Really nice hotel, comfortable (mostly), clean, great staff and stunning location. The refurbished pool area is stunning and a credit to the owners. The location on the Balcon is second to none. We stayed on bed and breakfast basis; the breakfast buffet choice was extensive and very tasty.

Rooms could do with refurbishment as they are looking tired. Our room had a few issues, a small water leak in the bathroom, a TV not working (not an issue in our case but might annoy some people) and an uncomfortable, rock hard bed. These are just small details and would certainly not stop me booking again.

The Hotel was in a great Location. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The breakfast options were really good and our room had everything you needed and some nice added touches. The view from our room was lovely, looking onto the sea. The only thing I would say needs slight improvement was the meal in the evening and also the staff in the bar areas are clearly overworked, run off their feet with the amount of people that want to drink and eat at the restaurant at the front of the hotel as it is open to the public as well as guests in the hotel. The management should put more bar staff on as the service could be slow to order a drink/food, other than that I thought the hotel was really lovely and would recommend it without hesitation. I would absolutely come back!

As mentioned above, slight improvement to the evening meal and added bar staff for the restaurant at the front of the hotel.

My daughter was with me & we had the most beautiful time as my husband & I were to go there 2 years ago, but he passed away 12th July 2024. The hotel was perfect so very central. The hotel, in general, was spotless. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help & the view from our room was spectacular. It was great to lie out after breakfast. Then we could go out for lunch & a walk around the shops. We would sometimes come back to the solarium & lie there or we would go down to the beautiful beach & I even had a swim in the Mediterranean sea so exciting. I would never get tired of going back to this hotel. Some evenings we would come back & sit outside with our ice cream & listen to the Spanish guitarist playing or the violinist playing on the Balcon. It was an absolute pleasure.

There was nothing for us not to like

The hotel staff couldn't do enough they were so helpful. Our room is clean. We had a fridge which was handy. The room was small & the bathroom, but it was good for what we needed. We didn't have a balcony only because it wasn't available but I would suggest getting one if you were booking. It was very clean & very central area to stay. The pool area is lovely, and the pool is clean. The only thing is the area is quite small, so I'd suggest getting there early in the day for a min bed. We had breakfast included & it was perfect. You could get fruit, yoghurts, hot food, freshly made omelette or crepes also. We did have lunch at the hotel, and the food was outstanding. The hotel is situated at the viewing point, which is a very busy area, but we didn't hear any noise any night, which was great. At night the hotel is very safe. You need your key to get back into the hotel late, but there is someone at reception all the time. The hotel organised for our transfer to & from the hotel to the airport which wad very helpful . Would highly recommend this hotel.

Location location. Seating area out front of hotel. Pool area. Access to beach. Breakfast average but very good lunch.

Room 714 very small. Difficult access to bathroom. Beds (2 single beds on wheels) not up to standard or acceptable for cost of room *** No staff helping older customers with sun beds, umbrellas on decking area or the beach. An elderly man was struggling with his umbrella, we helped him as nobody came to his assistance. I feel a staff member should be keeping an eye on these areas to help the older guests. A lovely hotel & will return but not to that room. I feel just a little more attention is needed to the above.

Everything! The gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, elegantly furnished with a very large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a shower and a large bath. The view from our room was amazing, overlooking the beach and sea and across to the Balcon de Europa. Breakfast was great with plenty of hot and cold options. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town, and very close to shops, restaurants, and the beaches.

Nothing at all to complain about other than it was a little expensive for January when it's too cold to enjoy the pool, balcony or beach.

The Hotel Balcon de Europa is a beautiful hotel in the most perfect location in Nerja. The staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, efficient - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are cool, comfortable, perfectly equipped and immaculately clean. Breakfast is a vast offering of everything anyone could possibly want and the view from the dining room is stunning. Terrace food is tasty with a good selection available and drinks are reasonably priced for such a prime location. Pool is small but idea and the general area is spotless with adequate loungers - one or two have seen better days, but not an issue as there are lots to swap out if you get a saggy one!

nothing!

The hotel overlooks the beach and has a nice atmosphere. Close to lots of shops and restaurants and comes alive at night. We were on B&b basis but first night we had dinner at the hotel @24 euros for buffet and it was well worth it. Views over the sea as well.

We were told to look for the municipal car park to park our car. It isn’t so straight forward to find and when parked at 18 euros a day, you have a 5/10 minute walk with your baggage to the hotel as it is in a pedestrianised area.

It is a very classy hotel in a beautiful location. I like that it’s more traditional and a bit old school but in a good way. I think it’s retained charm and it is quaint, which I appreciate. They gave us a complimentary hessian bag, a calendar and a gingerbread biscuit, which my kids absolutely loved. The staff were lovely, especially the restaurant manageress. She is doing a great job. We only had breakfast there but it was superb. LOVED the happy hour. Thank you for looking after us. We are looking forward to staying with you again soon 😊

My room wasn’t great as it was overlooking the noisy extractors and it was a bit hot, even though it was cool at night outside, my room didn’t seem to cool down. I had the window open day and night so it was a bit noisy. But to be fair, I haven’t marked it down because someone’s got to have that room, I guess! The pool was really cold and I was sorry I wasn’t able to go in. The jacuzzi was just about okay so at least I had a bit of a dip in there.

It is a beautiful hotel located on probably one of the best seaside locations in Europe. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable. All the staff were most helpful and generally excellent. The meals were well prepared, appetizing and with plenty of choice. The Cafe Nautico at the beach club is excellent as is the El Mirador bar off the reception area. Our week there was also blessed with glorious weather in early January.

The evening meal experience in the Don Enrique could be enhanced with more sensitive lighting and table settings. An on site fine dining restaurant with table service and menu options would be a welcome addition for some of the clientele. There is no taxi access to the hotel door as the area is fully pedestrianized which is challenging for older and infirm guests having to drag suit cases for some distance from the nearest drop off point in a local parking lot. Drivers would usually walk to the hotel from the parking lot and assist with some of the luggage but its a big negative in my opinion. A hotel porter to assist older guests with locating their room and the transfer of their luggage there on arrival would also be a welcome additional service.
