We stayed in the attic room, with the freestanding bath. It was wonderful and Peaceful. Bed was comfortable and the pillows were very high quality duck feather, had the best sleep. The air con unit was a god send. The bath was lovely, be aware there is no shower in this room, we liked the fact we had to run a bath and take the time to chill and relax but it’s not for everyone. Staff were lovely, absolute credit to the establishment. The food in the pub was delicious. As were the cocktails. Management removed our puddings from the bill as it was my birthday which was really lovely. Breakfast before we left was so tasty and they put a little birthday candle in it which was so cute! Thank you so much we had such a nice time. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

From the moment we arrived to the bright and welcoming pub we had an exceptional experience. Steve, the manager immediately gave us a free upgrade to the wedding suite which was massive with a comfortable king sized bed, huge bathroom with roll top bath and a large walk in shower. It even had air conditioning which was needed as it was a hot summer evening. We had a delicious dinner in the pub surrounded by friendly and chatty locals. The pub shut at 10pm that evening and it was super quiet when we went up to our room. The next morning a fantastic breakfast, we opted for the full veggie and the coffee was sublime. Steve and his staff went above and beyond to be helpful and were all very friendly. The whole place was very clean and I cannot fault the stay at all. In the centre of Woodstock, we loved walking around after breakfast and finding the hidden gems of antique shops, home made icecream and independent boutiques and coffee houses. The Crown is a real gem, we would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Crown on a visit to Blenheim Palace. A listed building, the crown is more a casual cafe bar than a pub so don’t expect a boozer with rooms! A chilled feel down stairs, open fire at the back with friendly, helpful staff and a nice selection of drinks and cakes, along with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was lovely, as vegetarians we could not fault the selection on the breakfast menu. We had booked a room with a roll top bath and open bathroom, on arrival they had kindly upgraded us, however it did not have a bath. After a quick discussion with the manager he kindly upgraded us again to the family suite.. which we absolutely loved and was very much our vintage mash style (even with our own coffee table in the room !) They happily added decaf coffee and oat milk to our room (which has a mini fridge) We were very happy with The crown, it’s not a 5 star establishment so we did not expect that, however watching all the ducks walking about like gangsters made our trip even better! We are used to the New forest; so used to horses and cows roaming round, but roaming ducks was a new one to us.. we loved it.

We had a very warm welcome on arrival and had a lovely, spacious room with large bathroom. The breakfast choice was very good and we also had dinner on the evening we arrived. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind and tried their best to meet our requirements.. The location was excellent as we had booked to see the Christmas lights at Blenheim. I would highly recommend the location for a visit to Woodstock and Blenheim throughout the year. We would definitely return.

With regards to the room, the only thing I would like to have had would have been a much greater choice of teas, including herbal ones.

We had a very comfortable stay. Arriving after a long drive with our 4 month old we had a wonderful greeting from the team who couldn’t be more helpful bringing all our luggage (no travelling light with a baby!) and upgraded us for free to their largest room, room 4, as it was available. The room was spacious, nicely designed and had con, a huge king size bed with a spacious clean bathroom and shower. The staff were all extremely friendly and we slept very well. The included breakfast in the morning was fresh and tasty. We would absolutely stay again and really pleased with our decision to stay at the Crown. We enjoyed walking the paths of Blenheim palace just minutes away from the front door and the entire village was picturesque.

The parking is close by street parking / pay and display car parks with active traffic wardens. We stayed on a Monday so managed to get a space but can imagine it’s quite busy at the weekend so one to be aware of.

Everything was great from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Room was amazing, bed was really comfortable, nice to have a sofa to sit on instead of just the bed. Was a nice surprise to get ground coffee and a cafetiere alongside a teapot and loose tea leaves and a bottle of milk not just a couple of little longlife milk pods. The Cowshed products in the bathroom were lovely and the quality of the handsoap was top notch, that there were toothbrushes provided was an unexpected bonus too. Food was delicious, not a huge menu but that was not an issue for us and I have to say the crispy squid was possibly the best I have ever had. The wine list was slightly bigger and had a good selection to choose from. Really like the 50cl carafe size and thought it offered good value. Breakfast was cooked to order and a great choice and it was as equally tasty as the dinner the night before. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and seemed genuinely interested in our trip. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. It is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and only a walk away from Blenheim Palace.

What a charming place! It is centrally located in Woodstock and walkable to Blenheim Palace. I absolutely loved the staff! They were so kind and helpful, especially at breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast choices were awesome and we loved trying new things. The yogurt parfait was the best I've had! The rooms are very clean. The Crown is easily accessible by bus from London.

Our room was on the very top floor, and the stairs were a bit difficult to navigate with luggage. BUT ... I understand it's an old building and it was a temporary issue. Plus, the man who checked us in helped carry some of our luggage and I appreciate that! I also didn't love the bath tub in the middle of the room with no privacy, but it was a nice tub and very clean. Next time, I'll pay a little extra for a room with a shower. :)

Julian met us on arrival and was very courteous, helpful and charming. The location of our stay was superb. The room was delightful, clean and well presented. Full marks for the designer. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous at all times and the breakfast menu was comprehensive, and very tasty indeed. We didn't eat dinner there but we shall on our next return, which is a definite.

The room was exceptionally warm, being at the top of the building so we had to sleep with the bedroom window open for air circulation. No worries there, except when M&M Waste solutions services arrived just yards away and decided to clear a building at 07:00, throwing and breaking up furniture with club hammers and hurling the debri into a waiting skip! No cares about waking the neighbourhood M&M Waste solutions! Oxfordshire council stipulate noisy works can start at 07:30 which we, personally, still feel is too early for the lovely market town of Woodstock where there are many hotels and residents trying to sleep at that time in the morning.

Great location, heart of town, a few blocks from side entrance to Blenheim Palace gardens -- go up the main street until it dead-ends and you will enter the totally beautiful gardens! We enjoyed our first experience of a "room over pub", just like in the olden days. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful and energetic. Bed was comfy. After hours exit was interesting but manageable (separate stairway, separate key -- but it worked fine).

We're flexible travelers who like "character hotels" so this was great for us, but if you are looking for traditional upscale places, there are a few other pricier options in Woodstock (don't google Blenheim; instead google Woodstock to find them).

we had a wonderful stay and felt well looked after. We was given a complimentary upgrade which was just lovely, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had dinner out in the local area which again was lovely, and such a beautiful area to explore, and breakfast at the hotel in the morning which was very nice and filling. Everything was clean, and has a cosy vibe. we will 100% be back should we visit the area again (which I am sure we will)
