The room had a fridge with fresh water and milk each day. There were also coffee bags and tea bags which were of a very high quality. There was a fan in the room in case it was too hot which we used one night. The room was very modern, warm and welcoming with 2 comfy chairs to sit on at the coffee table. The bed was large and comfy. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice. We were given a sheet to complete the night before and all the choices were explained. The toast and home made jam was an extra bonus. We had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon also the porridge. We also stayed for an evening meal which was superb, this inn has many accolades and the food really was of a very high standard. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. The staff are so friendly and caring which made us feel very welcome.

We are an elderly couple and couldnt get into the bath which was the only way of having a shower. The bath was stand alone, very modern and gorgeous, but there was nothing to hold on to of any description, so we didn't shower, which was ok as it was only a 2 night stay. I wish I was more agile.

A fabulous retreat with a superb staff team. We were made to feel so welcome and valued as guests. The staff were exceptional; courteous, bubbly and overall helped to make our two night stay very memorable. Front of house George ensured guests were very well looked after and the staff team were professional, courteous and knowledgeable regarding the facilities and menu. The menu was very creative. The quality and artistry of the chef and his team worked extremely well on the palette, promoting fantastic flavours and utilizing fresh, local produce and home grown accompaniments to compliment each dish. Service was prompt, food was hot and presentation was excellent. The restaurant was presented over four separate areas which added to the ambience of the dining experience. We enjoyed a wellness retreat with massage treatments and exclusive use of the facilities, which included a wood fired hot tub, Sauna and beautiful large copper cold bath in secluded surroundings, which despite being separate from the Inn itself, created a feeling of an escape to a relaxing ambience in the design of the retreat. The Wellness area ensures guests feel relaxed and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. The Riverside Inn has perfected the art of hospitality with a staff team whose work ethic ticks wonderfully, like a well oiled machine. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will return.

This is a real hidden gem. If you are in the area of Amestery do visit the Riverside Inn. Eating here is a must do. The food is incredible, all local produce, some grown in their 2 acre small holding. We visited on a Sunday and their chicken and beef roast was cooked to perfection, the meals were bursting with intense flavours. A meal too perfect to pass up. The meal was to a very high standard at very reasonable prices. We also stayed in a lovely room in the main building. We walked around their small holding and took a long country walk along the riverside. This was a magical last minute find for us. The staff are extremely nice and always helpful. The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

All staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere. We stayed two nights and found everything consistent. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent with their ethos for sustainable locally sourced ingredients shining through. The garden room was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy with a large comfortable double bed. A small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities in the room and complimentary soaps and gels in the shower were nice touches. Complimentary EV charger was a bonus.

There was nothing to dislike. However, the steps up to the garden rooms could be an issue if a guest has mobility problems.

Stayed at Riverside Inn the night before and the night of a family wedding here - we were very late checking in as travel was longer than expected but the team were able to accommodate this and kept me updated of how to enter the property & location of my keys via calls & text which we were really grateful of. The site also has x2 electric chargers which were unexpected but a welcome sight! We were in the main building and the room was lovely, very comfortable bed, plenty of space & storage, even the tea and coffee provided were such good quality! Very happy :) Also so happy with breakfast both mornings. I think the thing that made our stay even better though was the whole team, but special mention to George, the attentiveness of the team for the whole day, the arrival drinks, the wedding food and evening in the bar was great!

The room was small and not hugely comfortable. We chose the small room as we got the impression it was further from the road - it wasn't really. That said, the road was really not that busy and not a problem, so we needn't have booked such a small room. However, the bed in the room was just super small and the design just made it hard to walk around. It wasnt the most comfortable. We would come back - but to a larger room.

Very spacious, had the stables suite, lovely and warm, loved the extra touches, flapjack, milk, water and toiletries, bedding and towels pristine white, feather pillows and quilt very comfortable, shower hot, staff very friendly and obliging, arrived early no issues, breakfast was good, unfortunately didn't stay for evening meal but food looked amazing as had family arrangements, would definitely recommend the Riverside and would stay again.

You be hard pressed to find much wrong with this stay, just one little thing would like a table and chairs outside the room a little private outside space like the other rooms, would be an improvement.

Beautiful surroundings. Super comfy bed. Excellent attentive staff. Lodge was excellent with everything you need for a short stay. The breakfast was delicious. Waking up to the dawn chorus was glorious.

Everything perfect except for our evening meal. We were seated next to a table with 3 dogs. The food was delicious but my wife who has a heightened sense of smell, was unable to eat her main course. We did not have a desert either. We should have asked to be moved but it is a very popular restaurant and did not want to cause a fuss as the hosts try so hard to please everyone.

I loved the setting, the curious houses or little cottages where some of us slept, the quirky gardens and their lushness, the terrific spread we enjoyed when we returned to our rooms later in the evening on the Sunday, including the variety of the foods, the thoughtfulness in supplying every requirement for an impromptu buffet in the room. Breakfast was very wonderful and the staff was lovely and flexible and very accommodating and helpful. We will return.

The hotel was a bit far from Hay but given the late booking it was the very best, despite the distance.

We had an exceptional stay at the Riverside Inn in December on our visit to Ludlow and the surrounding area. Our stay in one of the garden lodges was delightful; the lodge was clean, bright and well-equipped and we had a fabulous nights sleep. The location is stunning, and we truly appreciated their commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. The breakfast was a highlight, especially the beans, and we enjoyed dinner on both evenings so we could try out as many of the menu items as possible! The food and hospitality were among the best we've experienced in recent years.

Nothing bad to report. We loved everything and would love to visit again on our next trip over that way!
