A beautiful B&B in a very quaint, rural village. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable, giving us some helpful information about the area too. The facilities were of a high standard, it felt like home from home, our room was spacious, well equipped with a good size en-suite bathroom. We also had access to a lovely lounge area as well. The local pub was very friendly and being built in the 1700's had a nice authentic feel too. Breakfast was plentiful with a range of fruit, cereal and hot options available. Ullswater Lake is also only a short drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the disappointment of our balloon flight being cancelled. Would 💯 recommend!

Our only negative would be that other than the local pub everything was a drive away, albeit a short one.

A very friendly and accommodating couple who made us very welcome. Ideal for breaks in the lake district and close to major motorways and a roads. The Queens Head in next door but one serves very good food.

Nothing worth mentioning other that the property is up for sale due pending retirement of the owners. If you are interested in owning a B&B in a village close to the lakes and easy access via major roads this property might be for you. Check it out

The host waited for me to arrive long after I had planned to. The room was clean and comfortable and all of my needs were met. Everything was as advertised, except for the road closures on my route.

The access route was closed for roadworks, but nobody advised me of this at the time! This resulted in an additional 2.5 hours of unplanned driving late at night. My room was very cold throughout my stay.

Very clean and comfortable bedrooms, with lovely dining room and also a relaxing lounge / garden room dedicated to guests. The owners Robin and Marion were great hosts and they provided a superb breakfast. Great location, quiet rural setting yet only a few minutes in off the M6. We would’ve been very happy to stay for longer but we were only there for one evening.

Parking at property, both rooms were great, with en-suites, owners were lovely, there was a guest living room with television, breakfast was superb. We had a fabulous meal at The Queens Head Inn which is 2 doors up (very good for gluten-free), in the morning we filled up with petrol at little garage next door (very reasonable price).

There was nothing to dislike.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We were greeted warmly and given all the info we needed. We were asked the next morning how our plans had gone (wedding guests) and a lovely breakfast made for us.

Some background music at breakfast might be nice, such as radio, but that's just personal preference.

It was very helpful to have parking on site. Residents' lounge was a good facility. Good options for breakfast - excellent fresh fruit salad. In a quiet village.

The shower cubicle was small. The room was not large, so there was nowhere to put two large cases.

Location was very handy to the motorway junction and ideal for an overnight stay en route. The facilities are good, property is well kept and the host was very welcoming on arrival. The breakfast was freshly cooked at a time to suit our departure and well presented.
