Wonderful place to go and be pampered. The staff is fantastic, from the front desk to barman Guido, Veronica who showed us the winery, Alfonso the maitre and the restaurant staff, all went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The building is stunning and the grounds very well kept. Furnishings are sustainable and robust, all wood, stone etc and no plastic. Everything used once is re-used.

The location is a bit remote from Piemonte’s main sights (on the upside, it is in a quiet and beautiful area with small villages and vineyards). Note that while there is a pool, it is a 10 minute walk from the main building. We did not use it and had the impression other guests did not either.

Everything from the quality of the buildings, to the views were spectacular. It was a quiet getaway conveniently located to the town and vineyards of Gavi. The service was exceptional and the pool was an added bonus.

The Gallina restaurant, while very good, overworked the food for anyone looking for a traditional or comfort meal that the Italian cuisine is renowned for. But, the quality of the mostly 'homegrown' produce was exceptional.

Everything, except the one thing.

We stayed in a suite. And it was surprising to learn that you have to pay extra for water in the room. It looks strange when you charge so much for a night in a hotel, and then another 3 euros for water)))))).

Beautiful views over the vineyards and creative design features throughout this property. Service is outstanding and great restaurant and bar. We arranged a visit to the cellar below the garden and it was a special step back in time. Great place for a special few days away.

I was impressed by the hotel staff – they were all so friendly, kind and welcoming. The hotel is nicely designed, and the rooms are spacious and very stylish. The restaurant offers fantastic local food, including local wines and truffles.

The only disappointment was a thin pillow. Unfortunately, there was just one thin pillow in the room that ruined my sleep.

This was one of the most memorable trips of our lives! We met the whole family. Watched them work their land - even got a taste of the harvest. I couldn’t not recomend more highly.

Bed was a little hard ansld pillows we a bit to hard, but i am sure if i had asked they would have fixed this for me.

Restaurant is just amaizing

Villa Sparina is an amazing experience - it has a unique location, remote and exclusive, in the middle of the hills of the wine estate. The buildings, rooms, terrace are tastefully decorated with vintage or antique furniture and decorative items. The pool is a bit further away from the main building, about 10 min walk through the beautiful vineyards. The team maintains the rooms so well, top notch. Service at the restaurant and bar is also high quality, especially for the sumptuous breakfast and dinner, and while lounging around. Also at the pool, the service level is high, towels are present or quickly provided, simple tasteful lunch (esp the toast!) and sorbet ice.

A bit of a search (we scored Villa Sparina 9 out of 10), but two items stand out that could make Sparina perfect. First, the 7 course tasting menu at the restaurant has an opportunity for improvement in adding some unique courses rather than offering a selection of the standard menu. Second, in a few instances, service was a bit slow. For example, getting drinks around the bar area was a bit of a longer wait. This was not the standard, the team was often spot on, but happened a few too many times.
