Comfortable and spacious accommodations with an upscale residential decor Cleanliness of the room and public spaces. A guest lounge well stocked with snacks and pastries as well as quick to prepare breakfast items. Jim, the hotel owner made us feel as though we were staying in his personal home. Free parking and convenient location.

Would have liked to have had a dressing mirror in the room. That's all.

It's a Victorian-era hotel building., with high ceilings, fireplaces, appropriate well-made furniture. Beautifully renovated and maintained, so the shower, AC, and everything worked well. Very quiet. No front desk, no staff present most of the time, so it's a little like an elegant apartment rental. No elevator, so you have to be ready to climb 20 or 40 steps. Close to good restarants and the waterfront.

Everything was wonderful- The room, the location, the towels(!), the delicious food and fresh fruit which is available in the lounge ALL DAY LONG. My wife was actually the guest. We travel quite a bit. She said this is one of the nicest hotels she has ever stayed in, and there have been quite a few. Jim, the innkeeper is delightful. Review’s title is her direct quote

Exceeded expectations. No complaints.

Beautiful room w/ fireplace that we used the first evening. Nice selection of breakfast foods. Jim Read was very nice to work with. Walked to almost everything. Quiet though on a main road. Beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Toured the upper lighthouse on Johnson Street & very informative person. Even got to go to the very top of it. Loved the entire area Would recommend this place to stay

Not a thing!

Rooms were very clean and put together nicely. Restaurant was excellent as well.

Exterior of the hotel was a mess with garbage and unkept landscaping. We missed that is didn’t have an elevator. We did t need it but I could see where it could be an issue for elderly couples not in very good health.

Breakfast was ok, would have been nicer if water was available in breakfast room. Had great views loved the 7 head shower, very relaxing. Air conditioner was able to get down to temperature I love. 50 degrees 👍🏼. Location spot on

No refrigerator in room, had to use key to get in front door, but that was not a big deal

Continental breakfast was available in the lounge with plenty of choices. The restored hotel is charming and comfortable in a great location. The main street is less than a block away with nice shops, cafes and restaurants. The marina and park areas on the lake are beautiful. We’ll be back!

Room was wonderful. A bit of a mix up for a last minute booking with Booking.com.

Breakfast was not really set out, other than pastries. Things were kept in the refrigerator, which was also used for other guests food. Booking.com did not send any instruction email. Bit of confusion when checking in.

Nothing. Everything was amazing!
