for your luggage, and a safe was in the room if needed. The manager was amazing, he never made me feel like the pain in the butt I thought I was, and he never stopped working. Breakfast was a bonus.

Some hotels have cell phone charging ports; It would be nice if they had these added, but it's not a deal breaker.

Fantastic location right in the centre, close to shops and amenities. Walking distance from basically all the tourist attractions. Bus 6 & 16 to the airport is literally 3 minutes walk at Hamilius station. Felt ok and safe to walk around on a Saturday night at 9-10pm as a solo female traveller. Breakfast was so lovely, they offer everything you need. Staff very friendly. I'd come back!

Heating didn't work on the first night and the room got really cold, but I found an extra blanket in the wardrobe. Heating was fixed the next day so problem was solved quickly.

From the moment I arrived it was super nice. First - there is an elevator, which is not always the case in small hotels, for example, in Paris. At the reception there was a wonderful man who spoke very good English but switched to Franch once he heard I've been trying to learn and don't get much practice speaking. He was super clear and friendly. The breakfast was simple and super tasty with sufficient verity. The location is a winner. Right in the center. But can get a bit loud in the evening as there is a big square with cafés and a gazebo with live music. All way clean and went smooth.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is only 3 stops away on the tram from the train station. The trams and other public transports are free for everyone. There is a square in front of the hotel where you can find restaurants, convenience stores and the palace, cathedral and other attractions are a short walk away from the hotel. The room is spacious and my room facing the square, very nice view of all the old buildings from my windows. Breakfast was great with good selections of bread, ham and cheese. I needed to check out very early at 3.30 in the morning and the staff let me take bread and other breakfast items to have in my room. They also gave me the time to catch the bus to airport. Highly recommended

We found it a fantastic choice during our three-night stay at Hotel Francais in Luxembourg. Its prime location made it perfect for exploring the old city and offered an easy commute to the university and the convention center, where our conference was held. We appreciated being within walking distance of the old city's charming restaurants and tourist attractions. The hotel staff was a standout feature, displaying exceptional helpfulness and friendliness throughout our stay. On some days, while one of us attended the conference, the other could comfortably work from the hotel. Despite a brief electricity outage, the problem was promptly resolved, ensuring minimal disruption. The hotel's facilities were conducive to productive work, boasting reliable Wi-Fi and a peaceful environment.

The only minor drawback of our experience at Hotel Francais was the room size, which felt a bit cramped for two people.

Hotel Francais is excellent. Based on the main square with easy access from the airport and bus stop. Every staff member we met at the hotel was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast (buffet) was great, with excellent choices; the dining room was spacious and bright, overlooking the main square. Our room was a good size, the bed was large and comfortable; everything we required was provided. Next door (and linked to hotel) was Cafe Francais and we would definitely recommend eating here. Excellent, friendly service and fabulous food.

The hotel is located directly on one of the main squares in the old city, so shopping and many restaurants are close by. A Christmas market was being set up, but it hadn't opened yet. Public transportation, including the new tram a few minutes walk away. The taxi could drive up to the hotel front, although the area is otherwise pedestrian. The breakfast included bread, croissants, cheese and other items for bread, fruit salat, egg that you had to boil yourselves. I didn't notice the juice, as it was on the other side of the door into the room. My room was clean and in the back of the house, away from the square. However I did hear some noises in the early morning that came perhaps from deliveries or breakfast preparations. I arrived after midnight but the night watchman let me in after I rang the doorbell.

Already boiled eggs at breakfast would have been nice. Less noise in the early morning.

Second stay. The hotel is located right in the center of the old city. Surrounded by restaurants and shops. There is a plaza right intron of the hotel where a Christmas Market was held. It was great to have such an event right out side the door. The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good, but keep in mind it is a classical European/French breakfast. So not a big buffet with many options.
