I could not have dreamed up a more perfect place to enjoy Galveston. The mansion is gorgeous, down to the finest details. Breakfast was a delicious, intimate affair; there are only seven rooms, so the breakfast room has seven tables; I had the avocado toast and my husband had the Quiche Lorraine. Everything was divine, including the coffee. Cocktail hour was delightful, too; our hostess made cocktails to order and regaled us with Galveston history and recommendations for dinner. Our room had a peaceful, private balcony overlooking the neighborhood full of jaw-dropping Victorian homes. We were a short walk to the Strand with all its shopping and dining. It was an absolute oasis and I can't wait to go back!

The hotel totally blew us away upon arrival. Steeped in history and a knowledgeable Concierge (Aaron) who can tell you it all. The rooms were magnificent, again steeped in history. Great comfortable bed and very clean room. Breakfast was amazing, cooked fresh when ordered from a menu. Location to the The Strand was within easy walking distance and a short car journey to the Port. Ideal place to stay if travelling around or pre/post Cruise. Staff were all super friendly. Loved the informal get together at 4pm with other guests. We were all from a number of different places. Would stay here again without a shadow of a doubt. Communication via WhatsApp/Booking.com before the stay was great too.

The Mansion on 17th has been one of the best places i have stayed in a long time. The staff is amazing and extremely accommodating. They make you feel at home and provide a beautiful breakfast. I will be returning to enjoy the town and the the house. Excited to return.

Even though they did offer a very nice social hour i do wish you were able to enjoy a nice glass of wine before social hour even if it was for purchase. I had traveled 18 hours before arriving to the house for my birthday cruise the following day, a glass of wine would have been nice. They were very nice and did allow us to check in early that was extremely generous and accommodating.

Here I found nothing but perfection. The service is extraordinary, the house is beautiful, and the neighborhood is a gem. Aaron is an extraordinary person who was attentive to our needs; his recommendations exceeded our expectations. He also took us on a magnificent tour; my husband and I enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets in recent memory. Discovering Galveston and the interesting stories of ghosts and pirates with Aaron was a treasure. He is an extraordinary photographer.. Thank you for making this celebratory trip a memorable one.

This is a golden opportunity for all who stay at special and glorious property. Each room is unique and beautiful and extremely clean. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The happy hour and made to order breakfast are opportunities to chat with other guests. Felt like a member of an extended family; not a guest! The staff took time to give us input on whatever we were looking to do. Bottom line, I didn’t want to leave!!

The staff especially Stephanie went beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The look of the hotel from outside was exceptional.

The room, (room #4) was smaller than expected with no chest of drawers to store clothing, the nightstands were small with no storage. there was no mirror apart form the one in the bathroom above the sink. There was no shelving/storage for toiletries in the bathroom. More selection from the breakfast menu would have been a bonus.

My husband and I loved the beautiful gorgeous view, went here to celebrate our anniversary! We love the Friendly people, staff , food was delicious for breakfast. courtesy wine / mixed drinks and Social drinking of meeting people and talking for an hour. Stephanie the server was enthusiastic and very sweet. The cook made delicious yummy food. Aaron was also helpful. The owner Rick was so generous of upgrading our room to the Freeman's home as well and understanding because of late arrival of next day due to work. Yes I would definitely go back here for sure!!! Everything was beautiful, comfortable, Nice and Elegant!!!

This place is beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and it is very close to the cruise ship terminal.

The only issue I had was paying $30 for a one-way shuttle to drop me off at the cruise terminal. When I booked this shuttle, I was unaware it was one-way—drop-off only. I was told I would need to use an Uber or taxi to return to the mansion to pick up my rental car. I paid $30 for a one-way shuttle and another $25 for a less-than-5-minute Uber.

Our stay started with great communication from our Hostess Kathy. Upon arrival we were welcomed and shown around by wonderful Kathy. The front porch was welcoming and comfortable. The cocktail hour is definitely a nice touch. Our breakfast was cooked to order by the owner/chef and it was excellent! Staff member Stephanie was so kind and helpful. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable.

We appreciated the cocktail hour, but would have liked to have some sort of tiny tidbits to go with our cocktail hour. It appeared from photos online that maybe in the past they served cheese and crackers, but we did not see any.

The location was perfect, the breakfast was lovely, and the ride to our port (for an additional $30 fee) was very convenient. We would stay here again.

There was some miscommunication. I had let the Mansion know that we were going to arrive before checkin time due to the time of our flight and shuttle. There was no-one there to greet us, and once Aaron was there, he had not been informed that we were due to arrive early. We had been told that they would put our room first on the list to clean, but it was not ready when we arrived around 1pm. Also, there was a bit of a septic smell in our room-not bad. We figured it was because the building and the pipes were old.
