The location was great - no more then 15 min walk (to strand, Dolphin tour etc., the food was outstanding the Chef (German) made the most fantastic meals (per your order/meal needs- IE: Low Carb, Low Sugar, etc.) and while we where there the Chef was named the best German Chef in Galveston !! Rooms/Bathrooms were very clean/neat, for the price we paid it was nothing short of exceptional ! We will be going back A Lot more often. For my wife and I we have met some great people (staff) that we now call friends ! Cannot say enough about the stay !

The old adage - Don't break what's not broken ! It holds true to the George Manor house ! Just a Fantastic Place.

George Manor is a beautiful mansion with a very interesting story. The original wood is stunning, the furnishings are beautiful and the wraparound porch and gardens are lovely. There are two additional buildings on the property (one that we were in) that have a living room and kitchen which added to the comfort of our stay. They serve their guests a delicious “full breakfast” daily which was enjoyed very much. The best part of our stay at the Manor was the staff! They are all wonderful! Friendly, accommodating, and full of knowledge about the manor and the Galveston area. Graham and his lovely wife (the owners) were an absolute delight! Graham was also our chef on Sunday!

There was nothing we didn’t like however, if there was a pool on the property that would have been the “cherry on top” for me.

Overwhelmingly appreciative of the entire George team - from the owner to the staff - in making a 36 hour stay into a historical and fun stay at their phenomenal property. Breakfast this morning - in celebration of my birthday - was added bonus. Thank you Valerie in welcoming us for our first but not the last time. And to the Man of the Manor - thank you for connecting dots of Galveston's long history to my family, the region, and to all things art, culture.

The Manor had old world charm, which we prefer to contemporary accommodations. Lots of woodwork, high ceilings and history with beautiful grounds. If you are after central heating and air, this may not be the place for you, but if you want great service and character, you will love the George Manor. The breakfast was excellent. Michael and Graham prepared the best breakfasts that we have had in a B&B. The location was very good with many restaurant options nearby and close proximity to the cruise port. My wife ended up being ill and the staff; Michael, Rosie, Jeff and the owner, Graham, couldn't do enough for us to make her comfortable. If we had stayed at a hotel, nobody would have cared that she was sick, and I would not have been able to distance myself and still stay close by in case she needed me. We felt like we were being cared for by family. Thank you all.

It takes a long time, 2 or 3 minutes, to get hot water to the bathroom we had in the main house.

This was our first visit to Galveston. We booked the hotel as we liked the look and location. We were not disappointed. It was amazing as was the service. We were picked up from the cruise terminal and after dropping our bags we were given a brief tour of the surrounding area and then taken to the Milk Bar (part of the George Manor ownership) which is the most amazing place to visit The art work is fantastic as was the coffee and apple muffin. We met the owner Graham George and his Partner Valerie. The most delightful couple who made sure all our needs were taken care of, even down to taking us to Houston Airport for our flight home. The full English breakfast was delicious. The fridge in our room was stocked with nice little goodies plus drinks. This visit was so special to us we will be returning without a doubt and would highly recommend.

There was nothing not to like,

Location was perfect. We walked to the Strand many times. Loved being in the Victorian House section of Galveston, in a 1900 storm property. The room was nice, bed was comfortable, front porch was wonderful.

A small issue with staff when we arrived at the property (there didn't seem to be anyone working there and we waited a bit and had to call the property owner.) Shower was not cleaned/stocked before we got there and there was some trash left in the trash can.

The breakfast was a large English breakfast with beans, eggs, danish, fruit and several meats, juice, coffee or tea. The home is very quaint, love the parlor and the porches. Our room was a suite with full kitchen, ice machine, refrigerator & stove, living area and separate bedroom and attached bath. We loved that we could leave our car safely in their private locked lot while we were gone on our cruise and the rate was comparable to the cruise parking. Love that David was able to take us to the port and pick us up after we returned. The location is perfect for the historical downtown area with a lovely garden yard.

I am not a fan of beans or sausage and would prefer being asked, rather than served a full plate of food, so the foods I dislike are not wasted. I would have loved to join you for tea or dinner but felt the cost was a bit too high.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The George Manor. Everything was immaculate and the staff were all wonderful to deal with. It was such a nice added bonus to get up to a spectacular cooked breakfast with additional fruit and muffins every morning.Highly recommended!

No TV in our "bedroom" and we couldn't see the other TV from the bedroom either.

Staff cleanliness and comfort

No hooks in bathroom for cosmetic bags or pjs. And no privacy on bath window. Windows from next door can see into shower through side of blinds. If I can see them they can see me. I had to stay at front of shower. Also most blinds didn’t work. You had to manually move slats. Complimentary lotion had broken seal and squirted everywhere. I would prefer more complimentary soda and no beer. I know some of this is small.

Rosie and Michael welcomed us and made us feel comfortable from our first step on the property. From the breakfast to the ice maker in the room, everything was well thought out for the comfort of their guests. There was not one question that we asked that wasn't answered ~ mostly about the history of the house. Will definitely return when we visit Galveston again.
