The property was conveniently located within walking distance to all the old Quebec site as well as museums. It was also easy to drive in and out of that part of the city to get to other destinations like the aquarium or falls. The room was well laid out, spacious, and had all you would need in the little kitchenette. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

There was no water the first morning we woke up due to a pipe bursting in the city. It took an hour to get a hold of someone at the front desk to find out why there was no water. While the loss of water was completely outside the hotel’s control, it would have been better to have sent a note to all the guests so we knew this. Also there was no clock or phone in the room which was slightly annoying.

The location, in a former bank building, is right in the heart of Québec’s Basse-ville, the lower city. The staff are all The restaurant connected to the hotel is fabulous—great food, service, and a wonderful wine list.

The room configuration for four people was a bit odd and awkward. But because the other two staying with us were our two young grandsons, it was not an issue. Had we been with another couple, it would not have been appropriate, particularly with only one bath connected to our “room.” The other issue was that the air conditioning was not adequate—we were too warm. Luckily we brought two small fans with us.

This hotel is amazing. I asked for an upgrade for my 65 birthday. They left me a nice arrangement on my bed and a sweet note The restaurant has the best food ever. Jeff and Margeaux made us feel so welcome in the bar restaurant. We had amazing service and food. Our housekeeper paid close attention to detail and did amazing things with our towels. It's all these little details that make you want to come back. I give this place a 10 out of 10. Thanks so much.

The size of the room was exceptional with a table and four chairs and a complete kitchen. We were located to a great restaurant and many nearby so we did not even use the kitchen. Our view of a quaint street in the lower level of Quebec was excellent. We are use to a king size bed so the bed was a little small for us but the room was extremely clean and everything felt new and up to date. We would stay here again for sure.

A bigger bed.

Awesome location and exceptional staff. This is just a few minutes walk from the heart of old Quebec. The hotel is in a historic building with thick stone walls and vintage windows. In cold weather (it was -9 celsius when we stayed there in February), there is a bit of cold radiating from the windows. It wasn't a major problem except when sitting on the toilet :-) We turned up the heat a bit and were very comfortable. This comes with the old buildings! We had a larger room with full kitchenette, small kitchen table, small office desk, a separate bedroom, 2 tvs with Netflix available (you have to login with your existing account). The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, our night was quiet. Bathroom has a heated floor which is nice, a nice large ceramic shower. Overall a great room with a nice mix of old and new. There's parking around the hotel, however you have to pay for it. We have an electric car and asked for an electric charging station if possible. There are a few right by the hotel, but you're not guaranteed to have one available. However the staff kindly kept one free so we were able to charge overnight which is nice. In all cases, I suggest you ask the staff to help you with parking as you may have to go a few minutes away when it's more busy. Speaking of the staff. Everyone was very kind, very attentive and went out of their way to accommodate us. The gentleman at the reception came outside with me and helped with setting up the app for the charging station. Also, I had made a mistake with our reservation dates and even though it was final and non-refundable, he went out of his way to make the corrections at no extra cost and we ended up having an outstanding stay at the correct dates. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay.

Stayed for 3 nights. Very clean hotel and the room. Absolutely loved how many lights were in the room. We had a small kitchenette with all the utensils, glasses plates etc. Breakfast in the restaurant was perfect. All the food freshly made! You do need to reserve the table for the next day. The place gets packed through the day. We parked at the hotel parking ($25 per night) and decided to walk everywhere. Most famous attractions are walking distance. It was snowing on the last night and the hotel staff cleaned all the cars in the morning, that was such a nice gesture. All of the staff in the hotel and the restaurant were kind and helpful. We will definitely come back!

The breakfast was plenty nice, and the restaurant/bar attached is lively at night with knowledgeable bartenders and a beautiful atmosphere. They let us bring the bottle of wine we bought up to the room with glasses, but you cannot charge things at the restaurant to your room. Which was okay for us!

The ceiling height was low in our room, and there were a few tight hallways and steps we had to drag our luggage through to get to the room. It wasn't too bad though. The bathroom lighting could have been better, but they provide a lit cosmetic mirror to compensate!

Mother daughter trip. 1st night in Quebec. Chose Hotel Port Royal because the suite looked amazing and the Louise Tavern food looked wonderful. Arrived very late, midnight. Front desk helped us with our luggage across the street in the snow. Wished we could have stayed alot longer but had a tour scheduled at another hotel the next day. Ate at Louise for breakfast and dinner... incredible. Our suite was old town Quebe charming, gorgeous view from the round front window!! We were in the room behind the big wreath. Everything about it was impeccable!! Staff was kind, friendly and very accommodating!! Beds were perfect! Loved it all!! Just a beautiful room! They thought of everything! Next time we'll stay longer and visit in Spring or summer. Haven't checked my credit card yet but expect the bill will be fine!

The staff upon arrival were very friendly and the room was a good size with a comfy bed. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotels restaurant which was lovely. The hotel is located in a very beautiful area of the lower town with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. To get to the old town you can either take the bus (the hotel is part of a programme that gives it's guests free bus travel for 3 days so worth asking at reception for some tickets), or if you prefer you can walk to the funicular and either take that up or walk up the stairs.

Nothing, everything was amazing!

My room was in the former bank and it was a huge apartment. Right in the centre of Quebec old town so a perfect location. Reception was very helpful as they knew all about the tours and you could even book direct with them. The hop on hop off bus gave an excellent way to see all the main sights. The carpark was directly in front of the hotel.

The restaurant attached to the hotel- it was not possible to charge the dinner or breakfast directly to your room which I thought was a little odd. Also at breakfast the waitress was in a hurry to present the bill even though I had not finished my breakfast.
