This is an old motel which has been kept clean and updated with wood laminate or vinyl flooring eliminating mold, mites and most dirt. Shower was excellent with good water pressure, three settings on the shower head (all worked well) and shower was tall enough for someone 6’ or so. We had a small single queen room with adequate lighting, microwave and mini fridge. Only turned TV on once but it worked and had cable or similar with lots of channels if that is important to you. Definitely on the main road and not sound proof. Bed was soft. Cleanliness was 8/10. Staff was approachable and helpful. We stayed several days and had to have the keys reset but staff was quick to assist at any hour. No fan in bathroom. Overall pleasant stay and was much better than anticipated knowing the motel was older. I’d say a solid 3 star place with extra points for location, cost, cleanliness and staff. Plug in bathroom is good. Heating and cooling is good. Walking distance to Subway, Dairy Queen and Coffee shop.
Could be noisy on occasion. Room had not table. (It had a chair and two night stands.) One of the lights in the bathroom made a funny noise so we didn’t use it. No fan in bathroom.

The location was convenient. Leah Jason highway is a little bit noisy, but it was easy to get in and out. It’s very close to McDonald’s in the gas station. The rooms have been remodeled. The bed was very comfortable. The flooring was all in good condition. The outside looks dated, the rosebushes are beautiful
Considering it’s a two star location it was really really expensive because it was Oregon State University graduation weekend and all the prices were double. I could’ve used dry towels for day two but they don’t service your room unless you requested.

didn't realize there was breakfast. Dang lol. Quiet little motel that has obviously had some upgrades/renovations. Myself and the kids found the beds comfortable but my wife didn't. It's close to food and everything. Staff was friendly and the price was reasonable. We were mostly visiting family so pretty much just slept there but would stay here again next time we go to Philomath if family are full up.
If I had to complain about anything there were only 2 things I can think of. It could of been cleaner, as in it needed a deep clean (bathroom around the floor/tub) and floors left our feet black (not sure if they use oil on the wood floors, could have been the case) but all in all wasn't too bad. I wasn't disappointed. The florescent lights in the room and the bathroom were odd and freaked the kids out LOL. They felt like they were in a scary movie which was hilarious. Especially the bathroom one because it flickers when it turns on like in a scary movie.

Room was very clean and well furnished.
Room was kind of small. No desk or way to work sitting down. Microwave was underpowered. Room ran out of toilet paper. It was annoying to have a loud fan every time you turned on the bathroom light.

There was breakfast? We weren’t informed of one if there was. Check in was quick. Very comfy bed. Great hot shower. Lent me a phone charger.
The check in employees at the front office never smiled, or said something like, “Welcome, glad you’re here.” It was just straight business to them. A little warmth and hospitable words go a very long way. We’re the paying guests; we shouldn’t walk away wondering if we bugged them. Also, mini fridge motor had a loud, banging sound when starting that we ended up unplugging it at night.

The room was very large and had a table and some chairs as well as a kitchenette. The beds were comfortable.
The parking lot isn't designed for full size vehicles. We had to move our truck so someone else could get their truck into their spot. Didn't like the window in the bathroom as it didn't lock.

Impressively clean and simply, but nicely, updated rooms. Very close to restaurants.
Small room. Looked a bit shady at first glance, but that was an incorrect assumption.

This is a good place to stay in Philomath. We went specifically to go to the Gathering Together restaurant which is just down the road. Staff were great, room clean. The motel was about half full and although it faces onto a divided highway, we experienced no problems with road noise. Easy Checkin/checkout, parking in front of one's room, nice furniture, warm but with a/c. Good value. It was just fine, will certainly stay again.

This is one of the only hotels in Philomath area. we were trying to stay as close as we could to Alsea. The hotel doesn’t look like much from the road, maybe even a little questionable - but it was actually really clean with decent bedding, the staff was accommodating and they allow pets for a really decent charge. we traveled with 2 dogs and paid 40$ for two nights. hard wood floors were awesome for having pets in the room. rooms were cleaned and towels refreshed each day we stayed there. beds were firm but comfortable, we slept well. we stayed over a weekend and it was pretty quite. there’s a soda machine and free WiFi.
the price was quite high for a motel in Philomath, but that’s inflations fault.

The Galxie exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean and larger than anticipated. It was nice to be in walking distance to different food and coffee options too.
