I don't think I expected much because this was the most inexpensive accommodation that was closest to an event I was attending. I knew I wouldn't be there for long periods of time, just needed a place to sleep and get ready. I was so pleasantly surprised by how quirky and cute and clean. Beds were comfortable. Carpet looks like it had been freshly cleaned. Parking was super easy. I didn't indulge in the continental breakfast, but I saw others enjoying it. it is a really convenient location and the value is unbeatable. On top of that the staff are warm and helpful. You can't ask for more than all of this.

We loved this place! First off, the Dutch decor is so much fun. The windmill is really neat, and the lobby was super cozy. They have a frikkin sauna on site. (Though unfortunately, we didn't realize until our last night.) The room was spacious and cozy and had a nice big table for playing cards and eating at.
Other than the spider that crawled out of my clothes when we were packing up, I have nothing negative to say at all. (And honestly, that could have happened anywhere. We were near the woods in Washington after all!)

The decor of the Holland Inn was quaint and cozy. The furniture is dated and some updates have been done. We expected Antique furniture and had one piece in our room with more modern styles blended in. There are several small updates they could do in the bathroom to make it look cleaner and cared for.
When we attempted to get into bed for sleep the bed was on rollers and moved significantly, which almost caused me to fall onto the floor...lol

The Auld Holland, although dated, was quite comfortable and cute. I liked the Dutch styling. The free breakfast was a bit lacking however I truly appreciated the amount of coffee pods that were in the room. The restaurant right next door is very tasty American/Mexican cuisine.
The rooms could use a fresh coast of paint and the bathrooms could use a complete makeover as they are both very dated. However for the price well worth it.

Loved the location, it was so beautiful. As for breakfast could have used some hot food options like waffles and or egg choice. Cereal . One can only eat so many begals and yogurt .how about some egg bites the could be heated . Over all enjoyed the stay. The beds are like sleeping on pullows..
The staff could tell about y transportation if people out of town

Hotel personnel were very friendly & helpful. We had a reservation for a queen room on the second floor. When checking in the desk clerk saw my husband’s knee brace and offered us a free upgrade to a queen w/kitchenette on the first floor. Bath towels, hand towels & wash cloths were thick towels not the thin/flimsy towels we’ve experienced in more expensive hotels. Continental breakfast was sufficient: coffee, tea, creamers, sweeteners, bagels, cream cheese, nutrigrain bars, danish, chocolate & regular milk and more.
Ceramic tile floors were freezing, make sure to bring slippers!

When you first drive up the place looks really neat. It has that old world Holland look with a windmill and stylings. The check-in process was easy and the staff were helpful and friendly. Parking is easy and the distance to our intended reason for staying in Oak Harbor was great.
Once to the rooms, you realize that no remodeling or updating has been done probably since the original construction. Faded carpets, towel racks not properly secured to the wall, closed weight room, etc. Everything looked like it was from the late 70's or early 80's. If you are expecting modern hotel feel this is not it. If you are wanting the old world stylings from the outside to continue to the inside, then this is the place for you. The bed was comfortable though!

The room was comfortable, clean and had the necessary toiletries. The breakfast was basic (bagels, danish), but was good enough for us. The front desk staff was friendly.
I’m torn on the housekeeping. We were there for 5 days and requested housekeeping after 3 days. The put clean towels but that was it. I was expecting the trash to be emptied, maybe a quick vacuum of the floor and refill the coffee cups. Other than that, the room was fine.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was charmingly unique: I had shutters instead of curtains and a half canopy over my bed, and the hotel is outlined in cafe lights at night. This is both fun to look at and also makes the place easy to see from a distance. It is conveniently located right along the highway as you're entering Oak Harbor from the North. The breakfast items were convenient and just what I needed to get my day started. The wifi worked great for the work I brought back to my room. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area of Oak Harbor in the future.
My toilet flushed weakly and I had to hold down the handle through the entire flush to get it to work correctly. On the other hand, my sink was overly powerful and I splashed myself when I first turned it on. Lastly, one of my towels had a small section that was pulled and threadbare.

The cost, the convenience/location. The place looked very charming with its windmill aesthetic. Having a microwave and mini fridge was nice. The room was adequate for our needs.
The chair and carpet could use a good cleaning. The door could use some touch-up paint. The bed was okay, but definitely squeaked a lot, so I'm guessing it's in need of a replacement due to age. The room we were in was a bit drafty and the door could use a better seal on the bottom to keep the air out. It was also a bit noisy due to the proximity to the main road and being the first unit by the front desk.
