Beautiful spacious room with a view overlooking the dock, we were there to catch the ferry to New Castle the next day, so a good rest before the crossing and a short walk to the terminal. Another plus point is the full scale kitchen on the same floor, though we didn't cook there, we could use the supplies and facilities there .

Without a physical reception, we ( 70+) had to struggle with digital checking in and the digital key was also something new to us ! We were rather disappointed with the breakfast, too little choices and we had to wait for refills, it didn't match the other facilities of the hotel, sadly!

room clean and spacious modern ,breakfast very nice and fresh pancakes were made to order if non were available on the breakfast table. location excellent near the docks with good seafood restaurant and close by to the city ,but transport will be needed ideally a car.

intial room given a the front of the hotel had a very strange smoke detector place just outside the bathroom door on the ceiling . We were advised to keep the door closed when finishing showering as this is sensitive, but with no extraction in the bathroom so this was unavoidable. so once the door of the bathroom was opened the fire alarm went off. mad panic by staff to reset and attend the room to check all was well. we then asked for another room which had a bath in the room itself and was very nice. but this smoke detector which is supposed to detect a fire sets off the alarm for moisture is very strange and i have never heard of in the uk. hotel needs to check this is correct?

Very comfortable and unique features. The styling of this hotel makes it fun, the staff were great. The hotel is on the ijmuiden heritage walk and also 15 minute walk to the shopping area.

As the hotel was used by a lot of cruise ship passengers may I suggest that a transfer bus is organised at a fixed time (passengers pay a fixed fare and book in advance). The hotel can ask guests in advance if they require the transfer. On this occasion Taxis were arranged as and when required but ijmuiden appears to have limited taxis available.

The hotel is lovely, comfortable, clean, fresh and quirky. Love the fact the 2 restaurants have a completely different vibe. Staff were very helpful and the availability of a secure bike store was a definite bonus. The restaurant has a good choice and the food was well prepared. It's not in the poshest part of the town but very quiet, close to the interesting old town and the cycle routes north and south. Don't be put off by the location. It's a gem of a place.

It was extremely convenient for getting the ferry back to Newcastle. The room was excellent and very quirky. With its circular bed, interesting artwork on the ceiling and a glitter ball with a spotlight added in, make this room memorable. The digital keys are fantastic if a little confusing.

Beds are comfortable, enough hanging space for clothes. Coffee and tea making facilities and daily cleaning / replenishing whenever suits you. Spotlessly clean. Continental breakfast has a good variety. Not aware of any gf options though. Lovely shower / toilet room. Good lighting and windows. Spijkers restaurant is the best in the area and the choices have something to suit everyone. Large outdoor seating area. Staff are lovely. Wide choice of drinks at the bar. Parking is free right outside. Quiet. Bicycles for hire.

"Balcony" door had to remain locked but there is an air conditioning / heating unit.

Facilities, staff attitude and welcome, though mostly it's online checking, comfy room, laundry available..communal kitchen formal prep..

Breakfast let it down. When we arrived at breakfast, at 8am each day there was no fruit left and hardly any eggs. Such a shame for a good hotel.

A hidden gem of a hotel, completely unexpected in the location with great rooms, great staff, and great food. Air conditioning and a fridge on the room was a bonus I was working at the Zandvoort race circuit the following day and it was very convenient location.... clearly an even more convenient location for the ferry to Newcastle....!! I'll stay again

we had a fantastic stay. they made special accomodation for our bikes to be secure since we did a bike packing trip around the netherlands. we loved the stay.
