Cannot praise the staff enough. Very efficient and very friendly. Nothing was too much bother and our 10 month old puppy was made a fuss of as he was allowed in every part of the pub including dining with us. The place was spotless, the bed massive and every facility you could have wished for present. An ideal location for the Black and White trail Ludlow Hereford and surrounding area. All in all an excellent stay was had and it was with a heavy heart we said our farewells. Having worked in a customer service industry for over 40 years it was a pleasure to receive the service we had always aspired to. Well done to you all and thank you.

Have done this review on behalf of my brother & his wife for whom I booked the room as a birthday gift. I booked a deluxe double room, and they said it was very roomy, a huge sleigh bed, a nice little sitting area. & good size tv. Free wi fi. They are both smokers, so they loved the beer garden. They said the food was very good & breakfast was brilliant. Really impressed that they don't normally do poached eggs, but they made the exception for my sister in law.

The only very small criticism was that I paid for a bottle of red wine in their room. It was there but there was no way to open it in the room. They got around this by taking it to the bar & it was opened for them there.

I didn't have a cooked breakfast, but I was disappointed that the only alternative was a slice of boring packaged sliced bread. I would have liked a croissant or more interesting crusty bread.

The bathroom needed decorating and updating. The bedroom too could do with an update. I was charged for two desserts, whereas we only had one dessert. I pointed this out to the lady when checking out and paying, and she said she had taken off one dessert, but on checking my bill when I returned home I saw that she hadn't taken it off. She was very nice and I'm sure it was just an oversight, but still a little annoying!

Lovely quiet accommodation block. Clean and good size for our needs. Inn was comfortable, excellent food, lovely friendly staff. Dog friendly. Made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back to stay and sample more of the food (looked amazing and good value) we arrived a little late as stopped to eat on route. We couldn't resist the desserts though! Breakfast was also good quality and excellent value. All staff were great, a real credit to the place.

Room was very clean but a little tired, crack in sink, some touch ups to grout in shower and paint work would make a difference. Only other suggestion would be a fan in room. Was very warm evening on our stay, slept with all windows open. Not sure if fans available as didn't think to ask.

Location was lovely staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was absolutely lovely with high quality locally sourced produce. Beautifully laid out safe play area for children too. Liked that the rooms were away from the main pub with plenty of outside seating in a lovely setting.

Requested a twin room but was allocated a double which was a little awkward. Bouncy castle directly under window..

Great location and food, evening meal and breakfast were good quality. Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Clean room. Staff very friendly and helpful and accommodated extra guests for dinner. Small issue with one of our starters but was rectified without any hassle and promptly.

Breakfast could be included in the price. Little outdated decor but this didn't affect our stay, Few stains on towels. Assistance stool in the bathroom maybe this could be a requested item as it was mostly in our way.

Great location for our 1 night stay while cycling up towards Cumbria. Really friendly staff. Good choice of non-meat dishes for dinner and breakfast. Very clean room with a bath for soaking weary limbs. Quiet.

All small points: weird dinner-plate size green light in bedroom ceiling that stayed on continuously; nowhere undercover for bikes (it was dry, so not a worry); no muesli, fruit or plain yogurt options for breakfast

A great choice for an overnight stay. Quiet, rural location. Good choice of high-quality meals in pub. Room newly refurbished - large and spotlessly clean. Plenty of electrical sockets. Plenty of hot water. Lovely staff - very friendly. A small mix-up over breakfast starting time was quickly fixed - thank you. Highly recommended. I would look to stay here on another occasion.

Rude and uncompromising hotel manager following a reasonable complaint over a meal that was missed followed by 3 fire alarms in one night. In both instances there was little acceptance or adequate compensation of their mistake. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend anyone stays there
