The room was an excellent size. It was called a Junior suite, so it had a seating area, but it wasn't separate from the sleeping area, which I would normally expect for a suite, The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Fabulous bathroom with fantastic bath and huge shower. Aircon was a bonus that I was not expecting. Room overlooked the courtyard which was pleasant, with a view of the church tower behind. Room was quiet and extremely comfortable. Highly recommended. Loved the way the bar and lounge areas were formed of smaller rooms. Made it feel cosy and intimate.
The car park is small, which is stated in the adverts. If you have a larger vehicle, especially a longer one, you might struggle to get in as it is very tight. To be honest I was glad my husband was driving!!

Good size room, aircon, comfortable bed, fridge. Good size bathroom
Better use of the large space available: - Could have done with overcoat hooks by door. - extra table for make up with mirror & lamp (plenty of wasted space where this could be utilised) - more powerful shower for price-point Evening meal was a disappointment compared to last time we stayed. Very salty main meal, and fries appeared to be frozen oven chips. Dessert not good either. Maybe it was an off night. At the bar, for standard of hotel you should have mixer orange bottles or fresh orange - rather than UHT orange juice which spoils premium vodka (Grey Goose)

We were able to park and to stay in the car park beyond check out time. Dinner was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The breakfast was very good, well cooked, and locally sourced sausage and black pudding. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was very well appointed, and very well lit! All the staff were helpful and friendly.
Very poor lighting for reading in the bedroom. AND very poor lighting for reading my newspaper over breakfast in the dining room. The bedrooms need powerful bedside lights. The dining room needs variable lighting, so that people who want to read (e.g. at breakfast) are able to!!

The olde hotel is fantastic to look at and eerie and looks and feels spooky, I love that. It is warm, comfy, in an amazing location and very friendly to humans and dogs btw. Local to lots of amazing pubs and eateries, a market, a castle and a river walk we were lucky to get the weather to do. 1/2 hour walk.
Three times we asked if breakfast was included and told categorically no, then some of our group decided to go in for breakfast and when not charged they enquired to be told it was. We had decided not to go into breakfast and went for a wander to find a local cafe as part of our experience, but in principal this is very annoying..... but they said the breakfast was very nice. Bar in reception a bit pricey but there is one and that's good. The walk to our hotel room was quite a way and lots of little steps and turns, we DID NOT mind but if it is a bit difficult for you to get around ask for a nearby room - the corridors can go on and on ..... :-)

The location was excellent. The hotel building was very impressive and loved the interior decorating. We got upgraded last minute so the junior suite felt extremely comfortable with a gorgeous bathroom. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly, professional and accommodating- thank you.
The only thing the room above ours, the noise from above the floor was quite loud. The first night and morning was fine but the next night and morning was really loud with footsteps (sounded like someone was going to come through the ceiling). I understand it’s an old building but maybe just warn future guests

The staff, as always, were lovely, friendly/ professional and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was great and clean and bed very comfortable. The hotel has such character inside as well as outside. The welcome with two spaniel dogs (2nd time visit with dogs) was perfect. We never once felt awkward or out of place with our two (rather spoilt pets ;-). We were able to park both cars at the back of the hotel, which was perfect. and the manager let us leave one car till just before checking in time, on our day of departure, so that we could look around the area, with family in one car. Again, the staff are fantastic! I would certainly recommend staying at The Feathers without question and I am sure we will stay again when we are in the area again. The closeness to the market/ centre of the town is perfect at a 5 min walk frpm the door of the hotel. Ludlow has so much to offer and friendly people and pubs too. Many dog friendly so don't let having pets put you off visiting.
Our only complaint we had was that we ate in for the evening meal on the day we arrived and one of the four meals was not great. The gnocchi was not good at all and my wife couldn't eat it unfortunately. It was overcooked and tasteless to be completely honest. We are not very good at complaining, so didn't. The breakfast and coffee wasn't very hot but was a proper full English and it was all there, just not very hot. Our previous visit this didn't happen and the breakfast was perfect. Other than that, it was another great experience at the Feathers.

The feathers is beautiful hotel with many original features. Twin room was spacious and warm. You are able to open a window so never got to warm. The room had a definite slope, but it has been standing for 500 years. The shower was powerful and set at the right temperature. Bar area was small and cosy with a log fire.
We had dinner in the restaurant chose sirloin steak with truffle and parmarsen cheese chips, this was a poor choice. the steak was tough, and the chips were tasteless. In fairness, the restaurant was busy, and plates going back to the kitchen were empty. Plus, our room was a bit of a trek from the lift, which was up and down a couple of small flights of stairs. Being over sixty I felt reception should have offered to take our cases. These dislikes are small and would not put me off going back to the hotel or trying the restaurant again.

Beautiful old building in very central location ,staff very friendly Hotel lovely and warm . Very modern large bathroom with an excellent shower.Evening meal very good .Very convenient parking in the hotel itself but unable to pre-book a space so may not get one in the busy season .Very good draft beer in the hotel bar and reasonably priced .Very quiet.
Breakfast just average —— cooked breakfast fine but let down by the poor selection on the self service table beforehand —- when we were there the fruit selection was very much depleted by the time we arrived and wasn’t replenished.

This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel, both stays have been excellent. The staff are friendly, the rooms have everything needed - including non-slip surface in the lovely, modern shower, very important for me. The 'Christmas gift' of Proseccos was welcome - we could start the day with Bucks Fizz!
We would have liked a 'cheaper option' for breakfast - at Christmas we really didn't need an eighteen-pound breakfast (£15 if booked on arrival), a Continental alternative would have been good, or just croissant and coffee. But there are lots of cafés around! Otherwise, all good.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. We had lunch in the restaurant and also breakfast the following morning. We also had drinks in the bar. The hotel is a period property and is full of character. There is a car park which we used (there is a charge but it was very reasonable).
The only issue we had was getting access to some of our rooms. We booked 5 rooms in total and only 1 of them was ready at the check-in time (4pm). The duty manager explained that at lot of the house keeping staff had called in sick but it really was not ideal that some of our party only got there room keys as we were just leaving for our evening meal at 6.30pm. Credit to the hotel, they gave us free breakfast in the morning and were very apologetic. Hopefully this was a bit of a one-off issue as everything else was excellent.
